Keeps my 1.5TB cool and quiet, maybe even cooler than my 500GB in an external with a hefty fan on the enclosure. It looks good, and the LED is not overpowering like most enclosures so its not distracting. There is not a separate light for read/write, and there is hardly any distinction when it is working. To be honest I had to sit there for about three minutes to attempt and see if it was basically working. I'll hopefully be acquiring a few much more of these and throwing out some other ones.
