Thermaltake Black LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
Comment:
Quite Modular. I've in no way seen a micro case that can do what this case does. Slick searching. Got some attention at a few lan parties specially with the GTX260 card showing out the suitable side which it fits with some slight modifications. Fit my coolmax modular 600W power supply; I only wish the cables were longer that came with it. Overall, extremely impressed with what it can do. Not for the faint of heart - Would not advocate to the beginner builder. The case is practically modular to a fault:It could be my components, but this guy runs HOT (Phenom 9850 black, EVGA GTX260, GSkill 4GB, WD 640 GB HDD) but I've never seen my CPU go above 41. I accidentally closed the cabinet door exactly where my Pc sits for an hour to go play GH:WT, I came back and the CPU fan was operating at 5000-7000 RPM. The internal HD drive bay is a blessing and a curse. A blessing because it can be removed, but a curse due to the fact then you're only left with placing it in the external 3.five" slot. I had planned to use it for a SD/MMC/xD/Floppy drive I purchased, but now it's just sitting in my closet still wrapped up. The case sides don't come off! It was so challenging to navigate the cables via the case only by making use of the leading. 7 hours of build time versus the 2 hours of develop time it took me to construct an Ap***a box of the exact same size which included a power provide but it was not modular. It WILL FIT a gtx260 with some slight modifications, but you will need to have to use your three.five internal bay for your HD and it will really feel like it's been awkwardly mounted. If you have trouble fitting your CD-Drive or internal drive(multipurpose or HD) into the external three.5" bay, take the front cover off. Kudos to Tt for that ingenious notion. Overall Extremely impressed, but I can only give it 4 because of how lengthy it took me to develop. Don't get me wrong I love this case, but there are some that are less complicated to work with but require a bit of skill with a dremel. If you're looking for that challenging construct to fit your dreamiest components inside, appear no further than this case.

The Looks, High quality, just about every thing about this case is awesome. I have two Cons. The Price is way to high for what you are obtaining, 贎 soon after shipping to a lot. The Massive problem is cooling. This case gets hot, the two 60mm and one 92mm fan are not great adequate to cool this case if you are an overclocker. for what this case expenses I expected superior cooling. I am only more than clocking my CPU get 300mhz which is absolutely nothing 333 FSB to 361 FSB and My CPU temp 39c is lower than my case temp of 43c. The case is not performing properly at all as my basement stays 65 degrees all the time. But I can say it is the finest looking case I have ever create.

Intriguing how it comes apart. Wonderful design, looks awesome, fits conveniently on my desk. Running a lot of power via it and have no difficulties with overheating. Stupid difficult drive tray. If you are working with one tough drive, put it in the 3.5 bay, remove the tray and you ought to be very good. The challenge comes with some motherboards that have their SATA ports coming off the edge of the board, appropriate there exactly where the tray is. What i did, was move the tray towards the leading of the MOBO so it hooked onto the top 2 hooks rather than all 4, and drilled a hole in the bottom of the case to secure it there. When it was in the original position, had no issues with my GTX 470 operating into it. It will be hard if you add a lot of extra parts, was going with a controller panel, but too several wires got in the way. Get a fully modular PS, some have the extra wires that just get in the way750W psCore i-7 6gb DDR3Nvidia gtx 47080Gb SSD / 1.5 TB

Quite solid construction and looks fantastic. I dont like that you can not take off either of the sides. Makes it incredibly tough to function inside of without having pulling the whole motherboard tray out. If all the cables are lengthy sufficient thats not a issue but I identified some to be just short enough to want to be disconnected so I could get the tray out.

this case is awesome. upon unboxing the case comes apart like a transformer. you create from the tough drive out. the mobo slide out tray is fairly sweet, lets u avoid swearing alot and hating life. the fans appear to give sufficient cooling. ADD THIS CASE if you are building an HTPC. it worked flawlessly. alot of thumb screws. power button led is redicioulsy piercing. but that was basically corrected by unplugging the power to the led. this case fit together so perfectly i was amazed. this is a need to have for any htpc develop. cable management is the only issue ive had with it. but a few zip ties later and it was no longer an problem. #baller

three good fans. Looks tough. Like operating on a ship in a bottle. My only actual complaint is that the HD mounts are too close to the Motherboard. The sata connectors I used are horizontal, and I just barely had space to fit them. They could have found another 1ǚ inch there by mounting it closer to the front.

