Good bang for the buck! Smooth and quiet. It was a snap installing, and the ASUS unlocking button made my AMD Rana X3 450 Tri-core into a Phenom II B50 Quad core with the press of a button. (although it does not have the level 3 cache) Essentially an AMD II three.2ghz quad core! Ummm...let me feel about it...got a quad for the price of a tri?still thinking..............nope, none. Pair this with an ASUS M4A77TD and use the auto unlock button! Pretty decent match, and for the $$ it was the appropriate price tag. Beneath 200 for Proc, Board, and ram!

-Unlocked 4th core w/o a difficulty-Takes every thing i throw at it (games pretty substantially) like a champ-Runs cool on stock cooler -The heatsink doesn't have an amd sticker :p This was my initial develop and i was fairly shocked at how rapidly it was. Most likely mainly because my last pc was a dell operating on a 2.06 dual core, but nonetheless super quick for 80 bucks.

The asrock mobo I bought with this supported UCC (Unlock Cpu Core). I have but to even mess with this setting but it seems that the board has already unlocked it for me as it is identified and running stable as a quad core (also tension tested with Prime95 for half an hour). This processor is blazingly rapid. A worthwhile investment for every day computing or intense gaming. None, specifically because the 4th core is operating stable. Appears like additional and much more folks are getting in a position to run these processors as quad cores. If you google the topic you'll see that there are a quantity of motives these are sold as triple cores (from intentional locking to faulty production of a quad core). Contemplating gaming and everyday computing will somewhat equally benefit from 3 cores as with 4 cores, I would say take a opportunity with this processor, get a mobo that can unlock it and cross your fingers. Either way you're left with a a lot more than capable processor.

AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:-Low L2 Cache

Pros:-Tri Core-3.2 GHz
Comment:
This thing is pretty awesome for a budget build. Not exactly for gaming but you could get away with quite a bit. The L2 cache is a little low but I would easily recommend this processor for any budget build.

For the dollars, this CPU is amazing. I can hardly tell the distinction in between this CPU and a Quad. Really good efficiency for a triple core and for the value. None. Runs rapidly, runs cool. No problems. I very suggest these for a regular computer (not a gaming rig naturally but for a typical personal computer they are great.

4th core unlocked and is running cool ,stable, and quiet at default three.2 speed with BIOSTAR A880G+ , Almost certainly finest bang for buck correct now for spending budget CPU , especially when combo savings apply.( 贒 for mine with the BIOSTAR A880G+ ) None for this value range. Used for a HTPC develop . Its no I-7 but much more than adequate for this objective. 1st AMD construct in almost ten years for me , and was a no muss no fuss affair. Not certain what individuals are talking about as far as the AM3 lock down getting difficult and bending pins , this was exceedingly easy.

Functions flawlessly. I was in a position to unlock the 4th core and is shows as a Phenom II X4. I overclocks and is stable. None I'm just waiting for an aftermarket cooler so I can truly test the overclocking on this processor. You have to upgrade the fan a heatsink if you unlock the 4th core and overclock it at all.

AMD Athlon II X3 450 3.2GHz Socket AM3 95W Triple-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:lack of L3 cache

Pros:Unlocked 4th core
Comment:
Really like this processor; I got lucky and was able to unlock the 4th core on mine, so I've got a quad core 3.2Ghz. I haven't tried to OC it yet to be honest, but only because it's actually doing quite well without it. My biggest strike against it though, is that it lacks the L3 cache of it's cousins. I still game with this chip, but I think that it's putting undue strain on my video card because it lacks the L3. Still, if you get lucky and unlock a additional core, this is a great processor for the money!

Rapidly, inexpensive, stable. Purchased as a shell-shocker deal and basically paid โ. Employing in a spending budget gaming rig and operating silky-smooth. six.9 Windows 7 processor score which you simply can't beat for ๠. For 20 bucks more, you can have an Athlon II quad, but this is good for what you pay. I was able to unlock a 4th core, but the core was faulty and led to repeated Windows crashes. Back to 3-core now, everything runs fine. Possibly you'll get luckier than I did.

Method built for buyer. This cpu runs all three cores with no setup, on initial boot. So far no problems at all.Installed and operating Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Really quick and uncomplicated to configure for overclocking. None The boot screen is the ugly green "motherboard logo". Hey ASUS, take a minute to hook up a great seeking flash image for the boot, as an alternative of that ugly military green issue.

unlocks to quad core **note not all can but with the proper mobo/cpu combo you can** they are rapidly not significantly else to say. They overclock genuinely nicely. none seriously.....not a hexacore? wasnt cost-free? The stock cooler is a bit wimpy but it genuinely doesent matter as long as you arent overclocking to an insane extent. I was also sad when i didn't see the AMD sticker on my heat sink. im moderately hungry correct now..also poor these don't make grilled cheese, mabey with a heavy overclock..I wouldn't try it even though. I was also sad when i didn't see the AMD sticker on my heat sink..that also really does not matter.

Great CPU style, runs rapid at low temps, straightforward installation of CPU and fan / heatsink What? Are you kidding??? ;-) This is an outstanding CPU for all but full-on Pc systems. I used it to upgrade my wife's Pc from a single core Athlon 1.4 GHz CPU and it just screams. My wife can't believe how quickly it is. It nearly anticipates her every command. She is Incredibly pleased with her rebuilt Pc.Though it is not genuinely a con, I removed the thermal transfer paste from the stock heat sink and replaced it with a dab of MX-2. This is much superior to the regular thermal paste and unlike other thermal pastes does not conduct electrical energy. No shorting out due to any misplaced bits of MX-two. This CPU is running at 3.two GHz and idles at about 29C. Following a couple of hours of web browsing, email, and small business programs it gets up to a whopping 33C. It is incredibly effective and the normal fan / heat sink is far more than up to the job of keeping it cool. It is also fast enough to play most games if it is paired up with a decent graphics card. One thing like an ATI 5770 or its Nvidia equivalent really should operate good.

Super quick and really uncomplicated to install. Although stock cooler seems a bit flimsy, it installs very easily and works pretty well. My Asus M4A77TD board unlocked the 4th core automatically and shows as Phenom II B50 Quad. I've got it overclocked 3.46 devoid of a dilemma and don't want to push it any further with the stock heatsink. Gets to the mid-40s underload, so I could back it back down a bit - but runs in the mid-20s at idle. None. Tremendous value, I got mine when they were on sale for ๝. Merely a steal! Thanks Newegg!

good overclocker. overclocked mine to three.7GHz 鴦x16) from 3.two and staying cool. i could go further, but the heatsink is a tiny aluminum factor, so I'm not pushing it. compared to the old Athlon XP 2200 from like 7 years ago, this point kicks tail and runs on less electricity for the cost, nada. couldn't unlock fourth core/ 6MB L3 cache, but I wanted at least a three core, so if you're preparing on unlocking, purchase the minimum of what you want and if you get lucky, congrats; but don't get stuck with much less than what you wantheatsink is tiny, but let's you get some overclocking from it
