Cons:I just got this today and had somewhat of an annoying time trying to get it to work. Read the full summary if your drive is not showing up in your "My Computer" even though it is recognized in the BIOS and device manager or if it's just not finding the drivers folder.

I installed Seagate DiscWizard and that helped me configure the drive. Use GPT layout if you don't plan on using it with Windows XP or older. |

Got this for $70, cheapest 1 TB I have seen for a while. Tend to use seagates for budget builds but have not had any issues with my other 2 drives so may start using them more often instead of WD blacks. Using this one as a secondary drive and have had no issues so far, good speed and size for a very good price. |

It's a good hard drive so far. It's fast and I don't notice it being slower than the WD Caviar Black. It's a lot less loud than the Caviar Black 1 TB, although it's not silent. The 1 year warranty is a turn off but I would rather have this than hearing the annoyingly loud Caviar Black just by surfing the internet. I hope it won't fail in the long run. |

Just purchased my 3rd. drive. Faster than my 1TB WD was. I`m using two of the drives in a Raid configuration. Works Great. Had one problem about a month ago and had to do a Low Level format to correct the problem. I don`t know what the cause of the Problem was since so I don`t know if it was cause by the drive or ie. virus, corrupt file or.... I just bought another one to replace my WD that crashed two days after the Warranty ended. So far I really like these drives. |

I choose Seagate because WD is still charging more for the same capacity drive. Drive is quiet, can't hear any rattling. It is faster than the wd black serie but time will tell how reliable it is as Seagate's datasheet says 2400hrs only(-1). Don't know if they work well in raid configurations. |

It's a good hard drive that is decent in it's write and read speed but not as good as some of my other hard drives. The thing that really get's me down about this drive is the warranty length.
