Sata to USB - comes with power brick. Doesn't get any much easier. Works with out any required drivers below windows XP. Transfer speed is a tad slow - 13 to 15 megs/second below windows XP. Good item. Incredibly easy to use.

The guy who said otherwise beneath is clueless. This will operate for ALL SATA standards. No drivers were necessary under XPSP2. None.

I wish the SATA power connecter wiring would've been covered up somehow, but I guess I can repair that w/ some electrical tape. This adapter was simple to use with Vista, plug and play. Took correct off and recognized the drives I needed to pull info from in fast succession. it's affordable and it operates. great low cost resolution for imaging a drive if you aren't time-constrained. connected to a G5 iMac, i only get 13MB/s sustained reads. the same drive does ㅴMB/s with dd beneath linux. if you want speed, this isn't a fantastic solution
