Began up good and uncomplicated. Gave her a Windows partition and she was prepared proper away.For the cost, ya can't go incorrect. No cause to complain. Caviar's Blue edition is their in among model. Their Black edition is their top edition and Green on the bottom. They're all fantastic but the blue is a nice level.

Reasonably rapid and quiet, Sata 3Gbs. 8mb cache, a tad pricey for it's capacity. Ought to get a 16mb cache for the price. Does the job in a low to mid-range computer.

It has not crashed or anything. Its quiet, cant even hear it. Set up was easy. A small faster than my old IDE drive but not really anything noticeable. Didnt come loaded with 250gb or free music..:( Best HDD for the price! and with 3 gb's a sec transfer you cant go wrong for 45$

Works great as a paper weight! I ordered every little thing for a new computer. Place every little thing with each other and began it up. Initially time loading the mobo detected the HD and CD-ROM, went into the bios and selected the boot order to boot from CD-ROM first and restarted. Mobo didn't detect HD, booted up from CD-ROM and started the setup for Win 7 set up, but no HD there either. Went down and purchased a new HD locally and booted proper up and set up Win 7 just fine. A couple of undesirable eggs get in the basket from time to time. I'm not going to stop purchasing WD since of one undesirable experience but it's fairly frustrating when you've been anticipating acquiring a new process going and run into snags like this.

Ordered this back in 08 for a desktop construct, have had precisely zero problems, and haven't precisely been too easy on it. Speedy response times across the disk, and throughput is as expected for a Blue. Silent, trusted, and decently speedy. Far from a higher-overall performance drive; that stated, there is steady throughput from the outer edge via to about 3ǚ of the way into the disk. Steady, not fast. @reviewer TY: There's a difference involving GiB and GB, and there's a distinction involving NTFS reserved space and sanity.

I bought this when I was on a low price range more than the summer time, and it has performed great. Transfers wonderful and everything, and have had no complications. No Complaints (See Other Thoughts) AT the time this is what I could afford. My Pc at the moment runs the OS off of this. I do think it would be worth paying for a greater cache, I would if I wasn't broke at the time. This is not a con this is just my individual preparing. If you are getting this I am guessing the cache is not a huge deal to you.

I purchased this to replace a failed challenging drive from my Dell (it's configured as a RAID1 with two drives). Dell lately replaced each of the drives, but a single failed and I required a new one considering that my warranty expired 2 weeks prior to the failure. This drive was the closest I could come to the original drive, and the array rebuilt just fine. none My desktop is now on an UPS.

Responsive, reasonably priced.. trusted. Almost everything I've come to anticipate from NewEgg and Western Digital with the exception of Green drives. If only it had been totally free I utilised this to replace a failing 120GB drive in my son's machine.

Save Oneself A HEAD ACHE and format it...

none so far,will update immediately after rma installed as soon as i got it (customer develop) windows would not install,got a error report,run test with white canyon computer software,at 4.37% already had five disk errors,when i went to rma on the egg this is what message i recieved-(Unfortunately, our records indicate that the manufacturer's labor warranty for this item has expired. Please make contact with the item manufacturer for additional service alternatives.)i thought at initial that i just got this issue, what is this,but it nevertheless gave me a rma quantity anyway. i will update asap,but thinking about a distinct brand subsequent time,this is not my initial bad WD drive.