Comment:
Really handsome case. Incredibly highly and well engineered. Fantastic flexibility in installation. Extremely modular. Surprisingly roomy for routing cables and hiding excess. I utilised two SSDs in one 3.5 internal bay, and two normal 3.5 drives in the remaining three.five bays - no problem. Could have added additional, but would be tight and warm. I inverted the PSU so LED fan shined into the case, but added extra fan on mobo riser - still quite cool. Extremely sturdy when assembled, and tolerances are tight. No ugly gaps anywhere. Incredible fit and finish for the cost! Highly engineered and really modular - as a result not for the faint of heart. You have to program, program, plan your installation, and take it stepwise (I installed HD cage, then 5.25 cage, then mobo, then data cables, then PSU, then power wiring). If you forget one thing in step 4, you may well have to go back to step 1...therefore not for continuous tinkering. (I hadn't noticed that the INSIDE of the windows was also covered in plastic protective wrap till I went to eliminate the ouside wrap, so had to eliminate leading and PSU tray to get it out LOL but the reality that TT wrapped the inside as effectively was a different good touch). Leading 5.25 slot is finicky - wouldn't mount a controller (Antec Veris Multimedia Elite) so had to put it in lower slot. Tolerances on mounting the five.25 cage back and obtaining drive faces by means of front panel is really tight and requires patience to prevent scratching anything, but when performed looks fantastic - no gaps. Make sure you install external drives incredibly squarely. Modular PSU strongly recommended. Use a low profile CPU cooler. Thermaltake recommended BlueOrb to me, which would fit, but overhung mobo tray, producing it impossible to get rid of mobo tray once installed. Utilized the Zalman 92mm Cu-LED instead with wonderful results. I had 1 question, Thermaltake responded to e-mail in 90 minutes, with beneficial suggestions that answered my question. This is a incredibly handsome, extremely valuable case that will reward careful planning and execution. Very Recommended.

This is the excellent case for my girl friend. All she wanted was a pretty small desktop case that she could use for fundamental task like word processing and surfing the net. It has great airflow which surprised me fairly a bit thinking of it only has 3 tiny fans. Every little thing fit together rather nicely. This is the very first Thermaltake case i have worked with and i was really content with the develop quality. This case is little and difficult to function in. Its not a large concern for what it will be applied for. Put it together as soon as and just leave it for a couple of years til she is ready to upgrade. In contrast to what some other reviewers stated, this case is FAR from becoming large. Work with a mid or full tower case, and then come back and tell me you think this small factor is huge.

Thick steel chassis, properly thought component placement, and high quality included components make this unit a great way to enjoy a low profile, high efficiency setup. It's simple, sleek, functional, and nicely built; period. None. This is a case intended to be compact and that indicates taking the time to plan your installation is crucial to a excellent outcome. Slight modding was necessary to fit the large ATi Card. I suggest some modest zip ties for cable management.Running:PhenomII x4 ʃ.0Ghz8GB DDR21066ATi 48702x 74GB WD Raptors in RAID0800watt PSU

This case is very properly made, the finish is lovely, every thing is very simple to manage and take apart. Cost was best when I got it, came rapidly properly packaged and is now serving me well as a HTPC with a 8800 GT dual slot card inside. Properly the clear side window can be a con for some if your putting your rig together. You just have the added be concerned how will the view from the window look like right after you put all your stuff in. Its just additional function and $ to make your cabel managment inside the case look very good if you have your case set up sideways in widespread view. Its not that big as some say it is. It fits and blends in nicely with your average tv stand.

