I was going for a pretty quiet develop on my new personal computer, but the stock fan on my 9800 was just as well ridiculously loud. Following swapping it out with this I was shocked how dead-silent it became. Definitely advisable.Obligatory comment about newegg shipping. It's true, installation is a type of a hassle, and I hope you don't need that added PCI slot due to the fact this will take up some space. I don't know if this is a con, but it wires directly to molex rather than the VGA's fan connector, meaning that the speed can't be regulated by software when it's under stress. It still keeps points cool adequate although.

Just understanding its produced by Zalman is all I require in the Pros but to aid an individual else make a descision the cooler performs stunning, drops temps down and keeps it down. Simple installation while (See Cons). General eggsellent item definite should for any Gamer. Also ordered it on Sunday Night an was right here Tuesday Afternoon. Super Speedy Delivery VGA Heatsinks Fell off in first five minutes.. Also not adequate heatsinks for my 8800GTS 640MB card, not to worry I purchased far more heatsinks and some Arctic Thermal Adhesive to repair the horrid thermal tape that was integrated. Maybe make specific coolers for certain model cards, this way you dont end up with not enough heatsinks..

Straightforward installation and quite quiet, even on the 12V (max) setting, it is substantially quieter than the stock fan on my Nvidia 7900 GS. It also does the job fantastically. Stock, the idle would be about 55-60 and load would occasionally attain 90 degrees! But with this cooler, I idle at 35-40 and only 45-50 under load. Load in this case is Oblivion at all max graphics with about 45 fps. The guidelines could be a bit clearer, but if you just study the instructions ahead of you start out, and consider about it for a couple of minutes if you're confused, it's really basic. Besides that, not substantially bad about this card. I don't loose a PCI slot lead to my 16x is at the prime, so yeah, just want I purchased the LED version. :D Extremely worth the cost for anybody that needs to rather their card or to cool it down on a spending budget. This will absolutely hold me over for a couple of months until I can get a Sapphire HD 4870.

I am pretty sure that this much a lot more productive cooler fan is additional quiet than the ATI stock fan.

Extremely uncomplicated install, took about 15 minutes and I was performed. Didn't feel like I was going to break my video card placing it on either like I did with some other aftermarket fans. Installed on a evga 8600gt card just fine, idle temp went from 60c to 47c. Not sure what it'll do below a load but but I was worried I could burn up the card with the stock fan as I had done so in the past with nvidia 6600 cards so I can't really evaluate stock under load to this. It's not silent, it is substantially louder than the stock fan, but I'll get utilised to it and I won't even notice it after I'm accustomed to it. Must have bought this when I picked up the 8600 to commence with This does come with it's own heat sink paste so if your worried it doesn't, don't blow your income on further paste unless you want some fancy stuff

Dropped all temps drastically. I was seeing upwards to 97-98 degrees celsius on load, and always over 60-65 on idle. After the easy install ྴ-30 mins), utilizing aftermarket Arctic Silver thermal paste, the load temps haven't hit above 60 however, and i see about 35-38 on idle. Preserve IN Thoughts this is on the "low voltage" setting on the actual heatsink.... quite impressed! none so far... GPU - xfx 8800GT 512mb

Effortless install on oldie ATI X850XT PE. High temps average 55C on load and idle's at 36C. Highest I've noticed was close to 70C on a quite hot day with my AC turned off. I recall seeing ATI Tool report 85C so now I know this heatsink truly does the job! I didn't buy Arctic Silver so I don't know if that'll enable drop the temps a lot more or not but I'm totally happy with this solution! None to create about. I recommend making use of this upgrade to replace the stock stuff. Super quiet!

1. Good temperature drops, my temps on my Diamond HD 4850 went from 50C Idle and 60C Load to 44C idle and 52 Load on stock clocks. Highest temp Ive observed however is 56C.2. Silent even when fan is at one hundredŵ. Easy set up, Initial time installing a aftermarket GPU fan (always thought it would be a waste of cash, I was incorrect). 1. May well have troubles Placing in a Crossfire or Sli, NOT Good although, just appears like it would be a genuinely tight match.2. Directions are 5-six generations old, Geforce 5XXX series are in the manual. There is a bracket that wont fit on 4850 and in all probability all newer models, so dont be concerned about it.Quite satisfied with my acquire, wish it was บ cheaper.

