THERMALTAKE SILENT 1156 CPU
Comment:
Silent. Seriously, quietest heatsink I've ever owned. Superb heat dissipation. See beneath.Thermal paste comes in tube not pre-applied. Good quality material, not fragile. It's large. Not a con for my Antec 900 but for smaller circumstances it might not fit. Making use of stock thermal paste; keeps a Core i5 - 750 ʃ.0GHz ㅚC idle, ㅵC 100% load (using Prime95)Clips didn't give me any troubles.

Looks like a fantastic heat sink. A single of the screw holes holding the bracket was blank so the screw wouldn't stick. It can't hold down the base on the CPU evenly. I attempted all four screws and they all slip on that hole. Poor excellent testing on a new product I guess. Possibly I'm just unlucky. Manufacturer Response:Dear Client,We at Thermaltake apologize for the inconvenience this may well have brought on you. Please contact the ttsupport@thermaltakeusa.com for warranty service.Thank you,

My process idles in the upper 2x's lower 3x's and spikes in mid to upper 4x's. I am however to see a 5x temp reading on any of the four cores. I preserve the space the personal computer is in at 70 F ྵ C). I utilized this heat sink along with Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound. I put just enough thermal compound to barely cover the region that comes in contact with the processor. It requires up a lot of region above the processor. It's a rather large heat sink. But I guess that's not a comprehensive con given that the size does enable distribute the heat away from the processor greater than the modest stock heat sinks. If you have a modest case, especially a single with a major side fan, be cautious, since it could not fit. keeps my Core i5 Incredibly cool (we're speaking low 20's(c)) when operating at stock speeds. When running at 3.5ghz (huge overclock for this processor), idle is around 50, load 70. Not noisy, and has performed properly for more than a year now. Those clips are Particularly flimsy, and pop out of the motherboard if you move the case, assuming you can even get them IN the MoBo in the very first location. HORRIBLE attaching mechanism! Though it was challenging to get the cooler onto my board, and it has bumped loose a couple occasions when the case was moved, the overall performance this tiny guy puts out is phenomenal for the value. Totally great.

Good Design, Low fan noise, Keeps my CPU at a good temp. Fantastic Price tag. Really flimsy push pins. All through my install they fell out various instances and even now I am not confident that they are in that nicely. The far more I fiddle with them the worse it gets. In spite of that i would recommend this CPU cooler to any individual. Intel Core i5 - 750

Relatively inexpensive for an 1156 cooler, is undertaking what it is supposed to. Was obtainable at my regional Pc superstore. Screws had fallen out of the bag inside of the box, had to go looking for them on the floor. 1 of the screws (or screw holes) had threading difficulties and would not remain tight, it truly fell out of the cooler and onto the motherboard. Ended up utilizing a different screw I had laying around for the fourth mount point to the cooler. The temp on an i7 875k running Prime95 w/ stock thermal paste reached over 87C before I shut down the Pc, rebooting and applying some 5 year old Antec Formula 5 resulted in a optimum temperature of 77C in Prime95. Both had respectable low to mid 30C idle temps. I did not buy this at Newegg. I am not overclocking, and have no intention of doing so on this cooler - I got a bundle deal on the 875k.

No installation issues, snug fit. I'm not overclocking anything at all, my laptop or computer resides in a wood desk enclosure where airflow is somewhat restricted, and it's keeping my i5 quad core idling among 26-29 degrees C with typical activities, and around 33-34 degrees C when manipulating huge graphics in PhotoShop. It does not interfere with my G.Skill Ripjaws memory with heat spreaders. It's extremely quiet. I utilised Arctic Silver five instead of the paste that came with this unit. None

None Cheap connection set-up. CPU temps went from 36C idle with stock Intel HS to 72C. Have reset the HS 4 diverse times and the lowest idle has been 52C. Have been constructing systems for more than 15 years and this is the 1st time I have ever had a challenge with CPU HS. Yes I did take off the plastic cover more than the HS base. This item needs to be recalled.

Having owned this cooler for rather a while, I am nonetheless impressed with it. Regardless of what naysayers have been writing, the fan is Quite quiet. Fairly possibly the quietest I've employed in a personal computer develop. The ideal portion of it all, although, is its compact style. It fit my HTPC make perfectly, and moves an impressive quantity of air. Sure, bigger coolers will move far more air/provide much more cooling, but you run the risk of the cooler being too big for the situation/adjacent elements. Not to mention volume increases! For anyone looking to replace a stock Intel cooler with a high quality product, look no additional. As stated, a bigger cooler will move much more air. On the other hand, that is not the design and style of this device. Size/noise advantages are emphasized right here.

