-Solid Copper (you can seriously see and really feel the develop excellent)-Adjustable fan settings independent of OS manage-Quieter than stock fan even at highest speed-Very easy to install (took about ten-15mins for each card). -Does not come with isopropyl alcohol wipes to clean chipsets (nitpicking, but if they call for it in the directions, it need to be included). My case has liquid cooling for the CPU, and I wanted to eliminate a single of the important sources of heat and noise from the rest of the elements. I have two GTS 250s in SLI and following installing these, idle temps went from 55C to 48C, and load temps went from 65C to 57C. Around a 7-8C drop. The Arctic Silver five hasn't had sufficient time to really burn in but, so possibly one more 1-3C drop will be observed. I must say, nonetheless, I expected a little bit far more of a drop. Some men and women report drops of 15-20C in some cases but I can't complain as well substantially. Great product for the cash. Shop about, although. At the time of this overview, I was able to discover it about 20% cheaper on yet another web page.

Looks like it'd cool very well, massive copper monster with four heat-pipes and a mirror finish on the speak to surface. Appears like a decent mounting system with the 4 screws and springs. Zalman has a reputation for quiet coolers... Okay, so I did my homework just before shelling out difficult-earned dollars for a cooler and shopped around for really awhile ahead of deciding on this cooler. I read the evaluations that it fit the most recent Radeon HD4870's and moreover Zalman states compatibility with the most up-to-date GeForce GTS 250. So I figured what the heck it must fit my Asus GTX 260, proper? Wrong. I needed mounting holes appropriate amongst holes 4 and five. I tried mounting it with holes 4 (the closest ones, the 5's wouldn't line up at all) and broke one of the mounting pins in the attempt. No harm to the card, luckily. This one particular when proper back in the box, but due to my idiocy no RMA for me... At least I did get to put some Arctic Silver five among my stock cooler and the GT200b chip, and since I couldn't return it (cause I broke it like a fool -.-) I applied the good included, stick-on heatsinks on my Vram.BE WARNED! it won't fit something larger than a GTX260! So no 270,275,280,285, or 290s! Don't acquire this...Zalman at present doesn't seem to offer a product to fit these GPU's however.

Purchased the VF1000 for 5850s, given that from forums it is compatible with no modding needed, allowing me to preserve the stock base plate on for VRM and RAM cooling (from what I gather, the base plate is much better at cooling VRM and RAM than aftermarket heat sinks currently). I like to overclock and the stock fan was receiving as well loud for me, even at 35%. 1) Installation (specific to 5850) - very effortless after base plate is reassembled (google around). I utilised OCZ freeze as an alternative of the thermal paste which came with the VF1000. two) Temperature - with addition of a 120mm fan blowing on my crossfire method (see below for a con of VF1000 in crossfire), I was in a position to get temperatures down substantially. No real testing carried out, but for crysis I was obtaining 81 C (OC = 875񳁮 @ stock voltage) with stock cooler, but amazingly max 71 C (OC = 985񳁮 @ 1.2V) with the VF1000 CF + 120 mm fan (sounds < 26% stock fan). Ambient temp, as a confounder, was greater in the course of VF1000 testing than through stock testing 1) "Choking" of leading card - With my 2 x PCIE slots having only 1 PCI in among, the cards were approx 1 cm apart. Right after initial installation, There was a difference of approx ten-15 C between top and bottom in crysis. Purchased a 120 mm coolermaster fan, blowing on both cards, brought difference down to five - 6 C, and I'm pretty sure (not tested) general temps declined as nicely. 2) You lose autoregulation of fans, unless you buy a three pin to 4 pin converter. Even so, autoreg fan manage is not tuned for VF1000 fan anyway. Sound - Stock fan was quite loud with OCing (@ 35% and higher). VF1000 quite quiet, esp at medium settings. Buy a quiet, but effective 120mm fan. Purchased three.25' fan controller for 13 dollars, works like a charm controlling each VF1000s and the 120mm fan.As temps show, VF1000 is a very good aftermarket resolution for 5850 crossfire. Need to take into consideration "choking" of top card, but simply remedied with a 120 mm fan blowing on each cards. In the end, you get a 跌 5850 + ุ mod, beating 蹎 5870. Of course 5870 can OC as properly, but ceiling approx same for each. Some say 5850 can get larger max clocks (maybe I'm biased :P )Method:Thermaltake V9 (with side fan removed bc of CPU cooler)i7 920 @ 4.2 GhzOCZ 12800 ram @ 1600mhz5850 crossfire w VF1000s ꀙ񳁮)

