I ordered this router about a month ago. Shipping was even faster than I expected. kudos. The first thing you'll notice is it gets very hot, this is the source of the hangs and drops I've read abt in other reviews, I only had one. The fix for this is very simple: stand it up on end. There are a lot of features in the setup menu that may intimidate newbies, but the default settings are probably sufficient for most. Definitely use the secured wireless feature, the WEP setup is easy and works. I got all my computers and equipment (old & new) connected with no serious problems. There is room for improvement on this one, but overall for the price, it's a good deal. The Product Information & Detailed Specs don't show it, but it does have 5 T-100 wired ports (1 WAN + 4 10/100mps ports).

Blazing fast speeds on both G and N connections, absolutely INCREDIBLE range (4-5 bars everywhere in my house from basement to garage to backyard to bedrooms upstairs). The complements abruptly end there though. The connection drops almost hourly, and I have to unplug then replug in the power cable to be able to connect again. Trendnet support has no answer. There is no Firmware update. I'm tired of never knowing if my PS3 or laptop or cellphone will be able to connect from one hour to the other. Think I will be buying a DLink soon.

This router is easy to set up. This was the first time that I set one up, and it did take about 5 minutes. The only issue that I ran into was a id10t error of my own doing. The instructions don't tell you to restart your modem, and this caused me not to get a connection for about a half an hour before I thought to do that. Oops. Other than that, the router does produce a strong and consistent signal. I have had it for about 3 weeks now and have always been able to connect. The only problem issue to note is the router runs hot. The vents are located on the bottom so sitting it on a desk, etc. does not seem to allow proper air flow to keep it cool.

Great router. It worked right out of the box, and setup is super easy. It has only hung up on me once in the 10 days its been on, and I'm a heavy data user. Buy it.

The only problem I had was I need to upgrade the IOS which was easy enough... There is a standing issue with Windows XP Pro (I had on my laptop) and using WPA connection... You need to go to the Microsoft Web site and download the patch (''fix'') from Microsoft to prevent the secured connection from dropping out... I have had mine for some time now and runs good enough for the price...

Just upgraded my linksys G Router to Trendnet N Router. It took me total of only 5 minutes to setup and it was so easy. All you do is follow the quick installation guide and you're done. I've noticed a big speed boost from this router and the distance it covers is further than my linksys. It worked right out of the box and my webpages loads faster. Great price and great buy. Don't buy branded name for higher prices when you get the same quality with something like this. You're just paying for the name if you are. They all use the same chipsets.

The problem I have with this router is that even though my computer is connected and has a valid IP address it stops communicating and I have ''repair'' the connection. Sometimes it's good for days, sometimes I'm repairing my connection every 10 minutes. My home computer has a TrendNet USB wireless adapter, my Toshiba laptop has an Intel 8300bg Pro wireless card, and my HP laptop has a different card, I have the same problem with all 3 computers, so I think I can say the router is the problem. I lost my receipt so I don't think I can get it fixed by warranty. I bought this router on November 28th (Black Friday) 2008 and started having problems with it about 3 weeks after purchase. I bought this router to replace a TrendNet wireless G router that continuously was forgetting my settings and reverting to the factory default settings. That router was a year old at the time (purchased Black Friday 2007). Overall not impressed with TrendNet at all.

Don't waste your money on a Trendnet. I just returned mine. For some reason, my wired computers could no longer log into Hotmail. Then I lost my wi-fi connections on 2 laptops. I contacted Trendnet tech support but they could not solve the problem. Their suggestions became rediculous and desperate. Save your money and invest in linksys or dlink

Using with two TRENDnet wireless cards at about 50' Their software: easy to install. Network security: literally, single click easy to set up. WIRED portion of router- works beautifully. Unfortunately, the compliments end there. Uninstalled THEIR software to let Windows manage the connection (at their advice)- which worked. Having emailed support on four separate issues, I have never received a lucid response (aside from the uninstall recommendation). Before uninstall, I was continually losing wireless link- despite good signal strength. ''Dynamic DNS'' option simply does NOT work with DynDNS.org. Cannot decipher how to broadcast WOL packets through router, or if it's even possible with their firmware. IF they update their software & firmware, I believe this could become a great little router.

This is a great router and it never looses connection under normal usage. It has great signal to all my computers on just the wireless G setting. I have a wireless N card in my desktop right now, and it doesnt want to connect in N mode, but G is fine, so this is a good router overall. The only time it ever drops connection, is when you hang up an online web call. it then drops signal and reboots for some reason, but that only takes a minute or so. Buy it.

Great router!Worked right out of the box.The only bad thing is it lacks a means to time internet access to users.Namely our 14yr old!!
