Bought this to serve as the mass storage of my PC. It's doing well in that role. Still got 1.2TB left to fill up.One note about these drives is that it still features the WD IntelliPark. For those that are unfamiliar, this drive parks its read heads every 8 seconds to "save power". However that results in a ridiculously high load-unload count, which is one of the metrics in SMART that determines your HDD health.In my example, in just 3 days I racked up nearly 1650 cycles under Windows 7. These drives are designed for 300,000 cycles. At that average rate, I would have reached 300,000 cycles in just a year and half.As such, I strongly recommend users use WDIDLE3 and disable the feature. I've added only 10 cycles since then. |

Bought this hard drive for mass storage of files, games, downloads, that I have to keep because I mostly buy my software and games online. Transfer speed is good for a green powered hard drive. I now have 2x500 WD Caviar Green 32 MB in a raid 0 aray for system, and the 2TB for storage, which replaces an aging caviar blue 16 MB 250 GB.Hard not to recommend this HDD if you buy it at this low special price. Would definitely buy another one to create a raid 0 config with the actual one to get a very very big storage space. |

You get what you pay for. Its pretty good for the price and you can store plenty of data. Speed is pretty good , i plugged it into the sata6 port. I have a ssd as my primary drive so i keep this one to store the data only. Satisfied with my purchase. So if you looking to get more space, i would recommend you guys to go with this one. |

If you're buying this to put in a NAS, I highly suggest you go and look up what a 4k drive is, and how D-Link doesn't want to support WD's 4k-drives. Aside from that, though, I have no complaints about this drive, other than that it's only 2TB and not 2PB... But whatcha gonna do? |

I own a couple of WD20EARS's for storage purposes but they've been filling up and I needed another so I picked up the WD20EARX. Not liking the post-flood price even after I got this one on sale but couldn't be helped. It seems to be running well so far, no problems. Oddly enough, no matter which bay I install the drive in, SpeedFan indicates it's running several degrees cooler than my EARS's. |

Pros:6Gb/s, 64MB cache, and 2TB (1.81TB) of space. Worked right away once initialized in Windows. Formatted it, ran a chkdsk anyway, and happy to report no bad sectors or issues whatsoever. Running in tandem with my OS SSD as my primary app/game install drive. No hang ups. Comment:
In this post-flood pricing world, this isn't bad for what you get. Expect a moment for the drive to spin up if it's been idle for a while, but outside of that, expect great transfer speeds (assuming you have it on SATA3), no issues running games or streaming videos, etc. Would absolutely buy again if I needed another 2TBs for whatever reason. |

one with i/o error and other with heads scraping platters loudly. 3TB greens I bought previously work great. Recognized in bios of 4 machines. No windows or linux 32 or 64 bit system can access either drive. Extremely disappointed and stuck with RMA and wait.
