- 1TB storage- Transportable - This is my second HD that I've purchased from western digital and it still has the similar issue, the connector itself on the HD is going loose just soon after a couple of use. The only explanation i purchased this one particular was because just about every other critique says they came out with this new usb connector, even nevertheless its a bummer if you shed it simply because its not a standardized usb cable.

Whilst it worked it was wonderful, decently quickly, a lot of space. Right after a couple of months the format of the external tricky drive got altered to Raw and I lost over 200gbs of information. Then when i tried to format it back to ntfs it did not perform. Then from that point nothing at all worked. Would advocate a distinct item.

Very good value, decent case. USB 2., no FireWire 400 or 800 for video recording. Case is somewhat boxy as compared to WDBABM0010BBK-NESN which can be had for a couple of $$ much more curious as to why there are no spec's supplied on drive speed, and so forth of the internal mechanism. This will make some buyers steer clear of.

~Big storage capacity- duh!~Small size, but thicker then other two.5HDDs.~Powered off the USB bus, no added energy cable required. ~Extremely slow drive. Slight stutter while watching 1080p vids off it. Information transfer is SLOW. ~You can\'t take the HDD out if it fails and replace it with a spare. If I was in a position to swap out the drive and if it wasn't so slow I'd give it an additional egg.

Cant toss it up or use it as a paperweight.. Superb type aspect. Not just portable, silly protable. Its so modest you would have this wurprise on your face when you take it out.About every little thing else - Its a WD, you cant go incorrect with them.Got it for the appropriate cost. Size that makes me forget I have them n my pant pockets. What else can I ask for :)Enormous comfort and peace of thoughts. What else do you anticipate for < ๪? Enlightenment? :)

Speed is reasonably very good. Powers solely from the USB drive. Holds a ton! Very good cost. Largest drive out there devoid of external power requirement. MicroUSB rather than MiniUSB. Powers down after quite short time which signifies it requires a second or two for the subsequent access. I told Windows to compress the drive and it had about 700GB of primarily uncompressable Videos on it. It ran overnight to do the compression. The drive got quite warm, but it ran with out any errors or dropping off or anything else undesirable taking place. It took less time than I expected it to take.

This is a good 1TB HDD. I bought it being aware of it was a bit slow, but it honestly is a little slower than even what I like (thus the deduction of one particular egg). Even so, this drive is enormous, and for the money that I invest and the fact that it is transportable, it was a great deal. Tis a tad bit slow, and this HDD does come with a proprietary USB cable, but as long as you can keep up with your cables, that should be no dilemma.

Size, consider fit three in one picketOnly one particular uncomplicated cord for transfer and power sourceEffective delivery (thanks, Newegg.com!)No unnecissary pre-packaged software package (unlike one more WD drive that I know of)Silent and no strange vibrations I will agree with some other evaluations and state that it doesn't seem to be the fastest drive around. I am planning to use this in other countries where power is not usually reliable so usually I am left with making use of my laptop on battery mode. You can imagine that it is a good benefit for me that this drive does not need a second cord for power from an outlet! In fact, that was the main explanation for looking out this particular drive.

1TB, 贄 (on sale). Even smaller form factor than the 640G drive! In contrast to what some have mentioned, it IS a common Micro-USB connector. If you don't use the cable that came with the drive, you could want to "modify" the cable. The bezel on the drive can interfere with the plastic about the finish of a regular cable and avoid if from going in all the way. I suspect that this is why most folks are complaining. If you reduce away a small piece of the plastic on the cable, it operates excellent. I use a pocket knife for this surgery. It would have been nice if they'd stuck with the Mini-USB that was on the 640G version of this drive.Be sure to use short cables when connecting this drive or you will not have enough existing to power the drive.

Very good cost. Really like the fact it's bus powered. Incredibly sleek and sexy. Every thing you want out of a transportable drive. Basically a 1TB thumb drive... if you had a thumb the size of your palm. no firewire 800, but not a accurate con, since I could have fairly considerably bought the exact same point with FW800, just would have had to pay much more. And I am cheap If your a mac user, I always suggest making a tiny 10GB partition, and restoring a disc image of whatever operating program you use to it. You never know when you want to use it. Only been a month, and I've used it 3 times.

Incredibly nice searching and extremely small - really should have worked properly if it wasn't defective. Every time I touched it or moved the connection cable it would shut down. Sent it back for a replacement but they mentioned they were out of stock.

Really tiny footprint.Simple to transport.A single cable (USB) and no power required.Carry substantial files to and from work or where ever you need to have them.Western Digital... :-) Have not discovered any. A 1 TB USB External Drive. This is the great addition if you will need to carry files with you. Don't worry about the size - it is 1 TB.

1 Terabyte Almost a two.5" form factor - just slightly thickerNo energy brick required on any method I've triedNo bloatwareThe cable is actually short, which I like, as I'm commonly setting it subsequent to a laptopScreaming sale from Newegg - under a hundred bucks shipped!Purchased 3 - all 3 plugged in and worked perfectly The activity LED is in a poor spot, suitable next to the connector. If you want to see it, you will need to turn the drive with the cable toward you. They need to've place it at the other end of the drive. Not USB 3. (but none of them are yet) At .6", it's slightly thicker than a typical 2.five" external drive, but the thinnest of the 1TB offerings.

Small form factor, uncomplicated to use, no issues with smartware, decent efficiency Not many, Costco sells WD drives with a casing, sadly Costco does not sell components series so want to purchase that extra. I have bout a number of of these so relatively content; fantastic bang for the buck and WD is aggressive about being price competitive at the top end

No important troubles so far. Initially project was to transfer 79 GB 鳠 files) onto the Element. Transfer rate showed amongst 17.four and 21mB/s ; Area temp was 84F and the max temp on the top of Element reached 97 F. Buddy has two units and spoke very of them. Notice that NEgg has freely shipping on them these days! WD has an AUTORUN FILE installed and it would be nice if they are going to add this file, they ought to also included a document file with directions on how to delete it, for these who do not appreciate or need it on a challenging drive.LED is bright, the cord connection might be a difficulty, but my program is to just leave the cord attached to the drive full time. Thanks Newegg customer service you get 5 eggs, delivery was timely to enable the order to be delivered from NY to BCS Mex by good friends!

Been employing this external for a few months now to shuffle about hundreds of gigs worth of tv shows, and other files. Always reads and writes quicker than any other device I occur to be making use of. Doesnt get hot or anything. Very best of all it is all powered through microusb port no hassling with a number of wires. Warranty is shorter than some other drives but holds up to almost everything ive thrown at it so far. How long will it be till we can get 2TB in a 2.five External?

Cons:bigger than other 2.5in drives, short usb cable (less than a foot), blocky

Pros:Small size for 1TB, got it for a door crasher price in-town, fast performance
Comment:
Works great as a backup game drive for my Nintendo Wii console and Playstation 2 (so I can download backup copies and play them) and as a movie storage drive. Only if they included a longer cord would it really be useful as a desk/laptop/console drive, but thats not really an issueQuality feels like one of the sturdiest drives out there, before the ones coated in rubber.
