Comment:
Quiet, flexibility in wiring configuration, stable output voltages. Massive. This unit has an more than sized footprint, plus the cables are terminated with straight in connectors, no 90 degree bushings or elbows. This may well trigger complications with those tight builds. I have however to notice the noise problem that the prior posters are noting, and my setup is configured to run quiet with thermostatically controlled fans and twin Noctua 120mm HSF's.It does draw a hellacious load of amps from the wall, so be mindful what you connect to that identical circuit or you may possibly trip breakers. If you have an UPS, then upgrading may well be in order to retain that safety margin.

This factor is quiet and runs outstanding. Is pushing an Intel Core i7 950, in an Asus WS MB 6GB of RAM, a PNY Quadro 3800 & a PNY GTX 480. No issues at all. The Primary MB cables are alittle short for my Danger Den Double Wide Tower - 21 Black Series Edition Case, but moding the box to flip the Power Provide around was no big deal. :)

* Great if you dont plan to use it with any new graphic cards or CPUs. * Produces high pitch squealing in combination with lots of other hardware (Geforce 260뢰뢵뢿 and Radeon 4850񳻶X2 etc and so on.)* The similar squealing (coil whine) also appears when you use the harddrive or do some thing as basic as scrolling a net page.* Zalman is to this date (Jun 12 2009) not offering any solutions for this difficulty. Even although its been known for various months.* Their support e-mail addresses do not reply or replies with messages that tends to postpone a answer indefinitely. I have myself been in get in touch with with them for more than four months and nevertheless no remedy.* As this is a manufacturing error - RMA'ing this device won't solve the difficulty as soon as you've bought it. My sincere recommendation would be to absolutely stay away from this item unless you enjoy hearing a high pitched dentist drill getting run by means of a cats head each time you do some thing on your personal computer. There are videos on Youtube that show this, I couldnt post it due to the guidelines against links.

"Modular" is supposed to be a PS that doesn't have excessive energy cables attached permanantly. I bought this power supply so that excess energy cables would not impede airflow in my case. Due to the expandability of my method, this isn't a really big deal but restricted airflow is. I didn't get what was advertised. I'm disappointed, but what I got is workable for my program.

So far this has been a dependable power supply. Wish that I could say a lot more but I am not genuinely stressing the unit at this time and so there is not a lot else to say, it powers the system and effortlessly handles dual video cards. No power switch. This is not actually a large deal, but it seems strange that it was left out.

This PSU has loads for power for those seeking to build the latest and greatest. Seems to run fairly quiet and a lot cooler than I expected. Other than a problem with 1st example I received, this looks to be just what I essential to power a Intel Q9300 and eVGA 9800 GX2 based method. As mentioned, my very first example that I received wouldn't power-up and I had to RMA it. Whilst it wasn't Newegg's fault my wait was agonizingly lengthy. It took almost 12 days for the supply to get from me in Florida back to their Warehouse in California; it was a holiday weekend though. Subsequent time I will ask for a refund and just acquire a different PSU rather of waiting. I was searching for a great PSU to run a new construct with an eVGA 790i Ultra MoBo, Intel Q9300 and a 9800 GX2 VGA card. I wanted a lot of headroom for overclocking and for the eventuality that I may well someday add a second 9800 GX2 so I necessary plenty of juice. All indications was that I would need at least 750-850 watts for my rig as built, and would get close to the 1kW level if I added a second VGA card. This PSU at the time seemed to be the very best price, and was fairly nicely reviewed on the web, although at the time no 1 had performed a Newegg evaluation. I haven't seriously pushed my technique however, since I am nevertheless breaking it in, but now that I have everything up and running I suspect I will stay content with this unit.

Clean stable power. Been incredibly dependable for me so far. Knocked on egg off for no power switch. 4Ǜ That appears totally ridiculous to me. I suppose flipping a switch versus pulling a plug isn't that massive a difference, but come on guys... I would prefer a entirely modular design rather than this branched cable with numerous outputs on each 1. To me the ideal modular PSU permits me to only have precisely the cables required for my system, and leave the rest out for aesthetic/airflow factors.

