Cons: None. Maybe the price... But still worth it

Pros: Everything and anything. Sleek design and features till the end of time and FAST

Theirs really nothing bad you can say about ASUS products. Except the occasional DOA device they're really solid products with tonnes of support during its life cycle. The controls and speed are excellent you really can't go wrong.

Cons: doesn't make me a sandwich

Pros: Dual band, extremely fast and reliable, great range, great UI
Comment:
Major improvement over the integrated modem/router from my ISP. I have not had any issues with range and have had 15+ devices connected at one time without any noticeable drop  in performance. If you can afford it, buy it. Definitely worth it! Just don't expect any sandwiches...

Cons: 2nd Band is almost useless,

Pros: Slick Looking, Excellent Features
Comment:
The ASUS overall is a great router, but having multiple computers streaming or surfing at the same time seems to be a major challenge for it to keep up. The wireless range when not around other electronics is excellent and fast if only one system in use. I'm somewhat unsatisfied with the speed and how it's limited our ability to have multiple systems running various streaming items at the same time, especially when I can spend less on a different router and have better results. (I used to have an old Linksys G)If a single user is using this however, its super fast in every aspect.

Cons: Many setting changes require a router restart or an excessive amount of "wait time" to apply

Pros: FastWireless coverageEasy web interfaceCustomizable WRT firmware
Comment:
I had a DIR-655 back from when they first came out before this unit, and I must say so far this is leaps and bounds better. Beyond the slight nuisance of having the router reboot on many setting changes (which may be able to be fixed in a future firmware upgrade or custom firmware), I can't complain. The range is great on the 2.4Ghz band and acceptable for 5Ghz. Those complaining about range likely have too much wireless pollution in the area or they are trying to go too far on 5Ghz. Having external antennas gives you the option to boosting your signal through some better antennas if you need just a bit more.

Pros: Very fast router

I am disappointed with the range of the router my 4 year old router has much better range . The router is placed in the basement of my house my old router I can watch Netflix in my bedroom on the second floor, no buffering unfortunately with this router I sometimes do not even get wi-Fi signal in my bedroom.

Cons: Lack granularity to disable/enable port forwarding parameters

Pros: Fast, reliable, great GUI.
Comment:
Its dual core processor and 256 MB RAM Memory makes this router fast, reliable and feature rich. The DUAL WAN option is great for those who need a fall back option in case the man WAN's connection drops. It can even balance the load on both (if not in fall back mode). You can connect your second WAN on the Ethernet #1 port or use a 3G/4G data USB key.You can create  up to 6 time limited guest networks (3 x 2.4GHz; 3 x 5 GHz) for your friends and isolate Guest AP from internal network. And what can I say about the built in FTP/P2P/SAMBA servers? It's really cool and you can connect up to 2 HDD with the USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports (provided you don't use the 3.0 port as your second wan). This router was recommended to me and I definitely recommend it myself. I bought one for the office and one for home.I'm really satisfied overall!Though it lacks some cool features I was used to in DD-WRT, like enabling/disabling port forwarding on a service by service basis. With the AC68U, you either turn off completely port forwarding or delete  the settings.Enjoy!

Pros: Easy to install without problems

Cons: Stops working after a restart/power failure asking for router password

Pros: I bought this as this has VPN feature
Comment:
After restart or recovering from power failure this router stops working prompting for a router password (not Wi-Fi password) - router password is not given to everyone thus halting everything that depends on Wi-Fi.Contacted Asus support team, apparently this is a feature to deter thief's; this frustrated me even more as a 'thief' factory reset. This all points to a major product design defect - did not expect this from Asus, known for its quality.

Cons: Size is kinda bulky, really can't think of any other even small issues with this unit. Some might say price but imo it was worth every penny when on sale.

