Brought this to replace my failing stock fan on a 8800GT. Uncomplicated installation and it is a lot cooler and quieter now. Please account for the size of this factor.

Replaced stock fan on my 8800GT which suddenly started making more noise and not cooling the card adequate leading to overheating and crashes. This puppy cooled it off real excellent. Core temperature is in low 40s °C even right after couple of hours of gaming in my somewhat poorly ventilated case. Also, really quiet. Not numerous, really.RAM heatsinks come with adhesive layer which is actually one time point. Make positive that you fully clean the surface of those modules from original paste with alcohol, better however acetone. A single of my heatsinks fell off and then wouldn't attach anymore. You've truly got one particular chance there. I'm not a huge fan of LEDs, but this one is not as annoying and in fact appears nice. 8800 Ultra and GTX demand additional ZALMAN RHS88 VGA Cooler ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118038 ). On the other hand, neither 8800 GTS nor GT do!!! This facts is tough to locate. I only saw this in Zalman's FAQ right here: http://www.zalman.com/eng/product/Product_Study.asp?idx . Before I learned this I sent an e mail to their support and soon after three weeks got their reply saying that it's needed. But this is in all probability is a mistake because my setup devoid of it was operating just fine all this time with almost everything becoming somewhat cool.

-The cooler is quiet and even at higher levels the noise is tolerable.-The instructions are clear-It looks kinda cool with the blue LED but not seriously lol The heatsink is seriously tiny. From the picture it looks like it's major but it's NOT! I have *HIS HD 4870 IceQ four+ Turbo 1GB 鵀bit) GDDR5* and just before idle stock temps were 54C at 50% and proper now with zalman heatsink on (lowest fan frequency) they are precisely the same: 54C. I utilised arctic silver 5 rather of supplied one particular and when I touch the heatsink it's actually hot which suggests I did approach appropriate. My primary goal was to get rid of the noise that ati video cards make and ultimately, thank you ZALMAN! But the heatsink could have been two-inches longer which in terms would mean better heat toleration and decrease temperatures. So yea, -2 eggs for no adjust in temperatures and three eggs for noise cancellation.

It was simple to set up on my 9800GT, it all went with each other beautifully. Substantially lowered temps and noise from the stock cooler see earlier feed back for greater specs). It works beautifully with my Nzxt desktop fan controller. Its massive and beefy, it didn't really feel as if I had to be super delicate with it. None at this time. The major copper appear looks kinda odd in the case if your the type to mod circumstances. It does not appear to match something else.

Idle temps dropped from 79C to 40C! Noise is now inline with the remainder of the method. None actually. I look at ŬX dollars fairly expensive for a card that's most likely only worth 2X as significantly now, but the reduction in noise and peace of mind that I'll be capable to upgrade to a thing when I want to rather than when it dies from heat created it worth the $$. I have a PNY GT9800 that came with a low profile single slot heatsink/fan. The factor would crank up and sound like a vacuum cleaner. I do give PNY credit even though, it lasted 1.five years and was nonetheless going robust (and loud).

After I got it installed, it keeps my 5770 oc'ed to 950 mhz and 1360 mhz (GPU and RAM) cooled to 34c on idle, ㅪc immediately after playing TF2 for about an hour with max settings. Fan is particularly quiet, Am not able to hear it more than the three 120mm fans in my case. Utilised Arctic Silver Ceramic instead of incorporated heat paste. The quiet can be a negative factor. The integrated fan controller is a small finicky. Following I was playing TF2, my computer froze. I rebooted, and noticed the video card was operating at 76c. After opening the case, I found the fan wasn't running. Have to be cautious about disconnecting the connector even slightly from the back of the controller. Dear lord this was a nightmare to install. It is technically "incompatible" with the Powercolor Radeon HD 5770 unless you're willing to remove to reduce DVI connector from the video card, and then bend/cut the fins on 1 side of the card... It was a terrifying practical experience, but when I finally got everything on I'm really content with the cooler. Anticipate temps to drop even more as thermal grease sets.

