I love this processor for the price. Bought this instead of the new Intel's to try budget gaming on a quad-core cpu. Not substantially Making use of retail heat sink as nicely, yes it's doable.

If you are searching to make an ECO laptop and nonetheless have the pleasure of gamming this is the chip I built my program on. The finest portion is when combined with an ASUS EVO mother board you see temps with the EPU in auto of 42C when surfing the net and gaining at 52 to 57C, case runs cool and games run good ASUS and AMD in a low power systems are killing my power hog Intel method, I'm going to build one more 1 for me so I don't steal this from my son. When you bench mark this chip its just OK, but in real life usage its seamless. Wish the two matched up. Put this chip on an MB ASUS| M4A87TD EVO AMD870and add 8G RAM, 1 DVD/RW and the SAPPHIRE 100283FLEX Radeon HD 5770 FleX 1GB and you can power it with a 350watt 80's power supply and watch your power usage drop to tiny far more then a very good laptop. Eat your heart out guys mines currently delivering great gaming and energy savings.

Put this and other new parts into an existing case & psu that I had. Fantastic CPU. No difficulties with other hardware. Runs 18-29 degC under browsing load (flash, youtube etc). Not a lot of a Pc gamer, but Iplan on placing some recent titles on it. All in all, a great sub-100 USD processor. Included heatsink/fan LOOKS quite basic - but it hasn't given me any troubles.

AMD Athlon II X4 640 3.0GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
Cons:I dont know but i think i could have lil bit more power. but could be just my graphics card bottle necking some games. since i have 5830 paired with a 5830 which i dont think is ideal setup. so reason proably going to upgrade to 1100t

Pros:good cpu I have had it for over 6 months now. does really good. does what i want it to do
Comment:
best for budget gaming rig. I play most games combined with 5830 in max settings. some not cause simply cant handle some games on max like assassin creed II. dirt 3 run max out which is pretty nice with directx 11!

4 cores for below 贄 is tough to beat...i uprgraded an old AM2 board with this processor and it's worked like a charm, 3ds max takes complete advantage of all cores so i can do rendering for perform at residence, absolutely a enormous upgrade from the X2 4000 it replaced, three occasions quicker in max and the 4000 was OC'd 10% not as swift in multi-tasking as i had hoped, but certainly greater then the X2 as far as the multitasking, it could be my 4 year old motherboard causing some bottlenecks, or it could be the processor lacking L3 cache...bear in thoughts, attempting to multitask even though running 3ds max whilst rendering and maxing it 4 cores is when it lags a small, but once i get into IEor whatever else, they run smooth as it renders in max, so for much less then 贄 it feels like i have a new laptop or computer

Value for efficiency. Straightforward install. Quick! none but was truly wondering if going from a phenom 9850 to this was an upgrade or lateral move. I can say jumping platforms (ddr3 and new mobo) was nicely worth it. I originally just wanted this to last me. Faster and less power usage? Oh yeah it was a excellent move!

This CPU is rated one of the greatest "bang for the buck" on the CPU Benchmark web site. It scores a 7.three WEI on my new method create. It runs cool and it's fairly effective at 95 watts. None at all. I'm working with it for an audio/video streaming server that I've custom built (all with parts from Newegg). Not a single drop in frame rate or any glitches noticed in the past three months.

Purchased this CPU to overhaul an aged desktop technique that hadn't seen use for some time. The method it replaced was an old Athlon XP a thing-or-other. The technique is in my bedroom acting as an all-in-one media server, encoder, gaming technique. It runs great and stays sufficiently cool with the stock fan and heatsink. I was also pleasently surprised at how quiet the stock fan was and continues to be. ...Doesn't come in your option of colour palletes? Come on, it's AMD, A excellent processor at a good price tag. Method runs my XBMC on X server Ʉ and my gnome session on Ʌ.Most of my personal computer time is accomplished in XBMC watching movies and playing the old-school emulators and the like. For the over-all useage this technique is in all probability more than-powered with this four core processor, but for the miniscule improve in expense I've got some future-proof insurance should my usage habits adjust.

Fantastic Upgrade CPU Performs FLAWLESSLY have it overclocked to three.3ghz immediatly noticed the diffrence from my 񪢰 dual core Like other critiques stated stock heatsink and fan is terrible, but it wasn't a difficulty for me due to the fact i utilised my old heatsync and fan from my old dual core black edition cpu. it was like 3 times the size of the 1 it came with. stable at three.five but i keep it at three.3 due to running prime temp is 55c at the higher clock. Functions great, quick sufficient for anything I've tried, uncomplicated to install, no setup issues (stock settings - see parts beneath). The greatest CPU load is RealFlight 5.five and it by no means get past 60% on 1 core and usually 30-40% overall. For office, Internet, engineering stuff this CPU is barely awake. Stock fan works fine 񢄤 rpm, 33C correct now), audible on low but not annoying. I may possibly replace the fan with a quieter 1. Installation was a snap - I employed the stock thermal pad. Folks who post (negative) reviews of CPUs, memory, video cards or motherboards without having delivering relevant particulars of their rigs or their settings. Just mainly because *you* can't make it work doesn't prove something is negative. And if it does perform, let the rest of us know about it - PLEASE! Picked this up on sale for $99 for a budget build, its a quad core for only $99 you really can not go wrong with that price-performance it does pack a good punch with some small oc tweaks. Handles 1080p play back and could play battlefield 3 on med with good FPS. Would recommend to people who are on a budget.

Works well in typical house and media pc usage.I have applied four of these in the last 3 months with no issues at all.I use the stock cooler and Artic Silver thermal paste and 3-four case fans and they don't over heat at all even when watching 1080 full screen videos. About room temperature when idleing and might get to 78 degrees F, with tension but cools fast when the load decreases. None, no concerns at all for me. I applied this Cpu with Biostar A785g3, ƒ) 880G+, and A780l3g Motherboards.Coolemaster E-341 cases, and 1 Sugo Media center case with 4 fans.

Very reasonably priced quad core CPU. Fairly cool, efficient and quickly. Quiet stock fan. Not as superior for gaming as the Phenom. It's nonetheless a great chip, even for a spending budget gaming rig. But maintain in mind that because most games don't use four cores that this chip will basically give similar outcomes to the Dual Core Athlon 250 Ɠ.0Ghz). That is, unless other cores are put to use doing other background tasks. But chances are there's not too considerably going on in the background when you're playing games.
