Installed it in less than ten minutes, note motherboard new in the box, not in the personal computer. It is a huge boy but fits in my mid tower just fine. 2nd note: the siize of this is that of a energy provide. I played with the stock cooler and then this, not a hudge improvement but a few c's less. I would get this once more, very very and functions. None

This is by far the very best cooler I have ever bought. As of right now, I am running my Phenom II x6 T1055 at 3.2ghz, and it idles around 20C. It has in no way gone above 40C at full load from prime 95. Installation was a bit confusing for me, because it was my very first time installing a larger cooler. A recommendation - install the fan just before you put the complete thing in the case, along with visit the zalman web site to view the flash based instructions. I have to take my hat off to the Korean products (including HTPC situations), the machining and finish are leading rate. I applied a bit of grease to all the screws but I nearly stripped one hole on the AL block. I think the screws are too short too. The fan could be much better also. It is too noisy. IMO, a better fan need to have far more fins (higher pressure) and spins in the range of 1100 - 1600 RPM. The spacing of the fins does not want a high RPM fan for good efficiency. To me, as one of the original owners of the Sunbeam Core Get in touch with cooler, these heatpipe coolers are "all" good. 50% of the cooling equation lies in the necessary down force/mounting of the base. This unit is good but could be superior, considerably far better. I would experiment with sealing the two sides of the cooler to "channel" the air to go straight thru the fins. I think that will enhance the cooling Ƒ-3 degrees?).

This cooler is awesome! Extremely efficient cooling solution. Economical. Top quality workmanship. Very Quiet. CPU fan potential blocking RAM slot if you have RAM with tall heatsink. I have an evga x58 sli le and it would block my initially memory slot if I use all six slots. Nonetheless, I only use dim 2, and four,6. I have ƒx3) 6 gigs Geil at 1333. Installation is a bit tricky. You have to take you motherboard out of the case unless you have access to the back of the motherboard. It keeps my overclocked core i7 920 stable at three.7ghz about 77 C running prime95 for about 30mins. 920 at 130w stock is hot by default. This cpu cooler was able to handle it. 77 c is nonetheless too hot for my taste but this is a incredibly very good cooler to be fair. My prior cooler couldn't manage the heat. It's very quiet. Factor cools Very excellent. CPU stats: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Deneb three.2GHz on a Gigabyte GA-770T-USB3 mobo with 16Gbs of G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB DDR3 1600 memory. This is in a Cooler Master HAF 932 case. This cooler fits fine in the case with room to spare. I run foldingathome here and these are some temps. Case: 82F CPU @ full load: 98F. The fan is controlled by the mobo and has plenty of RPMs left yet. The highest temp I ever seen was 105F with a case temp of about 90F. It got warm in the room. A/C was left off for a while. The only con is that the fan hits the memory sticks on this mobo. I had to move the fan up about 1ǘ inch to get the fan on. It works fine but I really don't like things like this touching. Of course, with the fan that close, it assists maintain the memory cool. ;-) Fantastic cooler but wish it had a small far more clearance for the memory. Could have to replace the cooler later on. Strategy to contact the manufacturer so that they can see if they can make any adjustments. This can't be the only mobo that has this clearance concern. I just wonder why all mobo manufacturers can't just move the memory slots yet another inch away from the CPU cooler. That would leave additional room for everyone. I hope this information helps somebody else with their develop. Linux rocks !!

Effortless to install (juster read the directions and follow them).Really works nicely - my OC i5 750 @ 3.2 doesn't even break a sweat. It idles at 20-22C and under full load seldom sees 60C.Dead silent. The stock fan does not (to my understanding) spin up to the higher speeds, perhaps it is my MB settings that hold it down to low speed under 60C, but this cooler is for all intents and purposes SILENT.Affordable for this level of performance.Properly packaged in the retail box - no opportunity of harm unless the shipper runs over the box! Also it consists of incredibly great thermal compound. Massive size - check your clearances (mine fit fine in an Antec 300 case).Need to eliminate your MB to install, while you almost certainly COULD install if you have access to each sides of the MB in your case.Doesn't come as the stock cooler from intel ;D I bought this when it was ฮ shipped and I wish I would have bought a few at that price. Even at the current cost of close to โ shipped, it is a bargain. Unless you want to definitely OC, or are running a CPU that runs hotter than the face of the sun, this ought to be a great cooler. If you value LOW NOISE, don't even hesitate - get this now!

Terrific heat sinkUncomplicated to attach and get rid of fanDropped temps from 38c idle to 30 - 32 ideal on OC Phenom x4 955 at 4ghz.Underload stays under 50c ࿐-50c)Can mount and additional 120mm fan Incredibly really for the amount of temps it dropsamazing cooler for the cost... cant go wrong for 34 bucks. Somewhat difficult to install AM3 boards you will need to take off the cpu mouting bracket on the motherboard. The screws are underneath so you may well have to take out the board. Its A LOT much easier to install with the mobo out. my thermal grease was leaking (not worth taking a egg off). To drop temps further than what this cooler does you will need to switch over to water cooling. Superb cooler for the cost. Incredibly happy.

