Ubuntu 8.04 recognized this card right away and worked out of the box. Linux Drivers didn't compile. When I first tried to get this card to work, I couldn't get any visitors. I tried compiling the drivers but gcc began complaining. Turns out the cable was bad, but thats still no excuse to ship drivers that don't perform.

Solid card with solid driver help. I am a firm believer in buying NICs with nicely supported chipets they're all based on the similar design and 95% can use the similar or default drivers. Great throughput just restricted by the speed of the HDDs now. I backup 45GB of pics and mp3s across the network to three unique machines and the gigabit ethernet enables this to all take place at lightning speeds. Fantastic cost for a solid card no point in spending three+ times the amount for the very same device. None located. Low-priced, basic style, Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit recognized it and auto-loaded the drivers None identified I bought this with a motherboard that didn't come with onboard Gigabit LAN (I went for a combo deal that was quite superior vs. the mobo of selection) and Windows 7 x64 identified it with out matter. I have various PCs with Linksys gigabit NICs with the exact same Realtek 8169 chipset, but I have to manually point to the drivers for those installs, so this was refreshing.