Pros: Fast, easy setup, great browser interface, loaded with more than enough features, looks good.
Comment:
Any connection related issues people report are either due to a defective product or external issues... perhaps adapter related. I have had no problems setting up various different functions of this router. USB share with memory stick, ftp, https access and dynamic dns, check for updates works, every device and desktop adapter wired and wireless worked fine on N, G, AC with no connection drops. I get better range on existing wireless N devices and it's AC performance is perfect. I get 450mbps connection rate from a laptop all over the house which is a bungalow style. Transmission rates over ac as tested with a usb 2.0 asus ac1200 adapter came in at ~35MBps sustained for a ~12GB wireless transfer from a wired device to the other computer over the mentioned adapter. Wireless N on a different dlink router was 3.75MBps so the change is pretty drastic. Nearly 10x the transfer rate. The ftp functionality work flawless, I would like to have a bit more flexability with opening the network share for https uploading as it seems to default to sharing whatever you have shared on your lan with wan when enabled. I didn't play too much with that setting but was great to have the ability in any event. Great router!

Cons: Expensive, less reliable than my Cisco Linksys EA4500

Pros: Allows more than 32 MAC addresses in Wireless Filtering, Can turn the router lights off from a switch (sounds useless but it's a nice feature)
Comment:
Wireless speed drops from 20 Mb/s to 3 Mb/s from time to time. Have to disconnect and reconnect devices to get back to full speed. Really annoying.

Cons: - Can't mount to wall- Pricey

Pros: - FAST- High-quality build- Looks great- Excellent range- Plugs go out the back (as opposed to the side like some others)- Router software is very good, with many features- Button to turn off all lights (without powering it off)
Comment:
This router is really good - I've been getting consistent speeds above 50MB/s while transferring files to computers around the house - having AC wireless adapters is a must for this router for it to be worth the price though - easily maxes out an N connection.Overall, there is nothing I truly dislike about this router - no you can't mount it to a wall, but for me, it's not really an issue.Excellent buy!

Cons: Expensive, relatively large size, no wall mount option

Pros: Fast, stable, good range, lots of features, good build quality, cables separated from antennas, stylish design.
Comment:
I replaced a dying DIR-825 with this router. This was a huge improvement. The range is excellent, much better than the DIR-825. Throughput seems improved for existing N devices. AC bandwidth is amazing. The features of the router are excellent. Interesting UI. Asus DNS service is handy.Although expensive, it is a very nice router. Performance and features have justified the extra cost. Only the reliability remains to be seen.

Cons: Nothing, except the blue LED lights would have looked nicer if they were brighter and stood out in the daytime.

Pros: Everything- dual band- good wifi range/signal- looks beautiful- all features/hardware contained in this product is top of the line i.e. usb 3.0 port, gigabit lan+wan, wireless N+AC etc.
Comment:
I'm very happy with my purchase of this router. I'm also glad I ordered through NCIX because of the price and also I placed the order just yesterday and received it this morning! Setup took only a couple of minutes and I was up and running and I can tell you it is better than any normal small router like my old D-Link DIR-825 with 7DBI antennas. I also happened to attach three 9DBI dual band antennas on this router and it works good with them. Like I said, I'm very happy with my purchase!!

Cons: Slow speeds on the 2.4Ghz band

Pros: Lots of potentially useful features, such as dual WAN, built-in media server, USB 3.0, VPN, and static routing, to name a few.
Comment:
This router offers a great number of features that you may or may not need, but it's nice to have them there just in case. It has the same nice GUI as the AC66U, and it is very easy to setup, whether you're an expert or a grandma. The only problem I've had with it so far is the slow speed of the 2.4 GHz network. Signal strength appears to be good, but transfer speeds are much lower than they should be, even at very close range. This is a widespread problem, if you check reviews in other places, lots of people are complaining about this issue. So far firmware updates have not solved the problem, I have the latest firmware and it is still quite slow on 2.4GHz wireless. This is very disappointing, especially when they advertise it as the fastest router on the market.

Solid router, with easy setup that most people can follow. Lot's of good options for network setup and also if you want to connect this router to other routers in the network.I am having an issue streaming netflix from certain devices, and this is still unresolved with ASUS. I have also noticed that there is a number of people experiencing the similar problems streaming netflix using this router to tv's, blu-ray's and tablets.

I have a 60' antennae and have to use line of sight for interenet. I would get as many as 10 disconnects a day albeit only for five to ten seconds. Not great when playing online poker!
