This product needs an available USB connector AND an available Floppy Drive connection. Many motherboards don't provide a floppy drive connection and without it the floppy support is useless as Tiger Direct doesn't have a drive card and can't advise where to find one. Also, the screws that are provided MUST be used as the case is plastic and the provided screws are made to thread into the plastic. Regular floppy drive screws won't work. If you need a floppy drive and don't have a drive connector, try the Sony USB Floppy Drive.

This is a great asset for the geek who helps everyone else when old file transfers are required. The lesser but needed hardware to the hard drive drawer.

Nice little unit. Fit the front slot without having to shave off that 1/16 inch as some others had to do. Didn't check all of the memory slots but floppy and usb work most excellent. Will purchase more in the future.

It was a pain to install, it came with the metal case off. I ended up soldering it to my case because no screws would fit in the holes tightly, this is a VERY cheap product but everything works and it gets the job done, I just wish a better company would make some of these. (samsung or something)

Decent for the price. It would be desirable to note in a box next to such devices that it is necessary to purchase the ribbon cable separately (remember when they were provided with the unit?).

I dunno why everyone is complaining about this device whether it be that the cable is too short or it's to large to fir in the 3.5'' external slot of their case. I suppose it was a tight fit getting it into my case, but other than that I didn't have any problems with it and I'd say that it rates at a solid 4/5. $30-35 seems to be an appropriate price.

I am an IT guy and bought 32 of them to install into 32 computers at a school for a customer of mine. And they all install easily, on XP and Vista compurters. Was so quick to install and they all worked. Another school now called because they also want it on there computer. Making so much porfit. I give this product 5 Stars.

Have been looking for one of these for 2 or 3 years now. Ultra has had one for some time that doesn't accept Fuji XD flash cards. I use both XD and SmartMedia cards. This Sabrent does not show SmartMedia cards as compatible. Sabrent apparently doesn't answer email inquiries concerning compatibility, TigerDirect only looks at published catalog information to answer inquiries, so I had to take a 'leap of faith' and ordered the device. IT DOES READ SmartMedia cards as well as XD. The front cover of the device is correct and reads ''SM/XD'' over the appropriate port even though neither Sabrent nor TigerDirect realize this.

This is one neat little item. I installed it in a Coolmaster Elite case with no problems. This unit does not come with a driver CD, but Windows Vista recognized it and installed all of the drivers needed. The floppy is very quiet and the card readers work very well. The extra front USB port is a plus. I've ordered two more of these for my next builds. Another GREAT item fromthis site..

I have been using a similar card reader/floppy drive made by YE_Data for a couple of years. I recently discovered the YE-Data unit would not read the new SDHC cards. The only way I could read them was with a printer with a built in card reader and I don't like to leave it on all the time just for that. I bought this drive mainly for the price and because it included a floppy drive. I have no other experience with Sabrent but like the other reviewers mine was too big for the slot in my CoolerMaster case. I had to bend the little guides where the drive slides in to get it to fit. It is about 1/16'' bigger (taller) than the other floppy drives I have. After getting it to fit it works very well, the floppy drive is quiet and works just like any other floppy. I don't have all the various cards this thing is supposed to read but it does work with the ones I have including SDHC. Windows instantly detects a card has been inserted and everything works quickly and without a hitch.

Almost did not get a floppy drive with my new system but when I saw this one with the card readers for basically the same price as a card reader alone it seemed obvious to me. Be sure you have a usb header free on you mobo. and while the usb cord is long enough I would have liked it to be just a little longer.
