Thermaltake Black LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

This case is every little thing I necessary. I wanted anything somewhat tiny, however still able to include fairly decent parts for gaming. I put in a CPU and GPU that were about a year obsolete intentionally, I didn't want them too large, or to put out as well substantially heat. This case doesn't waste a lot of space and as such, it can be hard to wire up every thing, but quite satisfying when you get it all done suitable. An EVGA 9800 GT can fit just fine with no touching the drive cage, and I even got a Thermaltake DuOrb to fit! There's about a handful of centimeters' clearance on all sides, so I'm content material. The piano black finish is prone to collecting not only fingerprints but also dust, but it looks beautiful when you hold it clean.Everything arrived intact, and was above my expectations. I can't imagine getting utilised a different case for this computer. I wouldn't say it's a con, but you need to know this truth:Heat is certainly an issue. Do your self a favor and obtain a PCI slot blower, it'll do your system a lot of very good. I'd also strongly advise purchasing the third rear fan. I did away with the drive cage absolutely. I got a 1.five TB HDD and paired that with a 64 GB OCZ Vertex solid state drive for the boot drive. That pairing will make for an astonishingly rapidly and spacious computer. Simply because the SSD is a two.5" drive, you can slip it correct in amongst the two five.25" drive mounts. It holds fairly effectively, and I'm not too worried the SSD will break. Those have a 1500 G shock resistance, you know!

The removable Media cage, HDD cage, Mobo tray, and PSU cage makes installation simpler. All are thumbscrews except the HDD cage and the PSU cage. Even then, a modest sized phillips screwdriver functions wonders. To boost the situation fans airflow, have your HDD in the floppy slot on the Media cage and remove the HDD cage. Simply because of exactly where the PSU cage is at, any tall aftermarket cooler will not fit. Use 1 that is much less than 100mm tall from the speak to point on the CPU to it's top; preferably a single that does not have a fan that blows down. Otherwise, you might be blowing hot air from the PSU on the CPU.Also, when working with the thumbscrews for the Mobo tray, make certain to alternate left and suitable. Otherwise, the tray will pull to a single side creating it difficult to screw in the other thumbscrews. Use tape to put wires off to the side of the situation to strengthen airflow. Also, make sure you have a PSU or some type of adapter that are AMP MATE-N-LOK (AKA those major 4 pin connectors) to use the fans. A modular PSU will help in this case a bit, but nothing at all a small tape can not repair.Overall, this point is worth the four eggs. If you want a big mATX situation, here you go!

This case is effectively believed out. Gorgeous fit and finish. I can see why every person rates it at 5 stars. You get a lot for the cash with this a single. Modular style is a large plus. None. Add a 60 mm. fan when ordering for the optional space supplied. I wish that retractable 7" LCD. was nevertheless obtainable for this case. That was a neat idea from Thermaltake.

The way that this factor comes apart for uncomplicated assembly is good. It seriously is easy to take apart. It is seriously uncomplicated to hide added wires from the PSU in the extra 5.25" bay. Good airflow as nicely. It scratches effortless (I'm not often the most cautious individual). Ive been thinking about going water cooling with it. Or mounting my 22" monitor to the best on hinges so I can close it, kinda like a laptop. Ill add additional information if i ever do any of that.

this a effectively build case fantastic air flow and looks excellent. its also very transportable going to lans, with my old mid-tower case it was annoying but with this case it was a breeze. the disk drive bay holder likes to get stuck when you are putting it back in so you have to push it in and pull up on them to get it correct. and if your working with IDE it can get a little packet inside the situation. all the thumb screws are really good to open and close with ease but it does appear a tad strange to have 8 or so thumb screws jutting out the back of the case.

Thermaltake Black LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
Comment:
The case looks good and is incredibly functional for its form aspect. It fits two internal difficult drives with area for airflow over them and the fans in the front and back are great for a low-mid end laptop or computer. I have it setup as my media Computer/server with two HDDs, a PentiumD 915 and a GeForce 7800GS video card. CPU temps get up to about 53C below load and the video card stays acceptably cool when gaming. (Left 4 Dead 2) The case is a bit cramped. A lot of believed was place into design in exception to cable management. There is no spot to place excess cables. A modular PSU is desirable. Looks attractive next to my home theater and the blue glow isnt negative either.

