Vantec IDE to SATA converter

Plugged it into my optical drive. Turned system on and it worked as advertised. I didn't have to change any jumpers or perform any other special tweaks.

Nice little product, works exactly as advertised, and allows me to save a little money on a CPU/mobo uprgade. Most important, now I can use all my IDE hard drives that I gathered over the years with the newer SATA motherboards.

This is the second one for me, and about the 20th that I've recommended - has saved the cost of purchasing new hard drives, or burners - The money saved has come in handy spending it on other products - as a system builder and network admin, this is about the easiest product to use - and it's handled every drive from 6.4gig to my 250gig without any data integrity loss

I had a 500gb drive that with this converter allowed me to put it straight in with my new motherboard and never had any problem. Worked great and allowed me to use a hard drive I have bought right before swapping out motherboard. Shipped fast too.

Had to build a new system and new MB did not have enough IDE hooks, this little thing saved my old hard drives, and thus all the data, apps etc. Great product, easy to install.

Works okay. FYI, Leave the strapping option on cable select if using for secondary hard drive. The supplied SATA cable does not have locking tabs so make sure it's seated properly.

Once I figured out that both the IDE device and the converter required power hook-up (duuh) it works great on my DVD burner. Great value.

Perfect device!! Allows a CD-ROM to be a boot device!! Well worth the $$$ for purchase! Makes the older ide drives very useful on a new sata motherboard. I have three of these and they all work perfectly! Very good product!!

A power adaptor for the old four pin power supply that comes with the device is available but not from Tiger Direct or Vantech for some reason. Try google and you should find several available. Product works excellently exactly as advertised once you get past this little hiccup.

Works great. I updated to new mobo and needed a couple of these to hook up some of my IDE drives to SATA plugs on mobo. No problems with installation. It sure beats having to replace drives.

First off A review is supposed to be about the product. Just because you do not understand how to use the product or it's true purpose do not give it a bad review. This product does exactly as it is intended. It converts IDE to ATA. Great product.
