I like the blue glow. The fan is extremely quiet -- frankly, I can't hear it at all -- and it keeps my Velociraptor cool. Did not grant me the powers of flight or invisibility. Worth the dollars!

It's blue. Woo. With the fan in location, it won't fit into a regular three.5" HD bay. It raises the drive also far for the screw holes to line up.I must have taken a harder appear at it, but evaluations had been very good and most mentioned they could mount it in the bay underneath. I guess they taped it in there, or did as 1 user & bent the assistance tabs. As it is I dropped it into the bottom of the situation so that it would suck air down from the tough drive and vent it out. Perhaps it'll do some fantastic. Not worth the hassle of returning it. If you have a SLIM difficult drive, this would operate fine. It will NOT fit with a regular sized difficult drive. :/

Decent lighting, seems to move a decent quantity of air, very easy to set up, cable even has 1 male and one female four pin connector so you dont end up working with a four pin up. Also extremely quiet if its not bolted onto the drive (read below) When bolted onto the hdd the blades come into make contact with with the side and makes a extremely loud obnoxious noise, correct now its just sitting against my hdd and doesnt seem to be going anywhere. For 7 bucks and totally free shipping Im not complaining also much

cool and low-cost. didn't adjust considerably for me, but I'm not truly undertaking something remarkable with my HDD either. I just wanted to keep it cool considering that I'll be employing it for max data transfer but what sort of 7200 RPM 3Gb/s Sata drive gets as well hot? Didn't come with a playboy model Takes up a second hdd slot...

Cool Incredibly properly and look very good carrying out it! A single of my coolers tends to make a little quantity of grinding noise like one thing is against the fan on energy up. A slight tap on the case appears to quit it.

Adapted to hdd in my Cosmos 1000 case with no difficulty, by deciding on the enclosures nearest the front of the case; also can take away and leave out the unused enclosures to make area and enhance airflow. In other cases I have had I believe these would have also installed on the hdd with no dilemma. Cooling is important, keeping a 10000rpm raptor around 30C. Plugged into energy provide and worked. I located further rubberized washers on the another unused Cosmos 1000 hdd enclosures to make the fit of these fans secure. none that my affection for these devices can complain about; they are worth the quite affordable value; even if you were to purchase 1 just to try you would discover, unless your configuration is completely unable to accomodate it, that this keeps the hdd cool. Do your study: measure, stare at images of the item, think about how you can fit it onto your hdd, what you can do to rearrange your components if you need to have to make area. I spent about 3 months prior to constructing my Cosmos 1000 rig scrutinizing just about every detail; when I assembled the components almost everything worked! My extremely initial construct worked initially boot. These small guys are one particular of my preferred parts. nuf said

Does what it says. It's quiet and helpful, and it looks cool. None genuinely, but see other thoughts. I should have looked closer -- I thought this was essentially a case fan built to screw/clip on to the back of the hard drive cage and push air via it. No, it screws to the bottom of a tricky drive and takes the 3.5" bay beneath it. I found a use for it, though, and it surely operates.

cool blue led-incredibly quiet--- says it fits three.five hdd ( yeah when it is not in the case)i had to bend down the tabs that hold the hdd in the three.5 hdd slot to get it to fit. not happy about that. nonetheless functions the way it says, just tough fit. still would recomend just be aware you may well require to do some mods to three.five drive bay to fit.

Writing this review nowadays as I just received and installed the fan. Came swiftly (as usual by Newegg), and installation was a breeze as it fit perfectly on my SATA drive (just had to take away the CD-ROM above the drive initially as the unit couldn't just slide in based on the case setup).Operating Speedfan, mentioned drive I bought it just before was operating amongst 46-48C, which is a bit also hot for me. Speedfan now shows it at 37-39 which is the identical as the other two tough drives I have in this program. Mehh, can't see the blue light..no biggie even though. Right here's hoping this works as promised and doesn't burn out or something silly in a brief time. Otherwise, a excellent product and does the job.

I've had this in my case for nearly a year now. With the enhance in HDD size and quantity of internal platters, this also increases the heat HDD's create. Any small bit you can do to support alleviate that heat will be valuable to the life of your drive. With several circumstances, you can't 'adjust your internal airflow' to reach the drives... have you seen the quantity of wires that come with a power provide these days?!? Unless you have a big tower case, you merely don't have the capacity to 'create' airflow to all the heat-creating equipment. None I would also suggest- and this is based upon my personal knowledge- mount your HDD's horizontally. I found a correlation amongst brief lifespan and vertical mounting- all drives I had for years with out challenge had been mounted horizontally- but latest years I started mounting vertically when I changed cases. Soon after that, I was lucky to get six months to a year out of a drive. With this HDD cooler, I mounted the new drive horizontally and it's been running excellent. Note: if you have an SSD, it doesn't matter how you mount it due to the fact it doesn't have moving parts. Anyway, just my suggestion based on my own expertise.

It blows air... In that respect it does what it claims. But so does my exwife. Short lived and noisy, I bought two and they both sounded like a coffee grinder following five months. At about 14 months they both died a noisy and horrible death. Following their demise I observed that my drive temperatures only went up about five degrees C. By remounting the drives and placing in a greater case fan I eliminated the 5 degree diffrential. Moral to the story- forget the drive fans, just correctly install the drives and give superior air flow in the case.

Lowered operating temperatures 8 degrees celcius. Quick 80mm cooler sufficient to cool 7200 hot drives to last years. Not any that I know of. This is the best tough drive cooler on newegg for silent desires.

Cool blue led. Fan moves air. Was simple to attach to drive. I had to bend metal to get the drive/cooler combo into the 5.25 slot in my case. Fan is a bit too tall, a quite smaller bit but that was enough... Functions fine now, even immediately after having to play case mod. Not for a noob, but do noobs normally use challenging drive fans?

This factor is good, great RPM, keeps my Raptor cool under any circumstances, (AWESOME LIGHT!), I bought 1 initially to try it out, but now i'm buying my second trigger it actually works fantastic. No regrets. (easy install with screws) None, some people today may not have room even though its not so major. I'd say open your palm all the way, half of that would be it. Purchase it if you are looking for HD cooling. Don't appear elsewhere. You wont regret it.

They cool the challenging drives properly and are pretty quiet. When I 1st turned them on they smelled like burning bushings but soon after one night they don't smell anymore. Some other people today have comment on this as nicely.

Low cost, works flawlesly and really successful Takes up a conciderable amount of space and blocking additional drive bays. With only two drives in a four bay rack no problem but make confident they fit first The blue lights are useless in a closed metal case, but if you have an open or clear case, it ads some nice effects

Blue LED to match my case stuff...easy to install, appears to function as it is supposed to. Affordable price. Quiet. None really. Takes up a bit of physical space. Doesn't talk OR make toast (maybe that is a pro, not a con...?) I have no notion if it's truly needed for my construct or accomplishing anything meaningful in there. But it was affordable so I got it and included it in this project. Possibly it's just one more nifty blue light toy...I'm not actually watching my temps or doing anything intense so I don't know the value to serious performance builders or how much genuine cooling it's doing.
