Great drive, very a bit of bang for your buck, I've had incredibly very good luck with WD drives as of late, and I'm hoping this will be no exception. none, actually Noisy small bugger, but as a WD black drive that I suppose is expected. I built a Very quiet method utilizing this drive, and it's actually louder than the rest of the Computer.

Comment:
Quick and a good investment. Replaced my prior most important IDE drive which was truly sluggish due to age (Maxtor 14gb, 2mb cache, 5400rpm< lol) that took about 34 loading bars on Windows XP to begin up. Following replacing it with WD 750gb Black, it took about 3-four bars which made a huge distinction. None. Well Acronis True Image WD Edition got a bit annoying with cloning because it can only clone from drive to drive and not by partition. Read Speed on HD Tach was about 98MB, but a bit slower burst rate than my other sata II hds. Took about 2hrs to do an extended diagnostic test with WD tool.

Rapidly read and write, with 7200 RPM reliability. If I upgrade from this, the subsequent logical step will be an SSD. Would be just that much greater with 64 MB of cache! I bought this to replace an additional brand that crashed on me, and so far it's just as rapid, and not creating a sound!

Built solid. Nice and heavy, with a good warranty. Runs so extremely silent AND rapidly. 750GB is a lot more than adequate for me. Would buy once more and once again. None. This is a quickly drive and a superior price tag. Functions with older SATA 1.five motherboards through setting a jumper. A little loud when drive is in use. Not rather as fast as my WD6401AALS drive, not certain why even though. I only obtain Western Digital drives now.

Comment:
Rapid and about average noise level, but faster than average. Compliments my SSD C: drive extremely well. No issues following more than a year of 24ǝ use. Doesn't have 64 MB of cache like the newest Black 1 TB drives. But then it's less pricey too, I have 9 machines in my office and all of them have WD drives. with 2 to 5 drives per machine, I have a lot of HDs in my workplace. I can't ever remember getting a WD drive fail. Normally speaking, if the HD doesn't fail in the initial 30 days, they seem to live forever.

Black Absolutely nothing to say due to the fact it works fine. I had the green one in newer laptop or computer 鸴 GB) that are server so I decided to swap it from my older laptop and these each challenging drive functions fine now.Prior getting make certain you review at http://www.wdc.com/en/products/internal/desktop/ initially.

I bought 4 of these in October of 2009. They are running in a RAID five configuration on a Dell Poweredge 4600 server with Server 2003. I have by no means had a dilemma with these drives so far. They are rapid, dependable, and can move and store a lot of information. Superb option for a low-expense spending budget server create IMO. None

Good reputation and the *working* units are working properly. A string of bad drives has me puzzled.I ordered three of these drives and two of them (with practically identical serial numbers, so it could be a bad run) started showing poor blocks inside 24 hours. Ran HDDScan and located 2 of the 3 poor (one had a full Wise failure, the other an unacceptable quantity of negative blocks).RMA'd with Newegg (always effortless) and the replacements checked out fine.Assuming it was a fluke, in my subsequent create I ordered two additional, and 1 showed bad blocks out of the box. Not sufficient to trigger a smart failure, but much more than acceptable from a new drive.Once more, the replacement drive was fine. Once the dust has settled the working drives appear to be operating perfectly. They are in mirrored RAID builds so I have a small wiggle room for reliability. But no concerns in two weeks given that, running 24ǝ.The comfort of having Newegg replace these drives so effortlessly and rapidly is why they obtain my business. Nevertheless, I noticed a definite distinction in how the original purchases and the RMA'd replacements had been packaged. The replacements, which were all best, had been packed considerably better. One thing Newegg might want to look at.

Decent value. Free of charge shipping. Simple install. Worked wonderful for three months. Purchased this back in September and its beginning to go. It worked great for three months, but I've been having significant issues as of late. Frequently unable to recognize partitions, data transfers freeze randomly. Occasional slow boot occasions. Scans showed an alarming quantity of bad sectors creeping into the drive. I reformatted in the hope it could swap out the poor sectors and I wouldn't have to RMA, but they are coming back up on me after just 2 days. I can't trust it to hold out significantly longer, thankfully I have an old 250 gig WD drive from my other PC that has been rock solid for 4+ years to hold my most important files. I've in no way had to RMA to Western Digital. I rated 3 eggs for the time getting, and how complicated the RMA is will establish if I bump it up an egg or lower further.

Quick drives, five year warranty, fantastic efficiency, dependable, incredibly quiet - with case open and 30" from my ear, I can barely hear these drives when writing gigabytes of information. Western Digital free of charge utilities (Acronis and Information LifeGuard) are qualified level amazing support apps. Get them, use them. Run slightly warm (ㅥ°C-47°C). They are packed into my case (whole five-bay rack is filled) without having an additional cooling fan on them, and they are in constant use in a room ㅸ°F-68°F. Really safe temp, very constant, and expected temp given these are performance drives under 24-7 use conditions. I've jumpered these down to run at 1.5 GB/s for an older motherboard running 1st gen SATA spec. Have tested on another three. GB/s method & they run at full spec on that. Burned in by running Information LifeGUard full erase/write zeros prior to formatting. Got two of these; I clone one to the other with Acronis each ten-14 days, swap in and run the new clone, repeat. Painless procedure that completes although I prepare & eat dinner. Something goes wrong, pop in new drive and am running inside ten minutes. I sleep Really uncomplicated at night and expect to for years with these.
