Great heat sink, I have the PhenomII X4 940 and with the stock fan that it came with weas not too great. Went and got this fan and heat sink and my temp does not go beyaond 83 degrees f with a complete load and using all four cores. I recommend this on a 5 Star.

Best CPU Cooler
Comment:
The Chiltec CPU cooler is easy to install, provides a nice display to monitor CPU temp, and works great. It looks cool, and it is cool. It may be priced more than other CPU coolers, but the value is here. Performance is everything in a PC and keeping the temps low is a big part of it. I have three home made PC's built in the last 12 months and all use this Chiltec cooler. Easy to install, simpler to use.

Exceptional Air Cooler!!!!
Comment:
Excellent cpu cooler. Using on a Q6600 2.4ghz overclocked to 3.26ghz and currently running around 33 degrees and barely over 40 at load. EXCELLENT product. Would definately buy again. Just make sure you remove your motherboard and install it securely and tight and it will for sure do whatever u need it to do.

Has trouble with i7
Comment:
This fan started out good, but as you OC an i7 it had trouble keeping i7 processors cooled properly. Would probably do better with dual TEC and better base design. It kept an OC'd i7 at 70c-80c which is not so good for an over-sized cooler with TEC. It's fan needs a bit of work too, I don't like having to design Push Pull to get the fan to properly operate and keep the system cooled.

Nice Nice Nice
Comment:
I had a hard time putting it in, but that's probably because I didn't check the clearances first. Other than that, amazing fan. Keeps my CPU at about 30 Celcius while I have my cpu overclocked 25%.

DOES NOT MATCH FROM DISPLAY TO BIOS THATS BECAUSE THE TEMP. BEING DIPLAYED FROM THE COOLER IS THE TEMP OF THE THERMAL ELECTRIC COOLER .TEC. NOT THE CPU THE TEC IS A QUARTER INCH COPPERPLATE AWAY FROM THE CPU AND IN TURN SHOWS A LITTLE COOLER BUT I FOUND WHEN THE CPU LOAD IS CONSTANT AND THE TEMPATURE IS CONSTANT BOTH WILL READ THE SAME AFTER ABOUT 5 MIN RIGHT NOW MY CPU IN WINDOWS DIPLAYS DISPLAYS COOLER THAN THE READOUT ON THE FRONT OF THE DEVICE.

Excellent product, Buy this cooler!
Comment:
I purchased this back in May of 2008. It still works perfectly. Runs quiet. It keeps my Q6700 cool, idles at 26-28C, and when gaming its 33-35C. At this writing I have racked up 8779 Hrs, Oh! make that 8780 Hrs. I just purchased another and I know TD will not disapoint. Always fast shipping, and the best service.

Best Cooling Product Ever
Comment:
This cooler could easily be the best cooler to date that I ever own. It's quiet, keeps my Phenom II x4 945 125W CPU cool. CPU utilization will not stay at 50% or 70% or even 100% for a long period of time. This is unless you're working on high level computation or that you're running an application that is using so much system resources. So, this cooler is definitely recommended for it low volume levels when running on those loads. I bought it at 90 bucks when it was on sale. In terms of how much temperature difference, the stock cooler idles at 54c. The ChillTEC idles at 44c watt. At MAX load, the stock cooler gets about 58c nearing the threshold of the CPU (64c for this CPU). However, the ChillTEC is about 50C without the whirlwind fan noise. Who cares about the ill-design box it comes with, this cooler is worth the money.

alright
Comment:
Installed this on an X58i a few months back, works fine but be warned: the side panels do unscrew themselves over time and rattle. also, the fan likes to operate in bursts which tends to get annoying. I'd prefer a constant quiet fan rather tan hearing it kick in at high speed every once in a while. the LCD panel works fine, although the temps are not exact. my 17 920 runs at 25 idle and 40 ish max load. easily overclockable; i've had no problems in the 3.2 ghz range and above. consider looking around before buying the build quality of this one is where it seems to lack. i get the feeling its falling apart on me

Great Product
Comment:
I had purchase this item a year ago and I am quite pleased with the product it works efficiently and it dose the job great. I have 1907 hours on it and had no problems with it. For those who stated the it was the worst product out there did you check and see if you had used the right thermal grease before you knock down this product check you application to your CPU and then you may find the mistake you had made.