Thermaltake Black LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case

Great hunting case with a nice finish. Modular construction (removable power supply cage, optical drive cage, mobo tray and challenging drive cage) tends to make it uncomplicated to go back in and play with cable routing. It's a bit heavy for a micro ATX case, but if that's the cost of sturdy construction that's fine with me. Fits a full size power provide. Included fans are quiet, airflow appears just fine. Individuals have commented on the placement of the difficult drive cage, and it is a small awkward. I'm working with my mobo's onboard graphics, so I can't comment on troubles with graphics cards. I run two tough drives, and I've placed one particular in the cage and another in the 3.5 bay. I could get an adapter for the drive in the cage and mount it in my second optical bay, just to free of charge up some airflow. It's a micro case, persons. Don't expect ultra-easy installation from a thing that's developed to be compact. That getting said, I had no complications. The tough drive cage is a discomfort for some, a non-issue for others, such as me. I would strongly suggest a modular power supply. Excess cables lower airflow and are just plain obnoxious to deal with.Final thoughts? It's a sturdy, desirable, modular case that's fairly properly believed out. I'm really pleased with it and would invest in it again in a heartbeat.

I adore this case! Modular every little thing, really nice airflow, and some killer looks with blue LED equipment inside. Looks good along with my gaming rig making use of an Tt Armor+ case. The PSU sits correct more than where the CPU is so clearance for a decent CPU heatsink is minimal. There's only like 100mm of clearance for a heatsink. Chose a Zalman CNPS 8700NT and it fits great. Fans that come with the case don't move a whole lot of air, but the operate. Purchased for a budget develop with HTPC duties in it's future, operates good for what I will need at the moment. Thermaltake as generally makes some extremely nice cases.

Comment:
Nicely ventilated, shiny, built properly, good and sturdy. It is bigger than it looks but in the incorrect locations. I only want 1 difficult drive and there is place for 3 so the board sits far back but the clearance in between the heatsink and power supply is not much. It is challenging to come across an aftermarket heatsink that will fit in this space and if your power supply has the fan on the bottom then it will conflict with the fan on the heatsink ergo raising the proc temp significantly. The blue power led on the front is blinding bright so I blacked it with a marker and it is nevertheless super bright. It would be cool if you could opt for the color, I put a red fan in mine since my wife's computer is black and blue.

The case is incredibly user mod-in a position. A lot of the numerous drive cages can be removed/cut/Modded. I got a great deal w. a cost cut and ฤ rebate. Airflow is sweet in this case. I haven't really put my process together but, so i haven't located the cons however I put a Thermaltake W0116RU 750W in it and it fit no prob. The only problem is the silicone sound dampening collar doesn't fit about the finish of the power supply...it's a tight squeeze w/ no room to wiggle.

Looks actually nice. I really like the Optical drive cage. Removable motherboard tray. Quite nice pin out cables from the front panel headers. I appreciate the additional compact size. Included fans are loud and can\'t be controlled by the motherboard pin-outs. Tough Drive cage is in a seriously dumb location. The tolerances in the sheet metal are off and the difficult drive cages was bent from the factory to make the holes line up in the case... really poor QC. Power LED is a flashlight like the prior poster stated. Thermaltake.... incorporate fans that will connect straight to the motherboard. No 1 like to use Molex anymore.

This case is amazing in every way.Its stylish, sleek, and just plain cool.I had a mid atx tower ahead of and this factor even dropped my temps by 10c with a phenom II 945.I like the way anything fit into it, it was a easy activity to place every thing in.I had to break the power led connector in half in order for it to fit onto my board but that isnt even a con due to the fact I guess there are no standards there and it isnt thermaltakes fault that it didnt fit NONE! My difficult drive failed pretty much a month later...but this inst the circumstances fault...I just got a 500gb hdd for 35 bucks off here....

Wonderful case. Great construction, bigger than I most other lan boxes. Cd drives meshed flawlessly with the drive covers. Quiet fans. Can't monitor fans. Employing the ASUS P5QL-EM motherboard the placement of the drive cage interfears with boards serial ATA connectors, so I can't screw down the cage. Super bright power LED (lights up dark space).

Comment:
This is a premium LanBox case. It's durable and has wonderful air flow. One can shove a decent quantity component into this case as properly. Removable compartments make for easy installations and tight fits. There is nothing 'micro' about this case. It is massive. Ahead of purchasing measure out the dimension provided in the spec. Do it. You will need to know how major the case essentially is. Also as massive as this case is it nevertheless can't actually fit a 12" Video Card in it, nor can it do a dual video card set up. The case is awkwardly long and there is a fantastic likelihood some PSU's won't have extended sufficient wires to reach all around in it. No way to turn off the LEDs which is a thing I would of suspected from ThermaltakeDon't get me wrong this is a great case, but it might not be the right setup for you.