Functions excellent; this item will extend the life of my video card. My EVGA 8600 GTS was idling at about 40C above ambient ࿛C absolute). Below load, I saw temps at 55C above ambient ࿫C absolute). I now idle at 43C absolute and execute at load with 60C absolute. Doesn't set up itself. I necessary alcohol, Q-tips, and a screw driver with fat and fine bits. The alcohol and the Q-tips had been to remove the grease from my hands after fumbling it about a lot. I utilized Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, as well, during installation. The directions are great, as effectively. This was my very first following-marketplace something and whilst I'm an electrical engineer who's familiar with what's supposed to be happening, it was nice to see idiot-proof directions about how to set up this issue.

Dropped the temp on my ASUS 4850 drastically from stock cooler. Quite quite. My stock ASUS 4850 sounded like a weed whacker under heavy load. Cooler did not secure onto the GPU as snug as it must be (fan would slide side to side about 1cm play). I had to rig a small more tension with the further washers integrated in the kit.

Operates quite nicely and is quiet! I installed this on my geforce 9800 gt after the fan died on me. My temp went from idling at 70-80 down to 30-40! Below tension, the temp hovers about 62, significantly much better than the scorching 100-110 degrees that was killing my card just before. The assembly requires awhile, but is doable...just study the guidelines quite very carefully! Even so, I haven't been in a position to observe how this works more than a lengthy time due to the fact I just installed it yesterday. May well be a tiny cumbersome and hard to set up for folks who aren't applied to fixing their pc. Maybe I really should have just invested in a new video card? I mean a geforce 9800 gt 512 mb is sort of old by 2011's requirements

Excellently constructed and with superior components. Extremely quiet, constant with other ZALMAN products.I employed it as a replacement for the built in ATI RADEON X700 graphic card's fan/cooler which was really noisy. Soon after replacement, noise decreased dramatically. Competitive price tag for a superior solution. Directions require a bit of improvement, though really clear.Installation not challenging, even though a single of the video RAM chip heat spreaders did not match on the RAM chip for lack of space, but otherwise all is fine. Very pleased all round. The open fan style by Zalman can trigger challenges if an object interferes with totally free fan rotation. But enclosing that fan would add additional material and structure, which might enhance product's price tag. Not a problem when attached to a graphic card which is anyway facing down and performs in unobstructed way.

Bought this two years ago to go on a ati xtx 1950 xt. Soon after the stock one burnt out. And its nevertheless running powerful in old intel make. idles about 37c. the load is about 75c to 80c overclocked. Had to bend alittle on the mount bars and had to eliminate the stock memory coolers to make it match. Actually not going to take an egg off of that due to the fact it says it fits up to the xtx 1800 series. significantly quiter then the stock fan even when it was new. the card has alot of life left.

The stock cooler on my Radeon 9800 Pro Mac Edition was on the fritz. Soon after cleaning and lubing, it was nevertheless making noise. It settled down a bit soon after a even though, but it was time for a replacement. My PowerMac G5 is on 24ǝ and if the fan goes out when I'm not household... effectively, you know what occurs.Opened up the package and just like the billion other optimistic review on right here, every thing was excellent. It does take up a PCI slot above the AGP slot, and simply because of the smaller gap, I moved my USB card up one a lot more to the best. There's fantastic clearance, but if you're working with a few cards in there, you'll run into a dilemma. None. Now, the bottom bracket was an concern. Following installing every little thing, I went to put the card in the pc and the upper housing for the processor heatsinks gets in the way. It's a close fit, and if you're prepared to, you can nonetheless "force" it in, however I couldn't reside with that. I removed the bottom bracket, which is independent from the bottom mounting screws and it slid in completely. Given that the card virtually rests on the incorporated RAM heatsinks, the added pressure isn't an concern. Also, to resolve the energy situation, just take away outer bracket in which the old power fan clips onto. You can slide the new energy cable on there. Optimistic towards the outside end of the card.

I started utilizing this for many months on a utilized 7600 gs while I straightened my motherboard ꀏX) pins. As soon as repaired, I fitted this cooler on my xfx 8800 GT. It's a tight fit, but you can can nevertheless tighten the nuts by hand. Coupled with Ceramique thermal paste, it sits right atop the gpu while it cools it by at least 10-20 degrees (guessing) from the two cent stock cooler. Even following the abuse it's taken for the final handful of months, its nevertheless chugging along gracefully. None. Worth Every single Penny. When I upgrade my processor various years later, the copper zalmans will be at the top rated of my list for cpu and gpu heatsinks/fans.