This PSU is pro. I originally bought a different brand by way of Newegg, and it lasted ӭ hour and then blew. I read some evaluations on Zalman and decided it was excellent sufficient to try.-They label every single and just about every cable, which is such a good touch. I've installed quite a few PSUs, never seen that, but it makes it nice.-They give you some nice velcro straps so you can preserve your case clean.-No odor at all when it was 1st fired up.-They rate their provide at the continuous voltage not peak. Other makers rate theirs at peak. -No power switch

Been working with it for a year, no issues whatsoever I guess the only complaint was it is not modular... I guess that would be it I do have an oversized chasis... so it might be hard on people with "just suitable" chasis.

Tested this at work and was discovered to be dead... dead... dead... When I recieved one that worked it seems this is a fantastic power supply... RMA procedure with new egg took longer than expected and at 12lbs... it expense me ฤ to ship back.

Easy set up, seems trustworthy, will definitely meet fairly considerably any power requires you have. Modular/additional cables are good if you have a lot of elements (many HDDs, ODDs, dual video cards, etc.). Looks good, as PSUs go, not flashy, but excellent finish. The quiet standby mode is fantastic. Sleeving on the cables isn't the finest. It's mesh and tends fo get caught on any sharp corners of cards or instances.

Potent and quiet. (I don't know what those people today complaining about a loud noise coming from the PS are talking about. Perhaps they have defective units.) The guy complaining that it blows hot air onto his video card is mistaken. The fan blows air into the PS and out the back. All the cables that are close to particular to be required in a high finish method are challenging wired for minimal resistance (these are the energy cables to the motherboard and video card, one power cable for SATA, and a different power cable for molex). Extra SATA and molex energy cables can be added if required. So this is a reasonable tradeoff among efficiency and modularity. No energy switch. This isn't a show stopper, but it would be good to have it.

This PSU is the most powerful I've ever had. It's behaved rather properly for the couple days, and it's run everything smoothly. It handles two sata 500g hds, and 2 ide 120g hds, an ATI HD 4870 an older Core two duo at 2.3. This factor is effective and hasn't even broke a sweat. It's running all my peripherals and is operating cooler than my old 650. A Little Heavy, put it in, and my case was an extra 5lbs or so, but it's not truly a con seeing as how powerful it is. Absolutely nothing incorrect with this product, if you're searching for energy and a lot of connections for you SATA, PCIE and IDE HD's, this is the item for you. Lots of energy, and seriously cool.

Nice power supply, look and really feel. Extremely Odd, i went from a OCZ 900WATT Mod Power Supply to this, and im hearing odd fizzing noises from inside the power provide. Nearly reminds me of a Ozone Generator for an Aquarium. I have determined the crackling is inside the energy supply and there is no problem with it operating just some annoying noises. Wish all cables had been removable which includes atx, this way if you need to rma, no will need to get rid of all the tied down cables in your case. Questionable, I spent very a bit of funds for this unit, contacted support and they stated they don't supply advanced rma's so i really should be without having my machine for weeks whilst they get the unit, ship me a new one.... By no means would go Zalman Energy again.

If you are going to function on your PC and you will need to disable the power, where are you going to go? Inside the PC, so that's where the button is. It's a significantly far more logical place. Pay attention individuals! :P

Cables are a small brief, but i still managed to get every thing in my Lian Li Pc-v2000 hooked up. 790i, 8800gts, 4 sata drives, two optical drives, 2 fanbus, waterpump, 8x120mm fans. 8gb of ram. Cables could be longer, deffinitly not enough to get a second card for sli, with out modding my own cables to get them to reach. fairly handy with a soldering iron so the cable problem doesnt actually bother me tooo considerably but is deffinitly adequate for me to dock an egg but no a lot more than that since its not a typical case that the general public would use.

I employed this on a dual processor Opteron server to replace 2 power supplies that were necessary to power the 18 tough drives the program has. 1 of them died kicking 7 drives out of a 10 drive raid 6 array. Now with only 1 supply I will not have this concern. It's massive and hard to fit the drives that are directly across from the power supply. Also I wish there were far more than 3 sata connectors on each of modular cables five or 6 would have been excellent. Properly even two processors and 18 hard drives I did not want anyplace near this power but I bought it more for the # of cables. However with the new extended power I might add 1ǘ dozen a lot more drives to the system.