I have owned this factor for the longest time, it has noticed me through 3 unique systems, I have loved it a lot more and much more ever due to the fact. It has kept temps down, and fits fantastic in the Antec 1200, it also looks pretty sexy. I can actually tell, as I have a Antec 1200 which is very a loud case, but as far as I can tell it does give off a somewhat decent quantity of noise. The copper fins are a bit sharp, sharp sufficient that I have received very a handful of cuts to my hands and arms whilst working on systems. They also make an awesome sound of you drag you finger along all of them.

Simple ㅇ-30 minute install on my HIS Radeon HD4890.Fits snug, and I feel confident with the integrity of the cooler/card interface.Quiet. Very quiet. Virtually... as well quiet :-pFan LED isn't as well bright for my taste (and is blue if any individual was wondering).Would advise for a friend.Would obtain again. None worth mentioning.I can't comment on temps simply because I'm posting this assessment just following installation and I'm still waiting for the thermal paste to settle. If you've ever been concerned about your Pc sneaking up on you and administering payback for all the dust you let make up inside of it - then take into account attaching a bell onto your tower, due to the fact your graphics card will no longer serve to warn you.

Totally good cooler. Not only did it drop my original temps by 11C but permitted me to overclock the core 50Mhz and the memory 100Mhz. I could not be happier with an air cooler. None I personal the XFX AMD 5830 GPU and the screw configuration fits with no any modulation needed.--I don't have something undesirable to say about this cooler. It is certainly phenomenal. This is the second aftermarket cooler I've bought for a GPU -not this cooler but a various a single- and each are fantastic. This 1 nevertheless far exceeds the efficacy of the other. I would suggest this cooler to absolutely everyone, that makes use of a GPU for gaming.

I bought this for an old HD4870 I have that started to run hot, actually hot. I have no notion why, perhaps the old fan was clogged with dust. My card went from a noisy 95-100C idle to a very quiet 47C at idle and stays beneath 55C below load. I'm really impressed it works so well for me. the ram sinks, it's ideal if you let them sit with the card facing up for an hour so that they stick to the memory excellent. Just a suggestion. I have a Antec 900 case, there is lots of air flow and no purpose the that I can believe of why the stock fan wasn't cooling the card.

This VGA can cool extremely well. Fits on my 5850 like white on rice. My temps drops as low as 32-35C idle, and I reside in a AC cooled area of 75-76 Degrees F. Nonetheless without my AC, it's around 86-88 and my idle temps go up to 42C.Max temps under no circumstances went over 65C. So it performs.+ Fan controller = Great The -1 Eggs is due to Zalman's fault. A single of my screws came unthreaded, which means one of my screws could not screw in at all simply because it didn't have the needed rigged lines to screw in. Also, if the fan controller is put all the way low. It will make some sort of sound. I some how filed down the screw just to make the cap fit in snug and tight.Zalman - Just add an added screw next time. It cost so considerably significantly less to add 1 further than it is to ship a screw.

Does a fantastic job on my 9800 GTX+. Like other folks, this was not listed as supported in the manual that I got, but the 4th holes match, if I keep in mind appropriately (was annoying to get rid of the stock heatsink, small screws on the finish) . Dropped temps by 15C below no load. Have this card in a Storm Sniper SGC-6000-KXN1 case, so the LEDs are a nice addition. None really that I can think of. Some people are reporting that it takes up two PCI slots, but my 9800's heatsink did as well and didn't do what this cooler could and this cooler is smaller sized than the 9800's stock. I like this cooler and is worth it for what I want to do. Worth the cash to cool down my 9800 GTX+.

Keeps HD 4850 cooler than stock, incredibly quiet, glows blue. Heatpipes stick up among crossfire connections, not a difficulty since of versatile jumper, but could be concern for Nvidia cards. My HD 4850 was overheating with stock cooling ࿦C idle, 120C load, shutdown technique...). This heatsink fits involving two 4850s and dropped temps to 50C idle, 70C load. It is a lot quieter than stock cooling, but fan plug is three pin, so had to plug straight into motherboard (there is some fan controler included with the cooler, but I didn't use it mainly because it is going one hundred% all the time anyway...)