Just after installing this great HSF (VF700-Cu) from Zalman, the resting temperatures on my BFGTech 6600GT OC AGP went from 165 F ࿪C) to 126 F ࿔C)!!! Under intense load, the temps only reach 164 F ࿩C)! That's less than what the temperatures applied to be with the stock BFG HSF when the card was just displaying the windows desktop!(Note: I'm operating the fan at the "Normal" speed setting of 2,650 RPM and not the "Silent Mode" speed of 1,350 RPM.)Also, the NOISE has gone from irritatingly loud to barely noticeable. (and that's at the LOUDER of the two settings the fan supports!) With a GeForce 6600GT AGP you can't use the integrated memory heatsinks due to the fact they are too close to the primary heatsink, but the card didn't have memory heatsinks to commence with, so it doesn't actually require them. I wish Zalman had integrated some that were half the height of the ones they did--in addition to the included units. Or modified the shape of the major heatsink...but that's a fairly tiny gripe.Other Thoughts:Make positive you secure the card just before moving your Computer anyplace. It's a somewhat heavy 鵎g, copper "cu" version) HSF and can bang into the card below it and/or strain the slot it's in also. Although the heavier pure copper version is worth it for the improved cooling IMO.Tighten the screw that holds this card when installing it. Lock it down! You don't want it slipping. Make certain when you install this that you use intense care! Removing the old HSF is tricky! I typically have to (carefully!!) snip off the plastic clips that hold the old HSF on--considering that trying to push them back via the hole is way too risky (though clipping them tends to make it impossible to re-install the old HSF unless you order additional clips--not that you'd most likely ever want to do that soon after making use of the Zalman). Make certain you use a great anti-static soft pad to lay everything on, be Tremendously gentle, be Fairly patient, Consider through almost everything ahead of carrying out it, don't let Anything scrape Anything and so forth. Also, be careful when wiping the old thermal grease off of the GPU chip die. Any cloth/paper towel can snag on a single of the tiny surface-mounted elements next to the die and break it off!I put to use "Arctic Silver 5" thermal compound (the local Radio Shack in reality had it).Careful installing the card also. It'll be somewhat bulky and heavy with the HSF and can simply scrape or knock the adjacent PCI c

Quiet, effective, and far greater than my stock cooler. The stock cooler looked pitiful in comparison. In *silent* mode the GPU temp dropped ㅊ degrees from 60 to 42. Instructions are pretty effortless to comply with. The memory sinks are fairly handy, and don't unstick effortless. Mounts incredibly nicely; you know it's on there securely. Not powered by the GPU itself. For a moment the unit seemed as well tiny to fit onto its own brace, but that was to assist make it fit snugly. The unit is heavy, but fits perfectly on an 8500GT. It produced me understand how pitiful the stock cooler was, haha. Do a thorough dusting before you install the memory heat sinks.

Bought the fan for an aging AGP machine with a EVGA Geforce 6200 and soon after some customizing installed fairly easily (more in other thoughts). My typical idle temp was 40 deg C and loaded temp was 64-67 deg C with the stock heatsink. Following setting up the fan my common idle temp is sitting beneath 30 deg C and loaded temps have never enhanced above 37 deg C as of yet, and I've only got it plugged in on the low voltage setting. It hasn't been over 25 C outdoors or inside the area with the laptop due to the fact I've installed the fan but it seems to be performing wonders on maintaining it cool. It's quite quiet and I've had no trouble with it as of yet. Excellent price as well. Only con so far is that Zalman's site mentioned it was compatible with a Geforce 6200 PCIe, no mention of the AGP card, and that it was not incompatible with the AGP card. Would have been a fiveǛ rating except it appeared it was totally compatible. To install I had to remove (break) about ten of the copper fins at the base of the heatsink (there are a lot more so no worries) to fit around the capacitors(?) on the card. It was not ideal but it worked. I also wasn't able to use two of the ram heatsinks as they sit too high and too close to the fins to line up the screws. I also utilised AC thermal paste rather than the provided tube as I currently had some sitting around.
