Worked proper out of the box, as advertised. I don't have usb 3. so I can't speak for that but it is one thing to appear forward to. I place a laptop challenging drive in, so no fit, heat or weight difficulties. This looks good, the usb cord is a lot extended enough. Windows 7 sees the drive just about every time. None. Wish it had been a tad cheaper, I could sell these to all my pals who don't know how crucial it is to BACKUP, till they come crying to me with dead drive. Not the drive's fault, but usb 3. isn't as well readily offered but with out a 30$ pci card.

Not cons, just observations, but watch out for the small tiny screws/screwheads. Also, the IDE connecter is like three" long and you have to fold/tuck it for entry into enclosure. Couldn't this be shorter, or even a solid piece you could just slide/connect the HDD into? works fine on vista with no troubles straightforward hook up and doesnt get real hot from what i can tell doesnt say vista compatible i nearly returned it since on the box it dosent say is vista compatible but i named my laptop or computer tech and he said it would and yes it does . my wife loves it simply because we got pics from old harddrives that have been lost for years

Took only about 15 minutes to install my drive and turn it on. Looks cool, also, and is somewhat solidly built considering it's almost entirely made out of aluminum. It does what it is suppose to do and the setup was quite basic. none If you install it on XP you don’t want any drivers, XP will take care of that. I formatted my drive as a principal drive. Make sure before shutting off the enclosures power and unplugging the USB cable that you double click the green safety eliminate hardware icon (located in the icon tray). Or you can click the safety get rid of icon as soon as and decide on the drive. Then click on stop, it will give you a message if it’s protected to turn off the unit. Or what you can do is, shut down your personal computer and it will dismount the drive automatically.

Incredibly attractive and quite uncomplicated to pull out of the box and set up. Only took a couple of minutes to set up and install my difficult drive into it. It only took me that long since I was working at a careful pace to make sure I didn't do one thing wrong. Not any cons truly but if anything could be diverse, the power cable inside the case could be turned so that you would not have to turn it upside down to plug into the drive. Just make certain that if you are employing XP, that you click the unplug or eject icon on the bottom taskbar just before turning off this external tough drive. Otherwise it cold harm the difficult drive.
