I have a case that just does NOT have great air flow. On top rated of that my cpu is a Q9550 Core 2 Quad ƒ.83GHz) those darn things appear to just run hot. Even though I hear they can handle lots of heat it was scary to see it idle over 50 C and under pressure on up into the 90's :( This cooler solved that dilemma instantly, it idles now in the high 30's. Works so nicely I am basically thinking of overclocking it! My case had a cpu airduct, with this cooler it of course had to be removed and now the vent that was meant for the airduct looks a little funny with the leading of the cooler nearly touching it but it doesn't hurt the performance any. Other evaluations mentioned they had difficulty installing it and/or that the cooler moves about when installed... I did NOT have this challenge at all. It will be difficult to install if you can't get the power provide and so on. out of the way but other than removing your mb to install the integrated backplate (only if your prior cooler was not allready the screw down kind) it was a fairly straightforward and straightforward to figure out install. Yay for this cooler!

It is a wonderful heat sync and will preserve pretty a lot any possessor it's compatible with cool. Have not had my possessor go more than 40 C even when I keep it on 24ǝ. The lighted fan is a superior appear too if you have other lights in you system otherwise if it's the only light in your case it looks rather dumb... The fan speed adjuster is also a superior feature. It lets you balance out cooling with noise and yes it can get loud for a 120mm fan, so if you are searching for a quiet method. This is probably not the heat sync you are searching for. The factor is fricken big if you DO NOT have an ATX mid tower or bigger DO NOT get this. It will not fit in a mini or micro case so dont even bother. The fan itself is 120mm add the rods going to the possessor and the motherboard and it has about 2cm when I close the lid on my ATX mid tower. Also an additional word of caution if you have a side vent with a fan make excellent and confident its not close to your possessor if you have a mid tower or it WILL NOT fit. The LEDs on the fan are not the brightest and due to the fins the only light comes out from the sides, so don't expect a lot of light coming from it. (I know the picture shows it being very bright, but its not)This is the case I use the only differences are the inside and back are black paint instead of the bare metal.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811156060The heat sync misses the side fan by about half an inch.

Installation is fairly easy even despite what I have written in the cons section. Fairly quite. Calls for you to totally eliminate the mother board to install. This factor is huge make certain your case has the space. Happy with the purchase so far. I don't expect any difficulties.

soon after reading all of these critiques on here, i changed the fan ideal out of the box to a silverstone 130 cfm. it doesnt keep my q6600 super cold at 2.4ghz...but overclocking is wonderful! got it up to 3.93 stable at only 47 Degrese celcius appropriate now its down to three.2ghz at 41C i have a thermaltake armor case with the 25cm side fan..it does hit the fan, but just the edge so it doesnt hinder the fan at all, didnt have to mod at all, while some of the screws to fasten it to the mobo had been virtually impossible i got this to replace a zalman 9500 hs. i broke the piece that holds it down to the motherboard..it never ever could maintain my processor this cool. i had it at three.0ghz tops at 50c at 100% fan speed...now im at three.2 at 41c idle and 42c full loadthis factor just doesnt let my processor get hot, even at 3.93ghz i was only at 47-49c proper soon after running 3dmark06!

Dropped my overclocked Opteron 15 degrees instantly. Looks definitely amazing. Does what it's supposed to do and then some. Operates with all major sockets. Looks really, definitely amazing! Installation was a pain on a 939 program. Directions are lacking, but they do tell you enough. The thermal paste is thick and clumps together, generating it genuinely difficult to get an even layer on the CPU. It does appear function fine even though. I put my technical understanding of this kind of item as somewhat high mainly because the complications I had installing this could incredibly well have been my fault. This was my initially screw down heatsink install, so... Had to get a friend to screw it down even though I held it down. It's cooling a Opteron 165 clocked at two.7GHz at a nice 19c idle and 32c full load.

It is one of the ideal HSF out there no doubt. I think it wants a little lapping to get the most out if it, but does fine without it. I was finding about 29-33degC idle and around 55-58degC load on a Q6600 @ 3.4 around 1.425vcore. It's sorta big in the case. Mounting technique is a little troublesome to figure out given that the instructions are vague in some areas.

nice unit. style nice and really fan They don't honor the rebate and that was a factor in purchasing. No telephone number to get a hold of them, their support doesn't respond either. I would go somewhere else as if one thing doesn't function, then your stuck. Too risk. I think I got lucky that I didn't have a difficulty. Check their web site out, no way to get a hold of them. I sent it in 3ቭቦ, in no way heard from them, not even an email. I wouldn't buy it again.

Tuniq makes a nice product. This is no exception. Keeps my OC'd e8400 Wolfdale @ three.6 ghz really cool. Max temps I will see with this are ㅥC at max punishment. I had no issues mounting this on my P5N-D Asus motherboard. Great product, I'd suggest this if your looking for an air cooling remedy. Only Con on this piece is how monster it is. Make certain you have plenty of space in your case b/c this guy is big. I had to mod my fan/side panel on my XCLIO A380BK Full ATX Tower to get this thing to fit. Incredibly pleased with this cpu cooler. If you're searching to acquire, just make certain you have the space in your case and you'll enjoy it!

