One of my computers got a virus that prevented Windows from starting up. I had pictures and other documents on the infected computer but no back up. I removed the hard drive from the infected computer and used this converter to hook it up to an older (working) computer. The hard drive showed up as an additional drive in My Computer and I was able to recover my pictures, etc. Very easy to use! Worked great.

This device did everything that it stated it would. Have used it numerous times to make clones of my MacBook Pro Internal drive which allowed me to increase the size of the internal drive.

Very happy with product, u plug it in and it boots it up as if it where a flashdrive. Very quick. As of right now I am very happy, until I see a sign of planned obsolescence.

Purchased to clone your original hard drive from a notebook. It worked extremely well. I replaced an 70Gb notebook hard drive with a 320Gb using Seagate (free) cloning software. Worked like a charm. Well worth the price. JUST MAKE SURE YOU CHOOSE CUSTOM PARTITION SIZES WHEN CLONING (NOT AUTOMATIC), OTHERWISE HIDDEN RECOVERY PARTITIONS GO FROM 10GB TO 50GB WASTING 40GB SPACE!

This device worked as advertised. Helped me recover valuable data from a sata hard drive. I would recommend this product if you are looking for a SATA Cable Converter. Only setback is that I should have gotten the IDE/SATA Converter for future use.

Don't try to use if for a format...it takes 36 hours for 250Gb; however, to clone your original hard drive from a notebook, it serves that purpose extremely well. I replaced an 80Gb notebook hard drive with a 250Gb using seagate (free) cloning software. Worked like a charm. I just took the new drive, cloned the old to it, and then replaced the drive. Worked with no problem at all. Well worth the price.

This thing works great for the price! My seagate hdd works like new with out an enclosure, and I was about to spend $70 on one. It saved me money, I will definitely recommend this product to my friends and family!

This product does one thing and does it well. Other products trying to do too many things cost more and are not as reliable. The price of the Sabrent Serial ATA (SATA) to USB 2.0 Cable Converter is right and the quality is good. Don't forget to set the drive jumpers correctly or you won't be able to access your drive!

This thing is cool and works without a hitch, turns any internal drive into a external drive. Great if your looking for that 1 file or program, you don't have to install the drive to take a quick look at whats on it.

This product is awe-some for the money. I needed this to hookup an external Blu-ray re-writer to my laptop or any other computer I wish. Works flawlessly.

I needed to install software on an old computer that did not have a DVD reader. I used a internal DVD drive I had and connected it with the Sabrent converter to an external USB port. XP recognized the DVD drive and I installed the software without a hitch. This is a neat little gadget and does exactly what it claims.

This thing is Awesome! It works perfectly except for the fact that if the power cord that connects the power supply and a Hard Drive is moved down or up, it cuts off power to Hard Drive. Other than that it works great just don't move the power cord. I didn't use a enclosure for my Hard Drive for 4 hours and my Seagate was cool to touch...

I purchased this cable set up to try and recover data from a crashed PS3 hard drive. At first my P.C. running winXP didn't recognize the drive but after a quick search I found out that the drive needed to be assigned by right clicking on ''My Computer'' selecting manage, then Disk management, set disk partition, then assign a drive letter. Unfortunately, my hard drive was damaged too badly to recover any data, but, after formatting the disk, it is now good to go as a backup for the PS3 again.
