Cant really complain, for the price it works as advertised, but did take away 1 star for the cheap feel and looks.

As a repair station I need a fast way to test SATA drives. I do not need to fully install the SATA drives, just attach the connection and plug it in. Works great. For Ten bucks it is a steal.

As advertised. One minute to install the drive (honestly), plugged into the USB port and the drive was instantly recognized. Almost as easy as a memory stick. Great use for the spare drive you take out of your laptop when upgrading to a larger drive. I now use the spare as my place to hold backups. No reason to hesitate; this thing just does what it says.

my case i received actually didn't have text on it and has a glossy shine. i added a thin cushion to take up the extra space to keep the hdd from sliding around. great value for a product that gets the job done.

The good point: It works fine. Got all the old hard disk data back. Bad points: (1)My SATA Samsung HM250JI doesn't fit into the enclosure. Just a fraction of an inch too small. (2)The description didn't mention that it wants to be attached to 2 USB-ports, for power reasons. If I had known this, I would have rather bought one with an AC-adapter.

This is one of those products that is a no brainer. You install the drive, hook it up and it just works. No fancy bells and whistles to take away from it working. This is a GREAT BUY.

The SATA connectors are very stout and also make a stronge connection. I search many online sites to house my seagate 320 gig 7200 rpm 2.5 in drive that runs very cool already so I was not looking for an external encloser that had a bunch of un-needed cooling devices. althogh the all aluminum case is a bonus.

I do not give many reviews... But felt I had to on this product. You cannot beat this device for the money, bottom line. Very simple to add your hard drive, plugin and start using. It really is that simple.

When I read some of the horror stories on other sites I regretted buying this. However, once I used it I was surprised. Sure there were no bells and whistles and you had to configure it by right clicking on My Computer and then Manage but well.. it works! The data transfer rate is 28 megabytes per second on my machine after enabling optimize for performance via the control panel. And while it's not the top speed advertised 480Megabits per second (or 60 MegaBytes per second) it's still not bad especially since people are claiming 32 megabyte per second bottle-necking. All in all, if you want to get an external drive but also want to upgrade your laptop from it's old drive you get both by buying an enclosure such as this one.

I bought this Sabrent Hard Drive enclosure looking to save some money. The unit functions fine and was easy to set up. It does everything my Ultra Hard Drive Enclosure does and I did save $10, but for the extra $10 ($20 total) I do prefer the Ultra with it's brushed aluminum case which is much more solid and stays cool to the touch ALL the time. Bottom line though, the Sabrent will do the same job for half the price but the Ultra is a much better produced enclosure.

I installed the SATA drive into the case and pluged it into a USB port. XP recognized it immediately and it works great.

Liked the first one - bought two more. I now have cloned backup drives for each laptop. Have used the first one intensively for over a month now with absolutely no problems.

I recently bought a Patriot Warp 32GB SATA II Solid State Drive for my laptop, also from Tiger. The old hard drive from my laptop was still in great shape and I needed something that I could store pictures, music, etc, on. This enclosure allowed me to easily turn the old drive into a highly portable external storage device. Just plug it in and go, found the device immediately in Vista, Windows 7, XP and Ubuntu.

Used to recover hard drive from a dead laptop. Plugged into desktop with WinXP. Worked quickly. Make sure you plug into USB in back of computer. Would NOT work with USB on front. Recommended.

This was such an easy to use tool. I installed a 500GB HDD and it took less then 2 minutes to put together and have up and running. Data Transfer was great.

No frills, flashy LEDs, add-on software, bells or whistles; but who cares? This does exactly what I want it to do at a great price. I prefer not to pay for extra stuff I don't need which is why this enclosure is a High-Value Proposition. Plus, I LOVE not having to carry an extra power cord to use it.

this item did as promised. Had a compaq which was given to me and did not work. After taking the parts out realized that it still had a 150 GB HDD... WHATTT!!! so i bought this case for it and BAM!! i got the hard drive fully working on my Mac Book Pro with not a single problem. Also the installation was as easier as it can get. Just unscrew and put the HDD in and you are good to go! highly recommend it.
