Better than straight air
Comment:
I got this with a new system. I do mild OC and was looking for a water system when I came across this. Did my homework and read reviews, its not as good as water. If I had to place this I would put it directly in between Air and Water. Great for mild OC, but not for Hardcore users. i7 930 3.5GHz 1.165V at about 70C. All in all its exactly what I expected it to be. One neg, the 5.25 bay shows a temp, but its not anywhere near the cpu temp with Prime95 running. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE REALTEMP RUNNING WITH THE ALARM ON! I almost cooked mine due to trusting the ultra 5.25 bay readout.

Love this chip cooler
Comment:
I have this sitting on top of a AMD Phenom II X4 945 Quad Core Processor - 3.00GHz. When idling without overclocking it keeps the processor around 85 to 90 degrees F. When overclocking with heavy graphics, I've peaked it at 110 degrees F. This is much better than a regular fan where the temps would peak around 135 to 140 degrees F in the same situation. Wish I could adjust the fan speed at certain processor temperatures. It seems like it's preprogram works well. It is a little odd installing one of these for the first time, but it is not a difficult task.

does the job but not much else
Comment:
I was expecting a little better preformance It does work averaging a cpu temp between 95 to 100 and no Im not over clocking this system just yet And beware this thing is HUGE If you have a case fan blowing directly on the cpu it probably is'nt going to fit For the same money I could have gotten a liquid system

I just installed it on a Intel Core i7 920 2.66GHz. It's a little pricey but, hey it really keeps this processor cool. The one problem is the fan is a little noisy.

Awsome cooler
Comment:
This is the best cooler I ever had . Was installed on a 775 socket with Core 2 Extreme QX9650 and on a full load keeps my CPU at 108F (42C) and 89F (32C) idle . Great item for the value . Just make sure you have enough room on your case because this cooler is huge .

Pro's: It feels very durable, very well built. Looks very nice, the Interface for the control box is very nice and full of info. (Living in Texas(weather is commonly up into the 90's and up with hot summers)) comp run 40-45 celcius while playing games. Able to change color of display to match PC's. Con': Its quite pricy for what you get. Im using Phenom 9850 black, and with Stock fan (includes with chip) it would run games at 45-50 celcius.( Only payed $90 for it, but thats $90 for 5-10 degrees cooler and a little display). Aswell as the Display has 2 buttons which are pretty much useless, One to change the color and one to change the temperature measurement. Other Thoughts:Im using a MSI AMD 790FX ATX Motherboard and due to the placement of ram and the build of the fan i have to have the fan backwards so its fighting for air with then back case fan, which might be why it has low results.

Bought it for a gaming pc and love the way it works. Allows you to monitor the temperature, change display color while keeping your cpu cooler.

Cools Great
Comment:
This CPU cooler works very well. The only problem that I had was that it would not fit over my memory chips. I'm using the Corsair Dominator chips. The memory is to tall to fit under the cooler so I had to mount the cooler vertical. No proble for my setup but it may be a issue for you.

More than I expected!
Comment:
Ultrachill ChillTEC is a must and its it very easy to install. Upgrading from a Pentium 4, I knew I would need more than just a standard fan. So i bought Ultrachill and its great, I can see the CPU temp via the front panel. It comes wit thermal paste by the way.

Fire Hazard
Comment:
Has been a great fan, but mine burned out on me tonight, literally. The plastic connection that goes into the tec port in the back of the 5.25 inch display controller shows signs of charred melted plastic on the right side. I had to use needle nose pliers to pull the connection out of the port. What I found was two prongs with the right one completely black. I'm glad my system malfunctioned to allow me to find this, as opposed to it working and I have a house fire. If you have this fan you may want to check your connections.

Excellent product

fantistic product! no matter how hard I push my system it holds at 27 cel. got it once to jump, but the fan reved up & the temp came back down in seconds! GREAT PRODUCT!!! Due to it's massive size make sure you install it on the board before placing the board in the case, it's a whole lot easier that way.

Great Product
Comment:
Have had the chilltec for approximately a month now up and running and it is very good cooler, probably the best i have owned to this point. Install was easy and quick. Temps have not gone above 40degrees. I did have to return the original due to damage on arrival, possibly due to shipping. Some of the fins where badly bent. They promptly sent me back a new one after i had returned it at no cost to myself. Thank you. I would recommend this cooler to anyone with a high performance machine that needs some extra cooling.

Freezing, Excellent, Up to the Task, Very Cool
Comment:
I've had this unit for 2.5 years as of Feb 2010. As I'm writing this review my current TEMP is 29 C which is unbelievable; well I guess chrome helps :) Converting 8 GB of AVI to FLV yields 37 C Playing Modern Combat at 1920x1080 yields 35 C This is extremely cool; buy it.

Wow! It really keeps it cool!
Comment:
Well constructed and well thought out. It took me awhile to understand how to install it, but I just kept looking at the parts, the instuctions lousy print though, and doing dry runs without the MB. When I finally put it together, it was simple. Warning. This thing takes up a huge amount of space. Use a full tower. I got the cooler master and definitely recommend it with this chiller. The readout was nice. my cpu runs consistently around 71 degrees F no matter how hard I push the machine.

Best Fan-based CPU Cooler I have ever seen
Comment:
I had a serious overheat problem no matter what fan system I used, or how I directed the airflow. Even using a HAF case, I managed to get my system up to critical temperatures(I run it hard and fast). This cooler has kept that same push, with twice the cores(I went from a dualcore to a quad), at a temperature range of 25c-31c, whereas my HAF system would waver between 32c and 88c. I'd recommend this to any and every low budget enthusiast(less than $1500 to build a complete system).

How about those fans?
Comment:
Don't have this product. Like how it looks. Probably works great until -dunt dunt duuuuu- the fan craps out. I own two of this mfg's products; a power supply and a CPU cooler. Both have had the fans quit working. Power supply lasted less than a year but Mfg was good and gave me a whole new unit. CPU cooler fan on the wifes system quit after less than 2 years. CPU is still alive, thank God. You don't wanna have the wife's system die in the middle of face books cafe world. Just have to wonder about the quality of the fans. Can't really say anything bad about the cooling units, just seems they are using really cheesy fans.

Love the cooler Hate the Screws
Comment:
Was very bulky and hard to put in but worth it, dont be afraid to change how it mounts if you have an exhaust fan on the top of your case. I did it and wow huge boost in performance and my dominator memory fits nice next to it. The screws where a bit crappy did not like not knowing how much preasure was being used. Does make it difficult to put the motherboard in tower once its on you need a big case and make sure your memory wont get blocked by this.

Ultra's customer support rocks!
Comment:
i bought one of these a year ago before they supported the 1366 socket. im in the process of building an i7 rig and love my chilltec cooler, but didn't want to spend the extra money again just for the brackets. so i sent ultra an e-mail asking if i could get just the brackets. they replied the next day and shipped me the brackets i needed at no cost to me. needless to say i was ecstatic. this is an awesome cooler with a great company behind it. i highly recommend it!
