its a great size for the price I got this hdd on 02ቫ񳏊 and on December 2010 the hdd began to show me !disk delayed failure! this hdd didn't dye however but memory is starting to leak and quickly i consider the spindle on the hdd will stop reading at all very good assume i've backed almost everything up. Great cost. Great storage. Speedy speed. Nothing significant, but it does make an interesting noise while writing/reading. I'm using this HDD with a docking station as an external backup. Added this drive to Vantec USB2. enclosure..runs extremely cool and is a steady performer. Not super quick, but very trusted. Would advise faster drive for streaming films, esp HD/BluRay. Even with eSATA connection, the drive speed is the bottleneck..use it for backup/storage. It works as advertised, no complaints right here. :D

It's fairly big. Does what it's supposed to do. It was affordable for it's size at the time. Had problems with it following a couple of months. I would be watching a video and suddenly it would freeze and I would get an IO Error. I haven't lost any data however but I don't really feel like this is a reputable drive for something important. I have this drive installed in a media box that plays videos and music (think non-proprietary Apple Television). It's not installed in a desktop or an external enclosure. I probably wouldn't buy one again. It appears to unreliable.

I just bought my 2nd one of these for my house server. These drives run cool and very. Pretty roomy and great cost None I seriously like the Samsung OEM hard drives. My house server has Ɠ) 1TB samsung tough drives and now ƒ) 1.5TB samsung hard drives. They are all the green, low power versions they all run between 65-70 degrees.

Price, speed Had two drives in a RAID hot swap case along with other drives. Each drives logic boards resistors fell off !!! when swapping the drives. Never had this happen with other drives over several years. Really poor develop quality.

Took about 8 hours to format in NAS and all went effectively. As I was transferring files from my personal computer to the NAS, 1 of the drives failed. Luckily, I was only coping file and not moving them. Newegg emailed me a shipping label to ship it back for an exchange.