100$ paper weight on a cpu
Comment:
This is gotta be the worst cpu heatseek fan I have ever bought. The temp lcd read out looks cool but doesn't work and cpu is running hot. It does not do what it claims in the video because in order to do that it would have to be reading the temps right. It does look cool but I could get the same preformance out of a stock fan. Will return and never buy again.

purchase the longest extended warranty you can
Comment:
I purchased this product less than two years ago the first one lasted about eleven months the fan stopped working after numerous phone calls I was sent a new one it lasted about nine months same fan problem this time i was sent just the fan and was told to remove the four screws unplug it and replace what they don't tell you is if you installed the cpu monitor that comes with it there are an additional three wires that you have to remove from the existing plug and install them in the new plug which is difficult to do if you are not careful I have decided that if this fan fails I will not bother replacing it I will have to remove the motherboard, remove the bracket from the bottom side of the motherboard to put the original cpu fan bracket back on. Had I known then what I know now I would not have purchased it.

Never Again
Comment:
This cooler may be cool looking, but the performance sucks. The temp read out is way off on the controller displays first of all( do not trust it when OC). Next is quality the plastic pieces around the out side do nothing but prevent more air flow and if they become lose they will rattle. I have had mine for about one year, the usage meter says just over 5000 hours and guess what, the fan went out two days ago. this cooler may look nice and promote a lot tec. and features but just doesn't have the cooling ability that a 100$ cooler should have. I would never buy again.

Good for stock frequencies, Poor for installation
Comment:
I install it on a Q9550 and with stock frequencies(2.83GHz), it can get a stable temp in idle at 28-29oC and 46-48oC in full load. With a light overclock(3.6GHz) temps rises over 80oC in full load in few seconds. I can't imagin over 4.0GHz... The stock fan (92mm) is a little bit noisy at full speed and we cannon controll it or change it because of the drive bay controller's connector. The installation is a total mess: - We have to pull off the motherboard out of the box; - The screws are under the heatsink and if the mobo have big chipest heatsinks, it is very difficult to screw them. -The fan goes over the ram' slots and if the ram have big heatsinks like Corsair Dominator you loses a slot. Voila

i purchased this cooler in the hopes of hitting 4ghz with my q6700 and staying cooler the 70C i was sadly mistaking in thinking this product could do that i am currently using a Nirvana and my temps at 3point6ghz under full load barely hit 60C with this cooler i was hitting over 80C The temp monitor that it comes with is way off as well it never went over 40C when my bios and temp programs were saying i was at 80C

Just bought 2 more!!!
Comment:
I love these things!!!! Easy to install, keeps the CPU very cool compaired to straigh heat-pipe or air. Looks very impressive on any system you sell. It's loads easier than plumbing and almost as effecrive, and doesn't have the draw-backs of liquid cooling (maintenance, and the risk of leaks). I'll grab a couple more the next time there is a REALLY GOOD sale price and put them in my stock closet. I use them on all my Quad's and anything that runs particularly hot. I have 3 running at home and in the office, and the new Quad Media Center I am in the process of building will also get one. The redular price is a bit steep, but if you cna get it for less than $120 they are easy to re-sell when you can show people how cool your Quad runs. At $110 DON'T MISS A GOOD DEAL!

Wow just doesn't say enough!
Comment:
This cooler is most likely one of the best you will ever get for the money. I was concerned with the size at first, but this cooler fit into my mid-sized case without a problem. With the TEC technology, I have seen a 20 degree C difference in cooling(I've gone from approximately 45 degrees to anywhere between 25 degrees - 32 degrees). If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely purchase this cooler without hesitation!