Thermaltake Black LANBOX Lite VF6000BWS Micro ATX Media Center / HTPC Case
Comment:
- Roomy interior with lots of space for huge graphics cards. A lot of clearance above the RAM slots on my MSI P7NGM motherboard so don't worry about working with tall RAM sticks like OCZ Reapers. Decent clearance for medium-height aftermarket CPU cooler but the stock Intel cooler for my 8500 Duo is performing fine proper now.- Modular style breaks down simply, in three hours because I opened the box I had everything prepared and neatly wired. Quite good for a picky wiring like me. It took me nearly twice that with my last develop in an Antec P180!- Sturdy frame when assembled. Steel construction is heavy but rugged.- Stock fans ࿺mm in front, two 60mm in back, space for a third 60mm above where a PCIx GFX card would go) cool properly and are quiet for their size.- Really good piano black glossy finish and I like the understated, elegant aesthetics- Fold-out drive bay covers- Front panel connections, such as 1394 (but few higher-end mATX boards have 1394 headers, like the DFI) - The sheet metal flanges on the PSU rack in the middle and the end will dig into my power supply. I had to put foam among the PSU and the leading of the rack to preserve the flanges from dinging my quite OCZ PSU's finish.- Included fans only have Molex connectors.- No mounted handle, I would have liked a detachable, best-mounted deal with that resembled the original Lanbox's design.- No solid drive bay doors, only includes the fold-down ones for CD-Rom drives.- Lame placement of difficult drive rack. Thermaltake ought to have moved it to the proper side of the case so it wouldn't interfere at all with a greater finish graphics card, it would fit there too! I may possibly get out my Dremel when the time comes and I acquire a 9800 GTX or GTX 260. I took out the HDD rack anyways though since it disrupts cooling and mounted the tough drive in the internal three.5" slot.- Why are the front panel wires two.5' extended for a mATX case?- Side panels not removable (but the windows are, see notes!) For this mATX create I wanted a potent personal computer in a small size, which meant compromises. In its stock form the Lanbox Lite can't deal with various tough drives and a lengthy aftermarket graphics card but it is doable with some modifications. For now I'm employing the integrated Geforce 9300 on my motherboard and I'll purchase an aftermarket card in a few months if costs drop sufficient. As mentioned above, the side panels are part of the case's design, the best panel and front panel are removable and the back panel slides out with the motherboard tray. I bought the windowed version because unlike the non-windowed one it had a rebate (I don't care significantly for windows anymore). Fortunately though the plastic "rivets" that hold the windows on can be simply popped off from the inside. Removing the window panels made setup a lot much easier, just recall to the windows back in prior to reinstalling the five.25" tray!Despite its shortcomings in the finish I'm impressed with this case. Futureproof and builds e

Absolutely a properly built case. Installation of the dvd drive in the top slot was a small much more involved than your regular atx case, but the overall design and layout of the case is truly properly thought out. Just take your time installing the components and read the manual. none The blue power light is a small overwelming, specially at night, but hardly a issue.

It was straightforward as pie to install all my stuff, my 9" 8800GT fits fine, the flip-down optical drive doors are amazing, the stock cooling is silent, I combined with a "Thermaltake TMG A3 92mm Enter CPU Cooler" and it fit perfectly. The top drive flap is removable for custom installs (LCD panels and stuff), I threw in a Ultra Fan controller in the floppy hole and I'm happy as hell. right after a few months it gets kinda dirty inside, but so does every single computer ever produced. Nothing a fast cleaning cant fix! Combine with neon wire and some CC tubes and you're the star at the lan party. Plus the included blue front fan looks sexy thu the black grill.

Sharp seeking. Enouph room for and factor you could picture as long as you remove the challenging drive cage *I was able to mount my HDD in the side three.five' bay. HEAVY! has to be 30+ pounds when its empty. At least the factor is flimsy although. Fingerprints show like nuts. Power supply wiring is a bit tricky. Efficiency of a desktop at half the size.

-Pretty searching-Fits normal energy supply-Didn't kidnap and/or murder my household I'm going to give the initial ideas that come to mind when I believe of this case... pit-of-despair, famine, and the final scene in the Wicker Man.1st off, this is by far the loudest case I've ever heard. If you've ever put a leafblower directly next to your ear, you have a good thought of what it sounds like. When I was installing Windows 7 my mom asked me what was going on with my pc. She's mostly deaf so I suspect she was reacting to the earthquake of vibration coming out of this heap. Then my laptop or computer suddenly died, but I'll get back to that. The interior design isn't just stupid, it's unintelligent in a hostile manner. The case is rather large for a micro-ATX desktop, but the poorly thought out spacing inside compromises this space. The challenging drive rack will get in the way of most longer graphics cards. This is created worse by the truth that there is at least an inch of clearance on the other side of the bay. Did not 1 engineer notice this? Cons cont.Fine you'll have to do some bending (of metal) to fit all your bits in. But suddenly you'll notice that the power supply is placed directly above the CPU, meaning you'll only be able to install the stock fan that came with it. Coupled with the awful airflow, be ready for some unusually high temps. My proc would rather sit in a microwave for 30 seconds that remain in this piece. Finally, somehow this unit managed to blow out my power supply. I don't really know how it did it, but it did. This is by far the worst product I've ever bought from Newegg, and it may well be the worst anything I've ever bought from anyplace ever. So, 90 dollars down the drain, large deal correct? But at times, like in this case, a bad purchase transcends the monetary loss. This past week I've really questioned why I put so much time, effort, and income into constructing rigs if rotten eggs like this are bound to acquired by poor, unsuspecting fools, like me.I hope you burn, Thermaltake LAN

