Swift, Responsive, Fantastic capacity None I was very upset with the shipping of this item, It came with a excellent foot of bubble wrap in it's own small box which is fantastic except for the fact the bubble wrap was all underneath the drive, leaving one side absolutely exposed which negates the effect of the shock absorption when press against the side of the box.

I've had this drive for two months, and so far there are no difficulties to report. I upgraded my PS3 40GB to 500GB. The capacity of this drive is cavernous compared to the stock drive, it was dead-straightforward to install, and I couldn't be happier. No cons.

Idk what individuals are talking about with 7200 rpm drives overheating ps3's but I just got done performing a 12hr gaming session with g@d of war three and my ps3 was operating just fine. Anyway this drive actually speeds up the load times for positive. None Don't believe folks when they tell you a 7200 rpm drive is negative for your ps3 and xbox 360. I have two 7200 rpm drives operating in my ps3 and xbox 360 with no problems. The only cause these corporations don't use 7200 rpm drives is to maintain expenses down.

Superior value, Very good capacity, Fast drive, Quiet, No heat issues None so far Because my laptop can accommodate 2 drives, these enable me to backup my information from 1 drive to the other. If I listen real difficult, I can hear a incredibly slight spinning noise, but I seriously have strain to hear it. Even with 2 drives running, I have no noise or heat troubles.

Like the tough drive. I have it in my Sony VGN-NW240F and appears to run fine. It speed up my machine very a bit it and has somehow has a far better battery life than the prior Fujitsu 5400rpm drive. It gets a bit hotter than the old 1.

excellent drive, its in a new macbook pro , from the evaluations ive read its loud, but to my ears, its quieter then the stock hitachi 250 gb drive, battery life isnt affected too significantly by the quicker drive. initially one was DOA , newegg had a really rapidly turnover , only took a little longer then 24 hours once it arrived there to ship out the replacement. 2010 mbp / 8gb ram / 2.4ghz core2

Rapid and snappy, quiet, good value and $ per gb ratio. Newegg once again ships like lightning. None as of but. Bought this to replace the 160gb 5400rpm drive in my hp dv6700t. simple to install, windows install took all of 17 minutes with windows 7 residence premium. Its essentially quieter than the 5400rpm drive which is surprising and quite pleasing. the drive also throws of a lot much less heat than the old 1. My windows boot time (from power up to welcome screen) was truly cut in half. The capacity is good as now i dont have to preserve the external leashed to it continually. Excellent overall acquire and great newegg service. would highly recommend.

Rapidly, quickly quickly! Great value, greatest bang for the buck in two.five" drives. Doesn't taste quite superior. Installed two of these in a 2009 Mac Mini (one replacing the optical drive) and had an immediate, enormous efficiency boost. Have had excellent luck with WD drive quality in current years.

Quite quiet, installed for the most component fairly easy. Doesnt get hot like i thought it would. As often super fast shipping WTG NewEgg None so far..... Just purchased a new laptop with windows 7, Only dilemma i had installing the drive was simply because of Windows 7 and settings that required to be changed to function with the WD computer software to clone the drive, other than that the drive installed very straightforward. Havent noticed a large enhance in preformance, some apps load faster whilst others appear to be the identical.

I was doing a OS alter from Windows to Linux and decided the Laptop may possibly last a lot of years and would will need more space than the original HDD over time!Effortless to replace (which most know) and after some study time for what I wanted in partitioning 500 GB it works fantastic.Did get a faster spin speed 5400 > 7200 not positive it matters a lot with Linux, but, it has a larger number to tell men and women! ;-p Was hoping they added an additional to the box for becoming a excellent customer? Muuuuhahahaha! Yea an additional!Perhaps NewEgg could do a random who know thing, like each 1000th customer from a starting count get double what they bought? Now we be cracking some Eggs! WOOT!!!!

