I don't know, I would have to get a single that performs and that doesn't appear to be possible. I've returned two drives already that wouldn't format. Each working with the disk management tool in Windows Vista and the Western Digital tools. I now have a third drive that I'm not able to format. I'm following the directions from the western digital web page, so I don't know what's incorrect. You would consider 1 out three drives must work. I'm asking yourself if I'm executing something wrong, but I truly doubt it. I realize they are challenging drives and sometimes they fail or are DOA but this is ridiculous.

Excellent value point for the cache. SAYS its a data secure no crash drive.... but (see cons) Got this to back up my in depth library of movies and music, so I wanted a thing that would final. Poor sectors started on day4, then partition went, then following reformatting it all occurred again. BUT WD is a very good firm been employing them for 10 years, newegg has a good return policy, so Im going to withhold judgment. DOA's occur to every HD manufacturer. Inexpensive High Failure rate I bought eight of these drives to make a RAID-5 for a new file server. Right after about a month a single drive failed. I had a replacement drive overnighted and that a single also failed. I RMAed each to Western Digital and finally I got a working replacement. This hard drive was incredibly uncomplicated to install, no complications with drivers or something. 1.5TB is plenty of space for me, it's good to see all my games inside a folder on it, and it barely taking up any space! It's incredibly very and very rapid! Item didn't come with a sata cable, jumpers, or any installation manual. Only the challenging drive. Which for any pc guy shouldn't seriously be a dilemma, I had plenty of scrap computers and didn't even want a jumper. Decent price two out of 3 failed on initial use I bought a pair of these to set up a RAID 1 configuration. One worked, a single was DOA. New Egg replaced the DOA drive. The third drive (replacement for DOA) failed about 70% by means of the initial format with quite a few bad sectors and a Smart error. 2 out of three wasn't very good.
