Seriously, don't even Assume about going to BIOS fakeRAID route - there is a cause that difficult disks are designed to use DMA (direct memory access) for information transfer rather than PIO (programmed input output) as you will be with BIOS raid. Maybe my choice of motherboards has just not been the greatest, but its difficult to believe that utilizing a CPU as a disk controller ever tends to make sense.OS-level raid will do better, but doesn't appear to match a 10k. Use RAID for reliability, not efficiency.With the cost of solid-states, you may possibly assume about that rather of a Raptor.

I ordered this to replace my 7200 rpm tricky drive Formatted and tried to install windows...failed...Dled wd tools and indicated Intelligent failure(hooked up as a secondary drive).