Nice compact style with fantastic, durable paint and heavy gauge construction. The case housed my ASUS 9800GT Ultimate card just fine which is no little feat given that the card is double-wide and 9.5" extended. I installed the HDD in the three.5" FDD bay but it would have fit fine in the HDD cage and nevertheless cleared the video card. The case has surprisingly good airflow for its size and average case noise. ?? I can't believe of any. The case performed flawlessly in the course of assembly and every thing fit and attached as it was designed.... I suppose the only con I can see is that the CD-ROM drive eject button may break off in time -- especially if there is no actual CD-ROM drive installed behind it and someone really pushes it in a approaches. Removable mobo tray! A thing you don't generally see in the less high-priced instances.Thick steel and sturdy construction make for a solid feeling case.Appears to have adequate cooling power (and quiet fans), but we'll see following I'm accomplished running my strain testsComes with extras like a cleaning cloth, a total additional set of all screws.Looks very good. Hard drive/ optical drive cages. These were a nightmare to install. I'm not sure who's bright concept it was to put the HDD cage right behind the graphics card, but it is a enormous challenge if you get a massive card like nvidia 260. Also, there is no way to open the side panels, so it is nearly impossible to get the single screw that holds the HDD cage down back into its hole. Then to make matters worse, the top rated optical drive slot is oversized, so only one side of your dvd drive can be secured (meanwhile flopping all more than the place though you try to get the very first screw in).Cable management is also pretty tough in this case. You don't have significantly space left when the PSU is installed. I would recommend going modular if you can. I actually wanted to give this case 5 stars, but the hassle of installing the drives actually hurt the rating. It has some fantastic features, and is a real looker. Nonetheless if this is some thing that you are going to be opening often to mess about with, you could want to reconsider.rig:MSI p55-gd45i7 8602x Seagate 500GB HDD4GB Ballistix Tracer 1600 (red)xfx ATI 4650500w Antec Earthwatts

As other people have stated this case is quite modular. I was surprised how simple it was to tear apart and by that I mean how substantially I could tear apart (motherboard tray, drive bays, PSU cradle, etc). Really sexy searching case. Go with a modular PSU and be confident you're management is how you want it to be before you zip-tie the hell out of it. Not really a con for the case, but you truly need to have to comprehend that cable management is an problem. Also be conscious of the CPU cooler height - I messed up. This is my first construct with this sort of case. I should have planned a bit far better. I tried going with a typical sized cooler and it was just too darn tall.AMD Athlon XII 965 BE8GB GSKILL ripjaws ƒGB modulesƛ DVD Burner1 Samsung 1TB HDtwo Samsung 500GB HD1 EVGA 260 GTXCorsair 650TX - should have gone modular, lesson learned on this one :)MSI 890GXM-G65 MBThe method isn't really complete. I'm still tweaking some of the cable management concerns and will be replacing the stock cooler. I may possibly also mod the best of the case and add a variable 120mm fan - I just foresee heat problem occurring. With my choice of vid card I will have to move the HD cage. It presently bumps into the card so I have it hooked into just two of the slots. I looked around for a screw hole to use but there was none. As one more user pointed out you could just drill a new hole and attach it that way - most most likely will occur this weekend.

Cute small case I adore it. Front case fan blows strait into the drive holder with extremely little clearance. Almost certainly going to relocate that 1 due to the fact it is not performing a lot to push or pull air by means of the case Remove inside plastic protective film just before putting stuff in. I completed my complete computer then realized there was film on the inside. Kind of a pain to pull off with anything in and it builds up a static charge.

Excellent mATX case, depending on your application- Solid construction- Removable motherboard tray- Removable HD cage- Removable Opt drive cage- Removable PSU cage- Thumbscrews for just about all fasteners Ventilation sucks. The stock fans just don't move adequate air. Unless you are sticking an Atom proc in there you're going to want to replace them. Also not considerably space for a 100mm+ fan unless you mod the case.Placement of the difficult drive cage could be a problem if you are organizing on making use of a full size video card. The cage sits directly behind the PCI slots. You could always remount the cage to the extreme left of the case but that will block the front intake fan. This is an excellent case depending on your application. I had originally bought this to fill it with a AMD PII X4 955. Regrettably the proc just runs to hot for the quantity of cooling the case can supply. I have since moved every thing to a Mid Tower case with H2O cooling. I strategy on reusing the case for a HTPC with a lower wattage proc. Shame on me for not planning superior...A couple of points to keep in thoughts if you are taking into consideration this case:- order replacement case fans Ư added 60mm fan for the open slot above the expansion slots. Just do it.- Get a modular power provide. It will save you from attempting to locate a location to stuff your unused cables- get some suitable angle SATA cables- discover a low profile HS for your proc (under 100mm, check the Thermaltake web page. they tell you max clearance for the HSF.)
