So far it works. Video card energy has two 2X3 or 4 connectors. My video card requirements two of these 2X3 connectors for it. To support SLI with any of the latest cards there needs to be four energy connectors. The number of energy connectors on this PSU is very low thinking of it's a 1000 watt. I truly had to use a splitter. It's very big, longer than most PSUs, make sure your case supports a longer PSU before buying it.Core i7 940 with 6GB Triple channel Corsairthree SATA HDs, 1 SATA DVDRW, 1 IDE DVDROM and 4 case fans (Antec 900) maxed out the energy connections even with stacking the case fan molex connections.

runs very and has a lot of energy to drive my method. the cables are of high quality and look great. modular cables support cut down on clutter. some smaller gripes but overall its a outstanding psu, very first off the most frustrating for me is that the power cables are not lengthy sufficient for my tall server case, the 8 pin eatx cable would not reach at all and the 24 pin energy cable was quite tight. i ended up purchasing some extensions for both, i think that for the income and thinking about that this is created for a server/high end program it ought to have longer cables for bigger situations, or they should included some extension cables if they want to maintain it flexible. I'm planning on purchasing this for a crossfire rig with the core i7.But even from the pictures supplied here on Newegg I can see the switch. It's simply located on the side facing the interior of the case; the side where the modular cables plug in. If you appear at the pictures, the forth on from the left clearly shows the energy switch. The switch is not located on the side facing the exterior of the case. Definitely can't wait to get my hands on this guy!

I've owned this powersupply for a couple of weeks, and it is working perfectly. I've had now issues with noise coming from the unit. Some of the critiques state that it was or began making noise the day they got it or it was a couple of days later. These new units are working great, no issues. The ad states that it is a modular powersupply which it is, but the fundamental cable for the mobo, video cards, the DVD drive power cable, and harddrive power cables are hardwired into the unit. none so far My method develop:Asus formula lll moboAMD AM3 965 quad core "OC'ed to three.99900 zalman cpu cooler8 gigs patriot 1600 gamer memorytwo ATI radeon 4890 video cards in crossfiretwo 500gig WD harddrives 32cache1 320gig WD harddrive 32 cachesony DVD playerCoolmaster 932 HAF full towerG-19 gaming boardG13 gaming padG-9x gaming mousefive-1 logitech speaker methodAsus v245h LCD HDMI 24 inch monitorD-Links Xtreme gaming router

Ample energy, efficient, cool-running, shiny, and stable. I wish more of the cabling were modular. It would be nice to have all but the CPU board power modular... Worth the cost. It's a nice unit, I wish it had been much more modular than it is, as I had to stash some extra cabling in the case, but I'm not sorry I bought it.

Power supply offers plenty of clean energy to all my components. Good modular design keeps a lot of un-required clutter out of my case none so far. I typically go with single rail energy supplies. but considering that the rails on this are so beefy it doesn't truly bother me.

Bought this simply because of a review (with db testing) on silentpcreview.com. For the load I'm putting on the laptop or computer, I ought to Never hear the fans turn on. 500W or much less and it'll be the quietest active thing in your method. Pair it with quiet air or water, and you can do one incredibly nice HTPC or workstation rig. The average HD will be louder than this PSU. (These are truly "other thoughts" for me, but some will locate them to be Cons) Somewhere in the range of 500w of useage, the fans start off ramping up in speed. It actually doesn't get loud until somewhere in the 800+ watt range (depending on your definition of 'loud'), but if you're hoping for silent AND maxing the PSU, this is not the 1 for you. Also, there is no Power On/Off switch. Unplug it if you want it to be off. Minor hassle although. Not a fan of the LED color on the back. This PSU is overkill for one GPU and a Dual Core CPU, *unless* you want absolute silence from your PSU. SLI systems might still be quiet, but Tri and Quad SLI is going to make the fans function, meaning much more noise. Check the wattage requirements on your system prior to purchaisng a new PSU.You'll probably also find out every little thing else that's loud in your program, and then have to locate some thing to quiet those points too. Could be a by no means ending battle for quiet if you're OCD like me.

Its a kilowatt supply - easily powers every little thing in my setup. Most power cables are modular and there's plenty of connections.Runs cool as nicely, the fan rarely ever speeds up. Minor detail but the IDE molex connectors really should have been modular as nicely. IMO the only connectors that must be hardwired are the 24Ʋ Mobo connector, the 4Ʋ CPU power, and the two 6ư PCIe connectors. (This is a gaming PSU mind you).No hard power switch - not a big deal, but its still nice to have at least. The metallic sheen is nice, but never genuinely observed. The LED on the outside is RED when the method is powered off and GREEN when powered on. Scared the shift out of me the very first time I plugged in my program - I thought the PSU was dead or some thing.(PS. This is my setup: http://secure.newegg.com/WishList/PublicWishDetail.aspx?WishListNumber )
