A whopping 1.5TB for only 70 bucks, can't genuinely beat it. Passed just about every error checking plan I threw at it with no negative sectors. I tossed more than a TB of information onto it already and no failures so far, running like a champ! Quite slow read/write compared to a lot of drives I've utilized, but I knew this when I bought it. I believe it spins at 5400 RPM and USB is not specifically the fastest interface for data transfer. It took about 22 hours to throw 950GB onto it (although, not every person is going to be executing this.) I remember when 60-80GB hard drives were 贶-200, at some point it was about a dollar a gigabyte, and now a 1.5TB for 70 bucks! Gotta love advancing technology.

Cost, dependability, fast install, rapidly shipping, acceptable read speeds for a usb drive. Maintaining the single partition a WD Alignment wasn't required for usb drives. Plugged it in, turned on the personal computer, and was ready for use. I copied about 300 GB's of information more than to it working with XP's move command in explorer in about 7 to 8 hours with no errors. I'm really happy with the acquire at the sale price you can't beat it. I purchased this as a Time Machine drive and general external drive for my Macs. It took only seconds to partition and format for Mac OS making use of Disk Utility. It's fast and totally silent. Blinking white LED on the back is somewhat annoying at night in a dark space.

Fantastic drive, easy install, but obtaining a difficulty with it for the duration of Computer boot interval. Very reputable brand like Western Digital that you will have for years. The speed is typical not like the USB three. speed. The explanation for the a single egg removal is since the price tag goes up and down....make up your mind. I got this for ๠ at the time though(with coupon code). When beginning up your Computer....make sure you have the tough drive turned off. It can trigger some booting concerns even though your Computer will believe you have an Operating System installed on your external Tricky Drive.

Wonderful deal. When I ordered, it was on sale for ๕.99 with a บ newegg gift card after purchase. I have bought 13 western digital external hard drives ྪ I gave away as gifts), and I've had no issues with any of them. Not a real con, but USB two. speeds are annoyingly slow when transferring 1 TB of data. I would like to at some point get myself a USB three. external challenging drive for significant information transfers, but oh well.

Decent value, straightforward installation, enormous amounts of storage A bit slow but nothing earth-shattering. Had the drive for less than three months and then it just stopped functioning. Got Negative-block messages in device manager, would hang the laptop or computer when trying to access it. Moved to another computer system where I got the message the drive necessary to be formatted and then CRC errors. Just submitted RMA documentation to Western Digital for replacement. Drive is in a cool, fairly dust-totally free location and was not moved at all. It was literally operating one minute and stopped the subsequent. This is the third WD drive I've had go bad on me ƒ 500gb previously) and I have to query the reliability of this manufacturer. Luckily, I only had digitized music stored on the drive and I can recover that (through hours and hours of ripping).

This has to be the smoothest quietest running external tough drive on the market place. I own two seagate 500 gb externals which nether come close to the WD, in quiet low temp & efficiency.When I initially hooked it up I had to put my hand on it to make positive it was operating. Extremely suggested! Led light could be a unique color and not so bright

This for me was a wonderful obtain the amount of space for the price tag is good. I have a WD 500gb passport and that one even though it is portable came with negative software program. Exactly where this a single you just plug it in and it is prepared to go. Just that it has to be plugged in to a a/c outlet. Also weighs a small more than 2 pounds not to transportable. For the guy who said it got corrupted I can only think that he didn't safely remove it. I have a plan that removes all my usb devices safely and have however to ever have anything go negative.
