Operate like it suppose. Have no sign of problem with it. none Utilized this drive for my PS3. Fit and perform fine.Getting 7200RPM drive only uses .55Amp examine to the original 60GB drive that was 5400RPM at .48Amp. So a distinction of .07Amp. Was be concerned before about it putting out a lot of heat, but have none right after seeing how substantially Amp it utilizes.Very good purchase for my PS3.

Bought 2 of these to replace typical 5400 drive supplied in each our Asus G72's, very noticeable distinction! The stock supplied drives are now Data storage drives in the further bay and these are the key's. Packing was great, efficient shipping. None so far. Been incredibly pleased with the three, 320 Gig versions of this we previously bought by means of the greatest retailer around, Newegg. I've used both Seagates and WD's several instances and feel they are each good. Newegg will generally take care of you.

Outstanding value. 7200rpm and 16MB buffer. Western Digital's reputation. Great reviews. 500GB > 250GB factory tricky drive. Upon installing this drive into my MBP 13" and powering up with my OS X install disc I was greeted with a kernel panic restart prompt. I powered down and tried once again. Very same kernel panic. A third time and it's nevertheless the identical. At no point was I even able to get into the install disc's Disk Utility screen to format the drive. It simply doesn't operate in my machine.Defective drive. I study it could have had some thing to do with a power saving mechanism in the drive making a conflict.Bottom line: I do not suggest this model as an upgrade for Macbook Pro owners.

Good price, reliability and speed. Applied it my Unibody Mac Mini and it is much more rapidly than the stock 320MB 5400RPM drive. None When the costs of SSD comes down, I'll most likely upgrade once again but it'll be a year or two.

Have used it as a replacement in my ps3. Noticeably faster set up and load occasions. Well worth it for the space alone. None so far Be cautious if your at present replacing your drive in the ps3. You Need to update the firmware on your existing drive from a thumbdrive 1st (auto downloads don't operate) and then use the very same thumbdrive when you set up this. Whatever you do, do not format your old tough drive until you have it operating.

I've had this item installed on my PS3 now for about 6 months. Some people stated that load time was quicker. I don't assume is was necessarily slower or more quickly. My goal was to have a lot more space on my PS3 not to increase load speed. The item was straightforward to set up but I did have to get a file from Sony for the PS3. It's no cost and straightforward to download to a thumb drive. Make certain you produce the file that it tells you exactly. If you do make a mistake it wont mess something up you will just have to create the file yet again. Just google modifying tough drives on your PS3. Some people also noticed that their system ran cooler. Once more I didn't discover this precisely but the important thing is it didn't run any hotter. I've had no difficulties with freezing or locking up. I have loaded various thing on and off the drive with no hickups of any sort. I hope this helps those of you searching to update your PS3s. For the value I was skeptical at initial, but can say it has been nothing at all but clear sailing so far. No difficulties up to this point. Iv'e only use this item on my PS3 so I'm not certain about its pros and cons on an actual laptop.

MacBook Pro apps run more rapidly right after getting rid of the Toshiba 5400 RPM 160GB drive. Read and response time is considerably quicker. I do see that the statement about energy usage becoming like that of a 5400 RPM drive isn't completely correct. I have seen about 20% shorter battery life because installing this drive. Nevertheless, I preserve my laptop plugged up most of the time, due to the fact I have external USB bus powered devices that would cause even more of a drain, so it's not seriously a large concern for me.

Improved overall performance, quiet, efficient, trustworthy, wonderful value, very best warranty (five years), straightforward to install. Possessing to re-install Vista (ugh). But that's not the tough drive's fault. Bought this after reading Tech Report's 7200 rpm notebook HD comparison. Installed into Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop with Vista Standard. All-around performance is considerably quicker than with old 80 GB HD. Formatted capacity is about 465 GB.

Quick, great capacity A bit warmer and decreased battery life slightly. Replaced OEM drive in a Samsung Q430, overall nicely worth it. Runs a bit warmer than the old 5400rpm drive and I've noticed battery life down a bit but that was expected. Good drive.