The largest improvement, of course was the heat reductionXfx Ati 4870 (OC'ed)(stock cooling) idleㅢc /loadㅴc-90c!!!!!(zalman) idleㅥc /loadㅪc-60cI was expecting a drop in temp, but this issue goes above and beyond. Crysis maxed out with highest resolution, soon after hours of gameplay shows the card running a temp of 57c-60c (with the case closed). Also, the fan is extremely quiet. A enormous perk for some. I under no circumstances seriously cared all that considerably, but it makes a noticable difference. The set up was unbelievably uncomplicated. Took me all of about 10 minutes, and the directions have been effortless to read "lego-layout" : ) I don't recognize why aftermarket vga cooler corporations don't just create a four-pin fan controller cable so can make use of the the show driver alternatively of a cumbersome unit that floats around the inside of the case. (Seriously I unplugged it. You don't seriously require it anyway). Overall its a wonderful purchase (Especially if you purchased the Xfx Radeon 4870, with the old heatsink/fan assembly : P ). I bought this cooler about 2.five-three years ago to cool my x1950 pro which had a failing stock fan. It dropped temperatures about 30c* at load and was quiet as can be.Then sometime late final year (roughly) I purchased a Sapphire HD5850. Not only was the stock cooling answer weak, but it was also noisy. Right after performing some analysis, it turned out that the VF1000 was a single of the couple of aftermarket coolers that would fit a 5850 at the time. Slapped it on there with the stock plate and with some arctic silver five and kablammo! VF1000 is reincarnated onto a 5850 (probably since it was so fantastic in its previous life ;D ) Temps dropped 15-20*, nevertheless quiet as day 1.Appears great too! none You're still reading? Obtain it already!

Cools quite effectively, simple to install, very nice hardware incorporated. Fan isn't controlled by PWM, instead they give you a module with a knob on it intended to match someplace to the outside of your case... far better option would be to include things like a second PCI bracket with a knob on it. The incorporated hardware and mounting is incredibly good and skilled. This unit appears to cools better than an additional active cooler by a diverse brand (aluminum cooler with two fans) even although it seems to have much less surface location. It's keeping my EVGA 8800GT 黊 MHz) at 40 C idle and 48 C beneath load (Arctic Silver five).

This case screams understated good quality. A part (such as the hinged flap on the leading of the case that hides the USB ports) that you'd count on to probably be plastic on a lesser case, turns out to be aluminum like the rest of the point. There are no sharp edges. It's a dream come accurate. Omitting the Lian Li branding at the bottom of the case would make it far more excellent aesthetically. Minimalism and brandlessness go hand-in-hand.

Dropped GPU temperatures from 180F to 150F.Uncomplicated to install.Looks great with my clear panel case.Quiet fan. None. I had to plug the fan into the motherboard. The video card utilizes a non standard power connector for the fan. Not a huge deal although mainly because the video card doesn't care about the fan not getting plugged in.

FairlyRuns quite quietly up until 55%-65% fan speed.Load temps don't rise substantially previous idle temps. Sprays hot air about the situation. My MB and CPU temps all rose 3-4C upgrading from the Sapphire 4870s heatsink which directed air out the back of the situation.Idle and low load temps not significantly of an improvement more than stock Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB GDDR5 cooler. Went from 42c at underclock idle to 45, 60C at mid load to 55C, and 70-75C heavy load to low 60s. If you're willing to purchase these basically for the noise reduction go for it. The fans sound about as loud as most stock ones when cranked to complete, but in most circumstances 50% fan speed will suffice and is practically inaudible more than other case activity. Otherwise you're far better off operating a bit hotter under load and getting the card die possibly six months earlier than it would have. If you plug the fan connectors into your mobos chassis fan pins, you'll need a system like Speedfan to possibility fan speed. CCC doesn't do anything for me.I paired my Sapphire with Enzotech BCC9 ram heatsinks and the Zalman RHS70 mosfet cooler. The RHS70 is supposedly developed for the 4870 specifically, but it wouldn't match my board push pin holes. The one that came stock with the 4870 I left on.
