The internal fan, three heat pipes, and acres of fins are fantastic. It's truly tall. It will not fit in a 4u case. Newegg's RMA policy is the finest.

This heatsink and fan is just incredible..im operating my Q6600 overclocked from 2.4 to three.2 and im idle at 21C and gaming i dont go above 35C..if you want a heatsink to obtain this is the 1! MAKE Certain you have a full tower case result in this factor is Enormous! was a big pain to get it in so i recommend placing in on initial to the mobo then put it in otherwise your going to have a heck of a time placing it in! overall this card is definitely the finest heatsink out there...i extremely suggest you get it!

This factor cools incredibly properly. I've oc'ed an E5200 to 3.5 and the temps are : 30-33 idle and max 55 below load and it rarely goes that high, normally a lot more like 50 or 51.I do have four 120mm case fans too though which helps. I consider the installation trickiness is worth the cool temps and it comes with a fan nob adjustor that fits into the expantion slots in the back of the case which is practical.(maybe other sinks come with this, I'm not confident)Its a little noisy on complete blast but extremely quiet at about 1ǘ-3ǚ speed. Its major and heavy. The fins are type of sharp. The installation is kind of tricky due to the fact of the size and it will only sit 1 way on my mobo(socket775) even even though it looked like it would go on either way. It doesn't mention that in the manual.Install manual sucks, but if you've performed this before all of the installation difficulties aren't that negative(this was my first build) E5200EAH4850corsair 750tx

Brilliant cooling. Changeable fan. Looks exclusive. Use fan controller to adjust CF if you are OC'ing. Make positive you mount this very carefully or it will rip your mobo. Really posssibly the biggest heatsink offered. Manufacturer indifferent to its' shoppers. Be advised that if this unit ships with missing or defective mounting hardware, or if you merely want to acquire hardware for an additional create, you’ll be fully out of luck! I wrote the manufacturer asking how I could obtain a replacement set of LGA775 mounting hardware (even offering to spend for it) and got a response back essentially accusing me of being a thief. They requested pictures of what was enclosed in the box as nicely as copies of my receipt.I supplied what they requested along with clarification that I was prepared to spend for the parts, but they’ve totally ignored my repeated requests. Sterling ineptitude; and now all I have is a paperweight.

Extremely excellent cpu cooler. I like the aggressive design and the way it hides the fan inside the heatsink. It's large but that just suggests much more cooling surface location. With Q9400 @ 3.1ghz beneath full load in OCCT or Prime temps don't go above 48°c EVER.Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3RC2Q 9400 2.66ghz @ three.1 ghz and rising4gb ƒx2gb) Mushkin DDR2 1066mhzCorsair TX 750w PSU NONE In order to fit this on the Gigabyte EP45-UD3R I had to modify the H bracket by taking a Dremel to the two small tabs that poke out on the ends, otherwise it will hit on the northbridge and mosfet heatsink.

This unit cools like a dream. I run it on a p4 640 overclocked from three.2ghz to 3.92ghz - (has been stable with zero difficulties or hangups for the last 6 months) couldn't be happier with the way this cooler performs - The Manual speed adjustment is a great asset and the stock fan that comes with the unit is extreamly fairly when i kept on low - i leave mine on high due to the overclock and it is nevertheless bairly audible - make a nice whir sound. The integrated mounting / thumb screws were uncomplicated to install and present a great secure attachment for this heavy cooler Only a couple minor nitpick cons right here nothing at all to drop an egg for - very first be cautious when installing, the fins are simply damaged i had to rebend a couple due to the fact of the size of the cooler - they are also very sharp so wear gloves or watch your hands. second the speed nob on the fan controller seems to be a bit as well huge I was inable to install the bracket with no cutting away a portion of the rail that seperated the card slots otherwise the nob would make make contact with with the situation and was dificult to turn - might be a case situation but something to make note of - also make sure you have the slot space for the fan controller there is no pwm selection on this fan - although in theory you could swap the fan out if necessary. I don't run the newest and greatest method and im not attempting to break any records but for it's objective this cooler is one of the ideal out there - just bear in thoughts it is very huge Present System:Pentium 4 640 o.c. to three.92ghz - stableABit AB9 Pro Motherboardfour Gig of Wintec AmpX 6400 DDR2 MemoryPNY GTS 250 XLR8 1 GIGTwin WD Cavier Black 1 TB HD in Raid Samsung Blue Ray PlayerAntec 6580 Case

Keeps items awesome. I currently have a G0 cpu, but highest temp is at 43 out of all cores, in the course of normal use. Immediately after a number of months, the fan started creeping out of the metal housing, generating a very loud rattle. I had to screw factors down. Maybe I missed a few screws for the duration of installation, but then the difficulty shouldve showed up instantly. Dont know why this happened. Weird. wish it was quieter. :P

Suprisingly better than the copper $taleman HSF that it replaced by at least -20°C. With the help of the Tuniq, my cpu temp never ever exceeds 40°C even when compiling ports with massive dependencies. Not negative for 90nm MP and a TDP of 125W! I also like the removable fan primarily for two motives: 1. it'll come in handy when removing dust create-up from the "blades" and 2. just in situation I ever program on replacing it completely, with say...a delta or a thing, the solution will be obtainable to me. Like other evaluations have pointed out, the supplied thermal paste seriously is the pits. cpu: K8 ࿺ nm SOI)ram: 6400C5DHX (x4)mb: MCP55gpu: NV50hdac0: AD1988Bhdd: HD103UJ (x3)cd0: DVR-118Lcd1: SH-S222Achassis: IPC-4098-BKpsu: 1000R14HEos: FreeBSD 7.two-RELEASEwm: Xmonad .8.1_2

Appears to do it's job. 120mm fan is great! I'm not certain how this fares against other cpu coolers simply because it's the only aftermarket cooler I have at present on the 6 or so systems in my residence. On the other hand, it is a small loud and on the q9450 w/out lapping, the temps are questionable. It's pretty hard to install, largely due to the fact it is so time consuming and very complicated unless the board is totally removed from the technique. Did I mention it's big? May well not fit in all situations. Don't use the thermal paste they supply. It is Truly undesirable. Use some Arctic Silver five.