It is quite fairly and kept my GPU at about 40C (astonishingly low) while idle and peaked around 46C beneath complete load. In the pros I used the past tense mainly because I have come across a limitation. There's some troubles that arise when working with 2 GPUs.1) The standard crossfire cable is barely extended sufficient to get over the tip of a heat pipe when on a 790X motherboard (PCIEx16 slots had 2 other slots between them).2) If this is on the slot 1 GPU on a 790FX motherboard and you add a second GPU to a PCIE slot with only 1 slot separation, all air to this cooler is blocked.I'm presently running into overheating program failures although operating games because this thing has no room to pull in cool air. This is a great single GPU technique cooler. Make certain you have 2 added slots open for this point to fit and grab cool air. I'm still investigating solutions to my difficulty that don't consist of a box fan pointed at the GPU.four stars due to the fact it it truly a phenomenal cooler when it has the space to breath.

-Dropped my temps from 68c to 43c, when its beneath load-Extremely straightforward to install with wonderfully simple directions-looks fairly -QUIET, QUIET, QUIET, QUIET! honestly...none. I purchased this to replace the stock fan on my 8800GT XXX, I had place up with it far also lengthy, I wasn't positive of the dBA of the stock fan but it was nicely, Nicely above the 28 dBA (on high) of this cooler. I didn't want to upgrade my card so I opted to get this. I did my analysis and focused on this 1. On high the 28 dBA is barley audible and on low....let's just say I under no circumstances knew how load my hdd actually could be. (I suppose it's time for an SSD) All in all this was Exactly what I was wanting and it couldn't have created me happier. Quiet, fan controller, simple install, and it looks pretty to boot. Oh and thanks to Newegg for rapid shipping, I appreciate you guys!!!

Operates fantastic, lowered GPU temps by 12-15 degrees C. Silent fan, only whooshing sound. I set the fan complete blast. Whooshing sound doesnt bother me at all. Makes me really feel comfy. Okay, so it was a tiny scary taking apart the video card. But I did it with no difficulties. Also, these are a little costly. I purchased two for my SLI setup, but I think the cooling was worth the expense. I'm hoping I can use these coolers on future video card purchases. They do cool Seriously well. I dont have scaldingly hot video cards in my computer anymore. I stopped overclocking my PCs a lot of years ago, but I'll bet I could get back into it with these coolers.

This keeps my XFX 48701gb cool, and it's A lot quieter than the stock HS.The temperatures posted are at max and minimum fan.MAX: Idle - 38C Load - 46CMIN: Idle - 42C MAX: 64CThe assurance that this thing performs greater than the stock cooler is fantastic. This cooler does not exhaust out the rear, as the stock one particular did. It does dump a lot of thermal radiation into the situation. Nonetheless, that's much more of a con for my GPU - the ATI 4K series have some pretty hot-operating DDR5. General, a solid purchase. Make confident you use a situation with fantastic airflow, because you do not have rear-exhausting action with this cooler.I utilized Arctic Silver rather of the packaged thermal paste.

Got it for 42 dollars with cost-free shipping.Great packaging from Zalman, no shipping harm here.Smaller, so it doesn't hit my side fans in a CM690. Very high high quality, excellent fit and finish.Performs quite nicely at cooling and prevents overheating.Tape on the RAM sinks holds easily on the very first try. Blue LED (Gaudy, pointless bling drives up price).Fan Mate 2; I truly hate this thing, whatta contraption!Aluminum RAM sinks should be copper.Fan connector must be the very tiny video card size.Thermal paste included can effortlessly be beaten. These are trivial. Compared to the junk that is out there, this product is aces. Using on an Asus 4870 1 gig, factory cooling allowed card to crash due to overheating, and this is in a extremely nicely-ventilated case.

Truly straightforward installation, excellent directions. Fits perfectly on my ASUS HD 4850. Took temperatures down from 75 Idle, 110 Load to 35 Idle, 52 Load. Works Wonders! None, only real matter was attempting to get the stock cooler off the card. The RAM heatsinks didn't appear to stick as well properly, but they appear to be holding on alright.

Compact and quiet. I have a little cube case that wouldn't fit some of the other giant VGA heatsinks out there. This one slips right in and keeps items cool and quiet. I have it on my 4890, when I'm not gaming I have the fan at minimum and it keeps my card at about 60º. Whilst gaming I have it on max and I peak out in the 80s, incredibly acceptable seeing that my XFX stock cooler was pushing 90s to 100s whilst getting many occasions louder and far more obnoxious. The thermal paste that came with this is junk, just place on some AC5 and you'll be set. The manual fan manage is kind of a discomfort, I wish Zalman would make an automatic a single. Blue LED sort of annoying, I don't like flashy stuff in my case.

