This HD was a wonderful fit for my older Sony VAIO laptop, an easy ghost and I was on my way. The price and delivery was great as nicely. Lots of drive space as upgrade to 60GB that was in the D610 and D810. Quicker r/w access occasions then old drives. Cost much more then SAS drives of comparable size, but IDE is only option to upgrade these latitude models. On the tenth month I heard a clank in the personal computer and the laptop or computer went black and attempted to reboot. It kept coming up no drive detected. Following about a half hour of playing with it I determined it was completed for along with all my information. After testing the computer with a old an much smaller drive I ran out and bought the 250G version of this drive and got it up and running once more. I did send this Drive back to WD on an RMA and they sent me a new drive about two weeks latter. It did cost me บ dollars for shipping and another ๪ for the 250G replacement drive mainly because I could not have this thing down for more than two weeks mainly because of the company I am in. It also lost all my information that most of it will never ever recover and about 6 hours of loading the OS and programs back as nicely.....

Substantial capacity for an old interface and little form factor. WD Good quality of course. Had a strange problem installing WinXP on this in a Toshiba Satellite A-series. Put this HD in, and the XP installer formatted it wrong just about every time. Had to use Partition Magic 1st and then install on the fresh partition. Could be the laptop too, though, but I can honestly say I've never ever had that issue.