Modular Design. Awesome. Can take Every little thing out and apart. Leaves tons of room for modding. Looks smaller but there is plenty of room for anything you could want. The side-view three.5 bay supports normal challenging-drives (not just Raptor drives as stated other places if you did any analysis). Nice Mirror Finish, Tool-much less for the most portion (other than mounting your hardware). Excellent ventilation. Uncomplicated to get rid of panels with the pushpins.Fits my Maximus III Gene, 600w Silent Pro PSU, i5 750 w/ a Major Shruiken on leading and GTS 250 incredibly nice with room to spare! Fingerprints and scratches show up quickly on the finish. When unpacking, make sure you take off the Acrylic Side panes, as the plastic protective covering goes underneath the window where it and the case come together (if you want to remove it all). The fans that come with this are worthless. Invest the cash for some fans. I reccomend these:VANTEC TF6025 60mm Case Fan - (N82E16811999615) VANTEC TF9225 92mm Case Fan - (N82E16811999617) **Note in a different evaluation they had said that only 90mm fans fit. 92mm fans will fit. **

This case breathes really nicely if you add the additional 60mm fan on the back. I'm not a big gamer, I put this laptop or computer together simply because I necessary something compact that provided a stable environment for a solid PC. This case is perfect for that use. I May run a high finish program here and there, mainly sound and video editing at an amateur level. Otherwise it's just e-mail, world wide web and word processing. I have in no way had an overheating or space problem. Undoubtedly a solid get. Haven't identified one but.

looks nice if you have the space for it ineffecient use of space, had to modify case to fit GTX260 with tough drive, no deal with, 80mm fan is too noisy, unplugged it following a couple hours, blue power LED is too bright for my taste following trying a failing with an APEVIA case i went with this with restricted success.initial factor I noticed was my video card wouldnt fit with the HD cage there, so I thought OK ill just put the HDD in the floppy tray, that was in the way too, had to bend it a little just to fit my card and it just barely fit, the PCI wires are close to the upper bracket. I drill a new screw hole for the HD cage (used two of the exiting metal slides) and secured it with a self tapping screw from the bottomredicoulous quantity of modding to make this case function and I am unsatisfied with the size and awkward shape of this factor, next time I will be going with one of the silverstone cases ideally with 120mm fans and with the connectors on the longer side of the case

COULD HAVE DID A Greater JOB WITH AIR INTAKE. THE HDD CAGE IS Appropriate IN Spot WHERE A Superior GRAPHICS CARD Should BE. POWERSUPPLY BLOCKS Huge CPU COOLER. OK THIS IS WHAT I DID ABOUT THE HARDDRIVE CAGE. I ONLY Utilised 1 HDD SO WHAT I DID WAS I Bought A five.25 HADD COOLER WITH FANS TO PUT IN THE BOTTOM five.25 BAY. THEN I REMOVED THE HDD CAGE ALL TOGETHER. NOW I HAVE A COOLER HDD, More AIR COMING INTO TO THIS SUFFACATED CASE AND NOW IM Using AN HD 4850. IM Sure I COULD PUT IN A 9800GTX OR A GTS250 AND SUCH. This case is perfect for creating a portable LAN rig. Have a Yorkfield 2.8 with stock cooler and a GTX 280 case stays a little warm but absolutely nothing that hinders performance. Hottest the proc gets is about 35-45 C which isn't poor taking into consideration I'm utilizing a stock cooler. Fans are quiet. None for the case. But I hate people today who put your tech level as high then don't know how to use a dremel or fully grasp what it means to have a micro case. Apparently some folks believe that this case is suppose to be as major as a full tower. And that you can fit something into it. Given that its a LAN rig and I only necessary 1 tough drive I just removed the tough drive cage fully and put the difficult drive in the external three.5" slot. Also to fit the GTX 280 I just had to take a dremel to the 3.5" bay and cut off a corner. But it is pretty a great deal what I had expected because I knew this was a little case.
