Put a number of these in a raid storage device. They are very quiet, and run extremely cool (max I've seen is 19C under normal load - this is in a cool basement with good case cooling though).Given the energy efficient nature of the drives, performance is more than acceptable. Over GigE, the network is more of a limiting factor. |
I purchased 4 of these for use in my Synology DS409 NAS. They perform faster under RAID when compared to the WD 1.5TB green drives which were causing problems.