I enjoy this point ... I had my doubts at 1st that it would even fit in my Lian Li situation, but it keeps my Q9400 at a balmy 25C idle and someplace about 30-40C under load. Fits simply on an Asus P5Q3 motherboard with really small hassle.I really like the retention mechanism on this cooler -- I essentially think it tends to make it simpler to assure correct get in touch with with the CPU heatspreader, at least in the case of the Intel 775 mount. Finding the stick-on back plate off was a discomfort (had to RMA my initial motherboard this was on) -- had to use a hair dryer to make the adhesive release from the back of the motherboard. The only other "con" I'd say is due to the height of this poor boy -- it makes my slide out motherboard tray utterly useless, since it has to be mounted once the tray and board are in place.

Kept CPU cool Tricky install, started out to rattle. Soon after a year or two with the 120, the best plate that holds the fan began to make modest noises, then full-on, loud rattling, no amount of fiddling with it would quiet it. It worked well prior to that, although.

Effectively constructedHigh quality suppliesEffectively packedExcellent cooling efficiencyQuiet! Had to file down the H bracket to make it fit on the moboH bracket desires a far more stable attachment to the cooling block to prevent rotationHeavy, the weight means that you have to be incredibly careful moving your technique to stop stressing the socket/mobo Warning: unmodified, this cooler will not fit on a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R mobo. Fortunately, the repair is effortless: get a typical general purpose b4stard file and file off the "ears" for the K8 screw holes (one on each side of the "H"). The cooler will also only fit in one orientation due to the place of some tall capacitors subsequent to the LGA775 socket. After on the board, there is no way to stop it from rotating because the bracket is fixed only at 1 point on the cooling block. Those points said, I am pleased with the cooler. It's enormous size made it hard for me to access the aux 12V power socket on the mobo, but it doesn't block RAM or other components. It keeps my e8400 beneath 45C at load, with the fan spinning at a near-silent 1500rpm.

Excellent cooler. Fair nice design, construction. Holds 120mm fan Too huge. I've cut myself on it several times attempting to install/remove it. Challenging to get to one of the thumbscrews. Doesn't seat flush with my new CPU... Most likely needs sanded flat or anything.I'm switching to Zalman... substantially smaller and comparable cooling. I replaced the fan with a silverstone 100cfm+

Fantastic heatpipe style, scores quite nicely in all evaluations I read, looks cool, fins won't cut you as very easily as Z*lman coolers, good fan controller (though I just set it at high all the time ;) ) Cools incredibly effectively if treated right (see cons) I ran this for about 9 months on my e8400 and was a little disappointed in the cooling capacity. I was idling about 40C in CoreTemp (with appropriate TJmax). Under load in prime95 massive FFTs it was around 72 to 75C! I figured it was my fault due to the fact I was overvolting my CPU to 1.4V to get 4.0GHz out of it (C0 stepping << E0 stepping). Nevertheless, I thought I'd attempt lapping the HSF and IHS and even though sanding away I notice a very concave section of the Tuniq right smack dab in the middle of the core. The e8400 IHS was in fact pretty flat by comparison. Immediately after lapping - idle at 29C and load never ever greater that 58C in prime95 and in no way higher than 64C in Intel Burn Test! For The Win! Its too negative it needed the lap job to be successful. Otherwise I would give it five eggs. What's up with the Newegg Content material Checker flagging F T W (without the spaces) as inappropriate? A couple of of the merchandise they sell have this on them! It signifies For The Win, and I don't believe that is inappropriate . . . lol

Hmmmmm... it kept the CPU from melting down??? Installed with 790i F_T_W and it fits, but only with the fan blowing either up or down.(unless you replace the SPP and MCP heatsinks.) That was ok, but installing with the flimmsy bracket took some time. Personal a HAF 930 chassis, which is pretty huge; this ???cooler??? fully inundated my airflow, which spiked temps on all internal elements. I replaced with a easy, however a lot more compact Blue Orb and noticed 10c drop in temps across the whole method; particularly GPUs and chipsets. Just simply because the airflow wasn't hitting a huge wall of aluminum anymore. Lapping job was pathetic; and who in their appropriate thoughts would stick a bracket on the back of MB with a speak to adhesive? Yeah, the instructions essentially tell you to bond the bracket to back of MB. Not smart. My tips; move on from this cooler. Not a fantastic purchase. Keep shopping!

Straightforward set up for me on an amd mobo of course. Runs really cool with a quad core phenom even beneath heavy use. Looks good in a complete tower case with a side window. Also major for me to use the intake fan on my situation. This is additional my dilemma than theirs. Just larger than I believed it would be. It's like acquiring Christmas trees. relatively strong construction; supposedly cools well; excellent option if you're into bigger-is-far better. Certainly the most atrocious mounting mechanism for socket 775 I've encountered in the last 10 years (I've had > 20 distinct aftermarket coolers)--requiring a balancing act of each of your hands (helps if you have a third hand); also has a lot of sharp edges waiting to draw your blood; three-pin as an alternative of four-pin fan header, while a rheostat is included (but most individuals who would spend for a premium cooler most likely don't purchase price range boards, and most medium/premium boards already have an automatic fan control) Don't bother with the rebate and save oneself a stamp. I submitted two Tuniq/Sunbeam (same organization) rebates a year ago and by no means got them back. Emailed them a dozen instances--ALL unanswered.
