Western Digital Elements 1TB 3.5" Desktop External Hard Drive

Fantastic cost on sale for 1TB C'mon WD, activity LED on the back? When do I appear at the back? Slow, but that's USB 2.: not WD's fault. Other than needing a far more visible activity light (needs to be on front, not back), and looking a little bland (can't say vanilla given that it's black), this is a definitely good external so far. I'll let you know how it works with Windows 7 as soon as I use it to back up and update.

I enjoy this product. Works perfectly. I haven't had any issues. There is a cord given that it is a desktop harddrive Ɠ.five inch). You can nonetheless travel with it on the other hand. I would advise a situation to carry it with if attainable. I have a rubber band about it so the cords are a pain.

1TB of space (not truly) but far more than adequate for me. Have a different WD external HD, had it for 1-2 years, still alive and kicking. WD makes seriously good excellent HDs. I believe transfer speed maxes out at 20mb/sec for me. Not fantastic when I'm transferring huge files. I would recommend it!Worth the dollars!

It performs, straightforward set up with Dish Network DVR None right here There are a lot of drives that won't work with the Dish DVR, sort of a hit or miss, this one particular does

This is a good external hard drive to have. First off, it looks good, doesn't take up much space (could be utilised for decoration :P) the transfer speed is not bad either. I purchase all my difficult drives that's Western Digital, and they've all been really good. absolutely nothing....but hopefully none Newegg is the very best, that's why i get every thing from them initially and they are commonly the least expensive i locate..

Affordable - Plug it in and use it. Its Quick sufficient for the task at hand. None Will use this simply as a back up drive for our house Computer's.

Quiet, use 1 with Mac for a backup. Use a second with Dish receiver as a DVR. (For those who don't know, for a 1 time fee of ุ you can use an external, powered tough drive as a DVR with certain Dish receivers... operates fantastic!) Does not operate underwater.

Incredibly straightforward to set up, Very fast, performs seamlessly with my 10 year old machine. I'm loving obtaining the extra storage space, I love this factor. I watch videos off it, listen to music, and I've shared the root of the drive on my LAN, not even utilizing N, and can watch films, YES, Movies, seamlessly on wireless devices throughout the property with no concern. For the value, I practically feel poor for not spending adequate... I want a green 1. Make me a green one. Forest green. Or possibly deep cherry red. Dragons.

None. The drive basically stopped operating on the second day I owned it. This is the second and final WD external tough I have bought. The initial one stopped operating while I was re-installing Windows, in other words, precisely when I needed it the most. I purchased these external difficult drives to back up my information, for that reason, reliability is important, and I'm oh-for-two with WD. In no way yet again.

Quiet, stays cool. I was skeptical when I initial got the unit since there is no ventilation anywhere. Unit gets a tiny warm after an hour or so of continuous usage (transferring files, streaming videos/music to my htpc) but that's it. Not what you would anticipate from a unit with no ventilation. I am really please with the unit so far. None. Its a tiny slow but that's to be expected from an external HD. It was a fantastic deal. I am pleased with the unit so far.

Excellent out of the box. Plug it in and it goes. Quiet with a clean look. Other than speed, operates for me. usb 2.. Activity light is on the back, where I have placed on my desk, I can see the light against my wall.

Extremely quiet. No annoying lights, no obsessive vibration, top quality feel, extremely basic look, and solid overall performance. I use it as an extension on my VIP 612 DVR from Dish. None so far I personally like the way it looks and I love the fact that the tiny LED is at the back of the drive. It operates perfectly for my desires.

Completely Silent-nice appear for any desk. Decent speed from USB 2.- external powers supply and USB to mini cable included. EADS inside drive case, fantastic drive. Personal 6 of them, no concerns. Heat- Drive gets close to 45 degrees when transferring huge amounts of information. To me 45 degrees is unacceptable. ALL of my tricky drives are in coolers (heatsink style) or have cooler fans attached to them. 1 drive out of 40+ drives have gone bad on me in the final 15 years-coincidence? I will most most likely be taking the drive out and placing it into a superior cooler or modding the WD box- I will most likely destroy it by attempting to take away the drive but I guess we'll see. Activity light on the back? Not positive the reasoning behind this but at least there is 1. No energy switch as mentioned- not a huge deal but I believe these HD organizations must genuinely go the extra mile and devote the ũ and inclue a straightforward on/off switch on their external boxes.

Extremely solid case, nothing rattling like other external drives. Fantastic value and has been extremely reliable. I travel with a lot of gear and this is one particular of the most sturdy external hard drives I've observed. none I'd like to see producers make the power cords permanently attatched to the devices. The seperating power cords usually get mixed up with cords for other devices unless you label them.