Comment:
A superior bit quicker than the 5400 RPM 320GB drive it replaced. Went from ㅢ MB/s sustained transfers to about 60 MB/s. I also noticed a significant improve in random access speed when opening up lots of tiny files (which is what I wanted this drive for, opening up big assemblies in Solidworks would take forever with my 5400 RPM drive). It vibrates very a lot. I expected this from a 7200 RPM drive, but it can be intrustive at times. For instance resting my laptop on the top tier of my desk though I have it hooked up to my monitor/keyboard/mouse, you can feel the vibration through the whole desk below heavy access. It's also a good bit louder than a 5400 RPM drive. This would be fine if it had stellar performance, but an extra ten-20 MB/s may not be worth it over a 5400 RPM drive for somebody who values noise and vibration, particularly not with drives like the Momentus XT out there Arrived in fantastic condition and install was hassle-no cost. It's about as rapidly as my four year old three.five" WD 250 GB 7200 RPM desktop tough drive, and a little under half the performance of a 1 TB WD Caviar Blue in throughput.

Greater excellent WD, cost is competitive, 7200Ǚ.0gb/s speed. None My Qosmio X505-896 came with a second bay and I bought this drive to fill it up. I am quite happy, as this is 1 of the greater good quality WD drives. It is rapid, total and fits nicely in my 18.four" laptop, giving me three 500gb drives!!!! I will not purchase the lower top quality WD drives that quite a few folks have troubles with. You get what you pay for. I would acquire this once more. I in no way rank five eggs 'cause there is alwasys space for improvement. As far as shipping, I don't see the Newegg speed everybody raves about. Some items take 9-11 days. I live in New England close to a main city. Don't know why shipping is soooo slowww...

Appears extremely rapidly and very quiet. Noticeably quicker than prior 5400 320GB drive. Dependable so far. 5 yr warranty. Fantastic cost, though not from Newegg. In my Macbook Pro it causes a high-frequency vibration which is noticeable truly only when you resting your hands on the aluminum case or holding the laptop or computer somewhere. I don't come across it terribly annoying but it is undoubtedly there and wasn't previously with the stock drive or a Seagate 320GB 5400RPM drive. The vibration turns into a hum if my computer is not sitting square as then the vibration causes noise. perhaps one may place some rubber cushioning, if there's any room, about the drive fittings to isolate the vibration. As the vibration concern has been noted by others, you could wish to check competitors' drives to see if that knowledge is repeated elsewhere. If not, take into account your selections.

This drive performs just like my old stock Sea gate tough drive (which falied me several times) . BUT, this difficult drive is almost "silent" when it's operating (seeking), the idle sound I saw other customer complaint is only the usual humming of a 7200rpm drive. It's not that loud anyway, does'nt disturb you though operating. OEM, no solid box (but Newegg packed it properly anyway...) The 5 years warranty is a excellent plus :D. Thanks WD and Newegg.

None Install was seriously easy every thing works as it need to, I had a Western Digital drive from 4 years ago and it still works fantastic. Incredibly happy with my buy.

This is an absolutely awesome laptop Challenging Drive! And the New Egg cost was the lowest I'd identified anywhere! Shipping was rapidly and no cost! I've had this HD for four months now and there have be NO difficulties with it. Even though there were comments and concerns about a 7200rpm drive running hot, I've noticed it somewhat - but not enough to be concerned about. Performance has been extremely quickly. I upgraded my Acer Aspire 5735 ƒyrs old) with this HD and also at the similar time did away with Windows Vista (a MS disaster!) to Windows 7. These two upgrades at the very same time has improved the preformance of this laptop by 200%! I extremely suggest this HD and I extremely suggest buying items from Newegg.com! no cons! If you acquire this HD anyplace else - you are crazy! Besides that -- I couldn't discover it anyplace else for the Newegg cost!

Nice drive, quickly r/w, works wonderful in my macbook pro. Just a *tad* noisy and ever so slightly increased power consumption over the original 5200rpm drive. I suggest this drive for anyone seeking for a quicker, 500GB drive.