This is by far the ideal heat sink i have owned. After running a prime95 torture test all night, my processor peaked at 33C. That is 6 cores running at 100% all night. It is also not loud at all (my case fans are louder). The installation guide isn't the ideal for people today running newer AMD systems with socket AM3's. The whole component about the stickers ended up confusing me. The ideal way to find out how to install this heat sink is to appear it up on the site and view the flash based video they have on there. Also the fan mounting is quite an annoyance. You should put the fan on Just before you put your motherboard inside your case.System Specs:AMD Phenom II x6 T1055 Ɠ.3GHz Overclocked)ASUS M4A89GTD Pro / USB34GB GSkill DDR3 1333 Ripjaw Timed 7-7-7-21MSI GTX 260 SuperclockedAntec 300 w/ all fan slots getting utilised750Watt Rosewill Power Supply

Does what it says it will do. I read a lot of critiques on air CPU coolers and came to Newegg with the intention of acquiring a various 1, but went with this 1 simply because of the cost. I am extremely pleased with the performance. I'm running a Core i5 750. I tried overclocking the FSB to 1600 with the stock cooler and my CPU temp got up to 78C running Prime 95!! The cores had been hitting 99C!! Only ran it like this for a few minutes then backed the clock back down. Right after installing this cooler, no joke, my temps dropped ~ 30 degrees on CPU and 40 degrees on the cores when overclocked. I'm now running 1600 FSB all the time with no concerns of overheating. I ran Prime 95 Torture Test and played Mafia II (at the very same time) for 2 hours and the CPU Maxed out at 42C. Heat Sink surface wasn't as glossy as I would have liked, but I didn't really do something about it except buff it a bit with some brasso. Was fairly dirty truly. Clipping the fan on was a bit cumbersome.Receiving good metal to metal contact between the cooler's HS and the chips IHS is the goal. The far more pressure you can put between the two the superior. Some assessment I read mentioned that the lack of spring loaded screws for the bracket mount is a brief coming of this cooler, but it seems to me that the fasteners it comes with do the job. I'm running on a MSI P55 GD-65. 1 of my main concerns with receiving a massive cooler like this was possibly blocking the memory slots. I'm using GSkill rip jaws series DIMMs with somewhat brief heat spreaders. This CPU Cooler does not interfere at all with the two sticks I'm using. Nonetheless, I'm not so certain it would be clear if I was making use of all 4 slots. The slots from CPU socket to Energy connector are two,1,3,4. I'm only using the main 1 and three slots. It looks like it would fit, but I didn't try it sine I'm not preparing to use that slot anyway.

Incredibly great obtain. Lowered my case temp by 15-20C.Lowered idle temp by 20C.Lowered load temp by at least 35C!! If you have a case that has a side fan it may possibly not fit. Mine just BARELY fit. My side fan is literally pushing up against the heatsink fan. So you may possibly have to eliminate your side panel fan but it's worth it imo.I stupidly took out my mobo to install it before realising my case has a hole on the side panel for that. If yours doesn't you will have to take out the mobo.Had to actually push down on the brackets to get the screw to locate the threads on the bolt but no biggy. I by no means truly had a require for one until I bought SC2 and my Athlon 64 X2 5000+ started overheating to the point exactly where it restarted my computer. I'm not sure at which temperature it would do that but I checked the temp at one point and it was at 93C..Some people stated to possibly install the fan just before you install the heatsink. That won't function simply because you won't be able to screw in the heatsink.. duh.Incredibly satisfied.

2 mounting possibilities for AM2Ǚ motherboards, nice vertical channels in the heatsink to permit for a screwdriver for the four-point mounting alternative, exceptional heatsink surface, a bit shorter than most 120mm coolers, Zalman high quality, lives up to the "Performa" name The fan clips have a slight learning curve, but they seem sturdy when installed Getting an AMD CPU fanboy, excellent 120mm cooling choices have been couple of and far-between. A though back, I located the Enzotech Kind-X AM2 Retention Module which allowed me to mount LGA775 cooling alternatives to my AM2Ǚ boards. That typically necessary some level of modding, but the outcome was a sturdy mount. But, once I installed this cooler, I was really pleased with the simplicity & performance. Positive, it does have the standard clip choice that allows you to connect it to a normal AM2Ǚ mounting plate that comes with most boards. But, it also has a one of a kind mounting plate that provides you the alternative of 4-point mounting employing the holes that the regular AM2Ǚ plate employed, after removal. The fan itself is still fairly quiet at 2,000 rpm & the selection is there to use the RC24P (an in-line resistor cable), which decreases the maximum fan speeds & permits for a much more silent selection. I sought performance & the fan noise is still fairly quiet. I utilized the RC24P to quiet a 5k+ RPM fan. Thanks Zalman!!

Not sure Not compatible with my MSI 890FX motherboard as the fan interferes with the cooling fins on the memory for the ş RAM slot. Not positive why the manufacturer would not make a greater effort for clearance compatibility. Make positive you have clearance or you will waste your time with it. Of course, the workaround is to not use the ş RAM slot. Yeah, say goodbye to dual channel memory for this fan? I feel not.

Cons:- Fan can be loud if the resistor is removed (for much better performance).- The installation might take a while. Close attention is required to achieve desired cooling.- Recommended orientation might block memory if

Pros:- Very powerful cooler, keeps the temperature low.- Compatible with most of the sockets out there- High value if you can get it around $30
Comment:
This is a cooler that received great reviews. When the fan resistor is removed, the performance can match high end products like Noctua NH-D14. The only downside is noise of the fan, which could be remedied by using a Noctua fan. Follow the instructions and make sure you use the double sided tape correctly (get rid of the middle piece. I've seen people doing it wrong in an instructional video on youtube), apparently it can lower almost 10C in some of the reviews I read.
