Worked correct out of the box. I'm on a dual boot OpenSuse and XP machine. I have this connected to a SATA HD. XP auto mounted as a HD. Linux all I had to do was a simple mount command. Seamless adapter. I have this hooked up to a hard drive out of the laptop. 1 difficulty is the Tough drive is generally on even when the PC is not on. I have to unplug the power adapter. Well worth the income. You get something like this and an enclosure you have all the parts necessary for an external HD minus the actual Challenging Drive.

It works as expected, very same as any USB external HD. and works on the 1.5 tb drives. Mostly just use the power converter, given that my pc supports esata, but I have also used the converter for my laptop. I wish it was more affordable. hard to go wrong with this

If your mb didnt have a serial ata port like mine did, this small gadget makes it straightforward to get your data from old drives. effortless plug and play. Im running vista household deluxe and a FIC mb and it worked with no problems. N.T.D.

This thing instantly saw my DVDr drive on my ASUS EEE. It didn't need any drivers. Worked just like a thumb drive. SATA cable is a small brief. Prevented a costly external drive purchase for my EEE

Does specifically what it's supposed to with no difficulties. Now I can extract and transfer information for SATA drives via a USB port. I also have a USB IDE adapter but I'm confident SATA will be the predominant interface soon. It's a given that you should make sure you manage the cables with care. There's no protective case for the drive.

Convenient for loose HDD's or for using an HD installed in one more personal computer. No Off/On switch, you have to unplug it to turn the HDD energy off. Would be good if the whole energy connector wires had been covered.

A bit of stupid comedy? Did not work. You can't follow the instructions when you're taking them from 12year old "text talk".Either it did not function correctly with the drive or the drive was messed up, either way it didn't work so I can't say anything superior about it. It looked like it functioned? Drive by no means showed up no matter what I did.

Low cost for a SATA to USB 2. cable, works with CD drives, and Tough drives, works with xbox hitachi drives. Comes with a power adapter for SATA hard drives. Brief cord, other then that absolutely nothing realy require a longer cord, maybe accouple feet or some thing.

Item worked great for transferring data from my old Tivo HD tough drive to my new Tivo tough drive that I bought on here. I bought two of these items issues and hooked them up to my laptop and they did a good job. They honestly do appear kinda flimsy. They did do a fantastic job and I feel they would be fine for occasional use but, I would not trust these points if I had to use them each and every day. The plastic on these things is affordable and it feels like it will just pop apart. The powersupply is also extremely finicky. I would not trust the powersupplies on these things if I applied them everyday either. The instruction manual has to be about the worst slaughtered version of English that I have ever read in a manual. Whoever wrote it is not a native English speaking person and that individual must not have had access to a English language spell check.If you truly need the instruction manual to figure out what you are doing, do not purchase this factor mainly because, I know what I was performing and could make no sense of anything written in the instruction manual.

Worked perfectly the first time. Truly basic and straightforward to use, consists of power adapter and doesn't will need batteries. None The power cord is only about 3 feet long, but that's not a actual difficulty as it permits for a longer cord to replace it.

I have XP and only IDE hard drive ports.I needed to Get data off a Sata drive for a customer. I Plugged it in, power plug into wall as the last connection, and it popped right up in My Computer.

I ordered this, and a couple days later, I received it, pluged in my dvd drive, and it worked! Have not had any problems.

No instructions on how to hook this thing up. Can not get it to work and not sure if I even got the right thing. Not happy

I attached this device to a 500 GB drive and the control board went up in smoke. Thinking the drive was at fault, I set up a second drive, 500 GB, and it too went up in smoke. I contacted the manufacturer, twice to ask about my experience, and they have not responded.