Heavy. Not enough to harm my motherboard though (Asus P5Q-E). Keeps my e8500 (stock speeds, C0) at a constant 16-17 celsius. I've noticed it as low as 14 celsius. In no way breaks 30 under full load. It could be since I have fairly good airflow in my case, but I am nonetheless fairly pleased with these temperatures. I am also employing the Tuniq TX-two (included with the Tuniq Tower is TX-1, I haven't employed it) thermal paste. The blue LED fan is rather bright, I have a clear case so it's a nice touch. The knob on the back controls the brightness of the LED as nicely as the fan speed. Kinda noisy at max fan speed...doesn't bother me much though. But I can't hear it at the lowest setting, and the temps I stated earlier were with the fan speed all the way down. The backplate fan speed/LED brightness controller's cord length can't be adjusted or removed, although it is extended enough to reach the top backplate slot. The little pin on the "H-form" bracket that holds the heatsink in location is kind of modest, but if you screw it down all the way to exactly where it's very tight, it will hold just fine.I remember when the blue LED fan version was the very same cost as the non LED fan. When I got it, it was ŭ additional. Now it's 10. Yeah, I guess that's a con. I'll nonetheless give it five stars instead of 4 although. Combine this with Tuniq TX-two for some very good CPU cooling. My e8500 stays at 17 celsius, I've observed it as low as 14, and doesn't break 30 under load. Looks superior than the Thermalright 120 or the Xigmatek 1283 IMO, and gets the job Carried out. Can't beat it!I am preparing to OC my e8500 to 3.8 soon, I will attempt to write another review for the temps I get then.Newegg owns.

Powerful fan, speed controller, blue led looks nice. Idles my q6600 oc'd at 26C !! I didn't think that was feasible. Although running 3dmark vantage, the hottest it got was 46C. Looks wonderful. Major. Makes me fear of my mobo cracking. And also kills you to mount. If you have an Antec 900, mount it so the fan blows air out the leading so u can fit a side window fan.

Excellent cooler. I have had mine for 2+ years on a assortment of Nforce4 mobos and now on my P5N64. No difficulties installing. My fan nonetheless works as new. Does make metal when tightening thumb screws. I attribute this to the coil springs digging into the parent metal on the thumb screws and the "H" bracket. To remedy this situation dig up some of your old Fiber washers that come with most case hardware and isolate the coil springs with a washer on top and bottom. Metal shavings will be history. It does take work to install this monster. If you feel you have to have a heatsink of this magnitude then you must anticipate to have to have some sort of skill to install it otherwise go obtain a LEGO cooler kiddy. Large situations want only apply.

it's low-cost. it kinda works... not uncomplicated to install, doesn't read on my motherboard, affordable construct... I bought this due to the truth that it was low cost and had looked as though it may do nicely, it was hell to install, I have a couple of cuts to prove it, had to pull out my motherboard and the complete encounter was just not great. I get it sitting on my cpu(am2+) and it moves about like it's sitting on ice, I boot the system and the bios tells me that there's no cpu fan, but that's okay since as long as it works it doesn't matter, I run my computer system for a whilst it's doing stellar basically for a little whilst, getting great temp readings and then the temp spikes whilst it's not even running the cpu at full load... the thermal compound was still there but due to the instability of the contact and moving about, it had pushed out a lot of the thermal compound and that's the best reason I could feel of, getting me a zalman cnps10x I believe this will be the 1 that'll do well with my overclocking! keeping my fingers crossed!

This monster definitely does the job. I read many reviews and decided to go with the Tuniq 120 since the Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme was too significant. I decided to lap the bottom of the heatsink due to the fact of the milling marks. I'm glad I did. I'm finding idle temps of 12 - 15 degrees C (I keep my room a small on the cool side. This will change as summer approaches). Load temps following playing CoD4 or Halo 2 are correct around 23 degrees C. HS was really straightforward to install and fits tight with the 4 screws and base plate. Applied the original 9 blade blue LED fan that came with it, the blue glow really adds to my case. I am extremely pleased with my decision to use this HS. Significant size (somewhat), Make sure that you measure and re-measure to make certain that it will fit in your case. I had just mm's to spare. Had to move my side case fan to the outside. May well just take it off entirely. I was a small worried about the weight of the HS, but it isn't a dilemma. I will use caution on the other hand if I transport it to my LAN party.

Cools remarkable, able to get my E8400 to 4Ghz with out worrying about cooling, the fan is quiet and effective, even on full. The contraption its got going holding the fan in is fantastic, except mine was kinda stuck and had to pull. Bottom of it was alittle curvy, but absolutely nothing that can't be fixed. The fins where kinda bent alittle, which I was kinda mad about sense it cost so significantly.
