7200 RPM, SATA driveWestern DigitalNonetheless operating just about 2 years later with issues Only 250gb for โ dollars. At the time it was a great deal, on the other hand, prices have turn out to be a lot more favorable in the past year. Newegg gets ten stars when once more for service and excellence.

I enjoy the look and speed of this difficult drive. It scored a five.9 on windows knowledge. My very first sata drive and i notice a huge distinction! A single of the less expensive tough drives out there but i wish these have been a tiny more cost-effective. None.

Good value for a low price None Not considerably definitely to say about this drive. Necessary to replace an HD in a HP desktop, this was the closest match to it. Worked out great.

WD drives never let me down, and thats all I care about None Just purchase WD and don't appear back, If you want wonderful application to copy a drive or move your stuff to a new laptop or computer, try the WD drive tools utility, it just plain performs...you'll require to purchase the RETAIL version to get the Data LIFEGUARD TOOLS application...(if they still involve it)

Common Western Digital Challenging Drive. I use an external 1Tb difficult drive for storage (also WD), and use this to store the operating process. It works wonderful and hasn't caused any complications. None

Western Digital hard drive are typically Incredibly Trustworthy. I ordered two of these drives and neither one particular of them worked brand new out of the box. It was a shock to me since WD is typically rock solid and I have ordered about a dozen other drives from Newegg with no dilemma. Maybe my box got banged about in the course of delivery or a thing mainly because I have in no way had 2 brand new drives be broken straight out the box.

- Quiet (noise is inaudible in the case)- Speedy (for a lower-end drive OS response and programs had been snappy, burst rate and avg write speeds are excellent)- Low cost (for a tough drive) - Must possibly be about ฮ-35 thinking of what you can get by spending บ far more. Wonderful little drive for the money. Worked perfectly fine for our purposes here at my University (I'm an IT guy for one particular of our medical departments). We didn't need anything overly significant and we had to retain fees down so this drive did just the trick. It's been a lot more quickly than quite a few of the Dell systems, and is comparable to greater drives I have at property. It should be less costly, but if each and every $ counts I couldn't recommend it larger.跴 (using combos)Antec 3 Hundred Situation|Antec 380W Earthwatts PSU|Asus M4A88TD USB3 Motherboard|Athlon X2 250ӚGB Mushkin DDR3 1333|WD 250GB 7200RPM HD|Asus 24x DVDR Drive|Windows 7 Enterprise

Does what I needed, medium capacity drive for a client pc. Good speed, works well with mobo used. Packaging was horrid! Came in an anti-static bag, in a white cardboard box with my order RAM in the similar box. The white box had bubble wrap about it and then brown paper padding in a tiny cardboard box. I barely noticed the 'bare drive' on the title and information. This could be made bigger, but as I am continually tearing apart computers to create much better ones, I had a lot of spares.

Quiet, cool, quick. Does its job, gives a lot of storage at a decent speed. Replaced a 120gb IDE drive that died and does fine performing so. I'm not confident why, but I couldn't make it a bootable drive. My BIOS wouldn't let me select it in the boot priority section, and I tried installing a few various flavors of linux on it, installing the boot loader on this drive and my key drive, but no matter what I did I wasn't in a position to use it to boot linux. This is a bit disappointing, the drive it replaced had linux on it and I have a couple of utilizes for the operating method. Regardless, this drive nevertheless does its job for storage. See pros and cons.

Decent size. A lot more than enough room for an average person. Good for a secondary drive too. Cache is low so it doesn't make a great OS drive (main drive), but it works. Only time you'll notice the difference is when copying big amounts of data by means of router or operating drive test computer software. none.

Affordable. Reasonably rapidly for cost. Not much to say right here - its a regular drive. The drive's cover doesn't mention jumper settings - if you have certain 1st generation SATA controllers (eg. the VT8237), you will will need to spot a jumper on pins five and 6 to use it, since SATA autospeed negotiation doesn't kick in correctly - See WD's Information base FAQ answer id 1337 for specifics.

Great solid drives. Reliable. Very good for back-up/data. none seriously. I had 2 of these in raid for windows 7 ultimate 64 bit. Worked alright. But I swapped them out for a 500 gig WD caviar black with 32 MB cache. I'm much happier with that. But don't get me incorrect , these are excellent drives. I use these now for storage and back-up

Ultra quiet drive, decent speed and decent storage None at this time. Plug and play, installed Windows 7 Pro x64 on it with no issues. Replaced an older WD 40GB drive. OS reports 232 GB of offered storage space and has a Windows Knowledge Index of 5.9 (Disk Transfer Rate). Can barely hear drive though in operation which would make it an excellent choice for a HTPC setup.

This drive is extremely quiet. I'm running this along side of a Seagate Barracuda 250gb booting Windows Vista, with this drive running Ubuntu ten.ten, and this drive barely makes a sound when loading. It's also pretty quickly as nicely. None Western Digital is absolutely my challenging drive brand of selection. Under no circumstances been disappointed by them however.

It's an affordable tiny drive, great for OS drives. I wish I could have purchased a smaller one for more affordable? 250G is pretty huge for an OS drive, but the way laptop hardware costs go, a smaller drive isn't seriously any less costly.

Wonderful tough drive, low-cost, works effectively, overall terrific product. Product died after a few week, almost certainly just a faulty item of the line. I program on sending it in and replacing it. The exchange section of WD's web page seems really simple and self explanitory.

None It was louder than other drives the initially use, but did not assume something of it. I transferred dozens of movies onto it as a storage drive because my other one was acquiring too full. It did not perform once again, so I lost all those movies. I waited a number of months to even open the package and use the drive so now I should do the warranty thing, much better test the drives so you can RMA to Newegg.

Easy to install, excellent speed and practically imperceptible noise, I just installed it into an old Optiplex GX-280 and it worked fantastic, I installed Win XP qualified and Vista company and both operate good (well you know that vista is a little slow but it's not becaose the HD but the OS itself). none so far none