-High top quality supplies-Fan can be mounted numerous directions-Straightforward to install-Quiet -Doesn't keep incredibly cool-The connectors to the MB are slightly loose Though I primarily agree with the other reviews, I assume the cooling aspect isn't that excellent. And I agree with the other reviewers that the plastic connectors to the MB don't present a truly stable connection. The heatsink essentially fell off the cpu when I was transporting the Pc and I had to remount the heatsink. I may well have to buy another one particular due to the fact it doesn't seem to mount snugly and the temp's hover about 60 degrees Farenheit when operating something more than a medium load. Since this problem was somewhat my fault (should have been much more careful moving it) I nevertheless give it 3 stars.

Modest, silent, cools decent, bang for the buck. And I personally feel that push pins are a enormous pro. For some explanation, so a lot of folks have issues, but it's most of the purpose I purchased this cooler! I adjust out CPU's like candy merely since I get bored (I have an I3 530, I5 655k, and I7 870 correct now!), so I required anything that removes and reinstalls with the least headache. Anything with a backplate was just out of the query, so I saw this and am not hunting back. You can eliminate, adjust out a CPU, and reinstall within two minutes devoid of possessing to get rid of the back situation cover (and also assuming you have a case with a CPU backplate cutout). Now thats great. For the smal cost you can get an arctic freezer pro 7, which coolers a tiny far better BUT the fan is Much louder (I have one particular of these and they are LOUD) Not the greatest for I7's, while a lot greater than the stock. Keeps my I5 655k overclocked to 4.6ghz at 1.36v about 15-20c cooler than the stocker did at full load.

Super quiet fan, a handful of of the other reviewers dinged it on not being fully quiet but when I very first booted the situation up I couldn't even tell it was on. It's going to get a bit louder below heavier loads but nonetheless a fantastic purchase for the income. Did not run into any problems with the push pins, was able to remove the fan soon after it was assembled and reattach without issue. None.

The weight of this heatsink has no impact on the MB or mounting. Just make positive you install it appropriately and you don't have to be concerned!! How can you NOT install it appropriately? **LOL**

-Install was as simple as the stock CPU cooler that came with my i3-Really really even on full blast-I overclocked my i3 540 to 4.13GHz and Prime95 tested at 65degC (wich is ok) -Thermal paste that came with it is garbage (purchased articsilver five works significantly much better)-The clip connection seems low cost but so far its able to hold itself up, but i fear overtime the weight of the cooler will casuse some problums on the plastic clips.-Only gave four eggs and not 5 becasue i feel it should be in a position to maintain my i3 cooler but its not undesirable. Looks cool in my case and just barly fit. I have about 3ǚ of an inch to spare from it touching the side of my case.

I seriously don't know what other individuals people today are complaining about instalation was pretty straightforward no problems at all I use artic silver 5 with this heat sink on my i5 750 and retain it 33c iddle and 58c under load what its fairly very good. Not for overclockers !!! when I overclock my i5 to three.fiveand run prime 95 temps went up to 80c so if u want to overclock get a different heatsink For the value it's a fantastic deal!!

When held in location by hand kept idle temps below 30 Prime95 temps low 60's Doesn't not connect to motherboard/CPU nicely at all. On my initial attempt idle temps had been around 35c and when I ran Prime95 shot up to more than 80c I shut down prime due to issues of harm to CPU. Reapplied Artic Silver five and held in place manually, idle temps were fine Prime95 temps were low 60's so If I leave situation open and hold in spot this operates wonderful. Extremely simple to install with a small foresight. Cools actually properly. Fanspeed is adjustable by way of motherboard settings. It can be aimed to blow hot air out the back of your tower. The product name is misleading. It is not silent. Please, don't get me wrong, it's not incredibly loud, but I take concern with any manufacturer who tends to make a claim about their product and does not deliver precisely what was described. This influences a consumers choice to get the item and it is misleading. Of course noise levels are dependant on numerous variables and they will differ significantly depending on each and every people setup and surroundings. So, the manufacturer is generating a claim about there product with no clarifying what exactly constitutes SILENT as in their product NAME. As soon as I lowered the fanspeed via the motherboard settings the noise dropped significantly. The issue is that you lose cooling effectiveness by having to do so, and the truth that I had to do that at all tells you a thing. Please don't consider that I am bashing the cooler mainly because I am not. I think it is an excellent cooling resolution that functions nicely for cooling a cpu. If on the otherhand you are acquiring it for SILENCE you are bieng mislead simply because it is not SILENT. I gave the item four stars simply because it is named Thermaltake Silent 1156! If the word Silent was not in the name I would have given five stars!

Dropped my i7 860 temperature about ӴC both at idle and load (I am thinking the 8mm heatpipes that this cooler has genuinely helped judging from the cooler is in a relatively compact style). What I truly like is that this cooler is quieter than the stock fan, can't seriously say by how significantly, but adequate for my wife to stop complaining. None. Just bought a couple more for computers that I am helping my close friends with. (Sorry Newegg, discovered them a small cheaper at some other place. But you guys are nonetheless my ş choice!!!!!)