Great for 4870. Effortless installation. Makes use of its own fan speed controller. I'd prefer to use some thing driver level. This in fact helped me two fold given that my HIS 4870 fan died on me, realized its aftermaket fan did a poor job plus the card did not have ram sinks. Although I don't get the killer temps some persons right here did it managed to cut my temps from gpu 60 idle to 45 idle and memory i/o 70 idle to 47 idle.

Excellent fan, lowered the temp of the video card by about 20-30 degrees. Uncomplicated installation procedure. . I had to make a few custom fabrications to my card to make it fit, nothing key, but it worked. . I also wish i knew that the fan power chord was a 3 pin connector due to the fact the card only has a two-pin connection, but when once again i created it function. Zalman should make some sort of an adapter for it, just sayin. Overall, good fan, does its job really well, and runs quieter than the stock fan at 100% (it has to run that rapidly for me due to the connection troubles)

Looks raw Did certainly absolutely nothing to eliminate heat from my geforce 8800gtx! I replaced the stock cooling unit with this (and the needed heat sink) and the idle temperatures and stress temperatures didn't adjust a bit. What a ridiculous product. How does something this high priced do completely nothing!!! What a waste of 贄. I will never ever purchase Zalman once more. GPU is running at 58C on idle! I wish I in no way wasted my time and cash in this pointless product. I've observed men and women with a ᡂC modify.... how?

This keeps my gpu (Radeon 4850, 1GB VRAM)at 38-39 C 鲤.four Fahrenheit - 102.two Fahrenheit) when idle, and thats with no a case fan (it broke). Through a FurMark tension test with 8x MSAA, post proccessing, displacement mapping, and Xtreme Burn on, the temp levels at 50 C 鲺 degrees Fahrenheit)It came with littler RAM heatsinks, which my card did not have, so that opens up RAM overclocking a small additional. It comes with thermal grease, but I applied my personal costly 1. One particular small tiny annoyance is putting the springs on the 'n ipples', there's a trick to performing it. Hold the spring amongst finger and thumb as close to the end going onto the n ipple as possible, and turn even though lightly pushing the spring on. If you just turn it like the directions say, you'll be sitting there for eternity or till your head explodes with rage. The directions are out of date, for Radeon 4850 users, the n ipples are installed into the 5th hole from the center on the cooler. The manufacturers page (see the link in the manufactures and rebates tab) has updated installation information for the newest cards.

+ Simpler than it appears to install.+ Works extremely well (At least a 20°C reduction)+ Incredibly universal, fits a large selection of cards. (Mine is the 512MB GeForce 9800 GTX+ and it fit mine with no a challenge.) Idle temp = ㅗ°C.+ Zalman is a excellent brand.+ Came with a lot of added pieces (screws, RAM heatsinks, thermal compound, and so on.)+ Has adjustable fan RPM controller that you can put outside your case.+ Looks cool LED blue. - Could be huge? I have a large case so it didn't impact me. Nevertheless if you can fit your GPU in your case, then this will absolutely fit. The cooler is about 2" smaller than my GPU.- Kinda scary tinkering with your high priced GPU. But it is well worth it. Just take some time to understand how to do it (Check YouTube/ask a person with encounter). On the other hand these cons are not really cons against the item. The fan is a fantastic obtain. If you are thinking about it, just go ahead and buy it. I upgraded to this since the stock fan on my 512MB GeForce 9800 GTX+ was overheating while gaming and force-shutting down my Pc (annoying.)With stock GPU cooler on low settings my GPU temp was at about 58°C. If I went up to MAX settings the Computer would restart from getting overheated (reaching 65°C+).After installing the ZALMAN VF 1000 my low settings temp was around 39°C.MAX settings temp maxes out around 54°C now. Large upgrade, quite content with my acquire.

Super quiet even on the highest setting. Lowered the temps on my card drastically. Came with every thing required to very easily mount the cooler on the card and even had a Zalman case badge in the box. I wish it came with a 3pin to 4pin power converter since my motherboard did not have a free 3pin. Its huge so a single slot card will take up 2 slots with this. I got it to replace the stock cooler on my Radeon EAH4850. The card was running 80c-90c with the stock. When I got the Zalman on there it went down to 40c-50c and created a heck of a lot less noise as nicely. I extremely advise this if you are having heat troubles with a stock cooler.
