Ultra ULT40123 MD3 Media Dashboard

Love the MD3, reads all of the cards that I use. Those of you that complain about the wiring..it's labeled. This fits great in the Ultra Aluminus case. The only thing I haven't used with this is the eSATA ports. Everything else works great.

This "Dashboard" is just that. You wouldn't think of driving a car without a dashboard to tell you whats going on with the engine, likewise you really should know what's going on inside your computer. The 2.0 usb ports and memory card slots are great also. I love it.

I like the unit. The only problem I found is there are no additional cables, can't hook up a 4 pin CPU fan unit only comes with 3 pin hook up

I received this today. it seems like a good buy. has many wires, so you need to be comfortable on where the connections go, but not too bad. as mentioned before, the card slots are a little off from aligning up to the casing. also the audio connection is ac'97 compatible only. my motherboard is a asus m3n78 pro and thought is was hd audio compatible, so i am a little disappointed on that. but all in all a good buy.

I love everything about this controller. It works great. I did not expect the huge amount of cables to included with device but that's expected of a device with so many features. I simply ziptied the extra cables and hid them in my case. I do agree with the comments about the card slots not matching up with the connectors. The connectors themselves are crooked when you look straight into the card slots. It's the first thing I noticed when I took the device out of the box. They still work just fine though. I have tested out each card reader and have no problems. My case uses rails to mount 5.25" devices, and this device only has 1 hole on each side instead of 2, but I still managed to mount the rails with only the 1 screw on each side and that was enough to hold the controller sturdy into my case. I would recommend this product. With a 3 year warranty, you can't go wrong. I'm glad to get 2 USB ports with this controller because the 2 front USB ports on my case have worn out.

The Ultra Media Dashboard is a great product for the price. It is designed for motherboards with many on-board connectors such as the IE1394 Fire Wire connector, extra SATA and USB connectors. It even has a standard AAFP audio connector. I'm running the ASUS M3N78 PRO motherboard, all from Tiger Direct, and its like this dashboard was made for it. All the functions work fine including the card slots.

I don't recommend you buy this unless you like a lot of wires hanging around in your computer. second it's gets a little complicating about what goes where and your inside of the computer is just a whole mess. besides that the price is descent

I liked this unit. I needed a fan controller and a card reader and the combination was about the same price as two individual units. Plus it looks good. There are a lot of wires to connect but with a few tie raps they look fine and everything works.

I upgraded from their cheaper one because I SWEAR it said it supported XD cards. It doesn't.. trading it for a different one...

Looks great cosmetically... is it really worth it for this price...absolutely not. The fan speed controls are cool but sets off a beeping noise if my motherboard heaksink temp goes over 107 F.?! One LED light went out on a fan dial. Media readers work great but alot of wires. Build quality is decent. It's eye candy at a high price.

I can't really give this a positive review. I''m sure if you get all the wires hooked up and it fits the case it okay. However, I brought four of these units and mounting them is tough since they they are a short 5.25 device with only one mount hole. Plus it made out of plastic and I had the one unit strip the screw hole just trying to get a decent fit with the screws which came with the unit. I mostly brought this unit for the card reader. And to my surprise the sony memory stick reader on one unit was broken off which made the entire unit pretty much non usable for my main system. While it tries to do allot of things this unit is fragile and seems easy to break. Not worth the price.

This thing is great. Has lots of wires though, but i know how to manage them. Its gets a little annoying when i'm gaming and the alarm goes off, luckily i bought the fan controller with this, and run the fans on high to avoid this. i don't get why people are saying its cheap constructed, its just fine! its going to stay in the case, not get man handled. chances are, if you don't have a media board, it won't support all the features. do you research people!

THE OTHER REVIEWS ARE LITTLE BIT MISLEADING BUT ALSO VERY CORRECT. THE PRODUCT IS NOT BUILT VERY WELL, MADE OUT OF PLASTIC AND YES ALOT OF WIRES. THE TEMP PROBE FOR COMP TEMP IS GOOD BUT THE ONE FOR THE CPU IS REALLYPOINTMESS SINCE IT IS NOT REALLY EVEN CLOSE TO THE CPU. IT DOES HAVE AN ANNOYING BEEP FOR NO APPARENT REASON SINCE WHILE PLAYING GAMES IT IS FINE BUT JUST NORMAL COMPUTING I HAVE HAD IT GO OFF, WHICH MAKES NO SINCE BECAUSE IT WAS NOT OVERHEATING AT ALL. THE FAN SPPED CONTROLLER EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING ABOUT WILL ACTUALLY TURN THE FANS UP TO 2700 RPM IF YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TYPE OF FANS INSTALLED. THE ONES THAT CAME WITH THE CASE ARE SLOW BUT 2 NEW THERMALTAKE FANS AND THE CONTROLLER ACTUALLY WORKS WELL. NOT SURE IF I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT BUT I GUESS I WOULD

Pros: I like that it gives me USB and audio connection in front of my ThermalTake case (case has it on top, no good for my needs). Looks cool too. Cons: The fan speed controllers does not work. It constanly reads 1300. The system temp reader would spike to 122F for no reason and cause that annoying beeping sound to warn me. During gaming, the temp reader would go past 122F and the beeping begins (very annoying). I took out the system temp reader from the XFX North Bridge. It's just hanging out and it still reads 113F. There are other ways to read PC temps. I would not recommend this product to do that job.

the product as a whole is fine. the display is nice, installation is fairly easy considering the number of wires involved, etc. as a whole I'm generally happy with it. however, I have one MAJOR FSCKING COMPLAINT!! the temperature readers work fine, for the most part. I can look down and see exactly what temperature my computer is at about 98% of the time. the other 2% of the time happens randomly in no particular amount of time, when the temperature reader glitches and beeps, warning that the computer is overheating. I actually took the temp reader out of the heatsink and placed it near one of the fans, and now it read the temp as 90F but it will randomly spike to 122F which is the temperature at which it warns you that your processor is overheating. it's summer and I'm in Louisiana, so I understand it's hot, but NOTHING IS OVERHEATING! it's EXTREMELY frustrating!

This is a great way to add extra ports to your computer!!! Everything works just fine. I found out you must trim back the eSATA cable to get it to work, the cable is not quit long enough to reach the interal connection. No big deal just get a sharp knife and trim it back 1/8 of an inch. Also a side note eSATA is not plug and play or hot swap. You need to have it hooked up before you start you computer and then your drive will be recognized.

Although this unit looks great overall it is just OK. It does have a lot of wires but that is to be expected. The card readers, SATA, and USB ports work just fine. My biggest complaint is probably the price and the fact that the fan controllers only adjust to a max of 1000 rpm. Since my core duo quad 9450 runs a little hot when playing COD4 etc. I am going to have to find a better solution and get a better fan controller that will handle more fans at a higher rpms.

Looks nice and has many options. Fan controllers are 3 pin so make sure you pick up adapters if yours are 4 pin. Tad bit pricey but its holding up so far.

It Is Ok But There Are To Many Wires And The Temp Sensors Didn't Work Right On It. Really Anoying Alarm When It Says It Gets To Hot. Needs A little More Features Like Celsius or Fahrenheit.

I bought this to make my case stand out a little more. Over all, its nice though. Tells my temps, give me an eSATA feature, and all the card readers. But I didn't expect all the wiring that had to be done. After I had pulled every wire out of my system and reconfigured it all I was happy with my buy.
