Great cost per overall performance ratio, why pay so substantially for Intel? My shipping box came without any foam packing, paper wadded up on two sides of the box, the packing really should be on all 4 sides of the item. I've complained to Newegg just before about shipping and they gave me a ŭ gift certificate. I'd rather have my buy packed nicely. I'm not going to build for a couple weeks so I won't know until then if there was any harm. Newegg items employed to be packed seriously well, the final couple of shipments have been packed poorly. Hope it works when I do my make.

Great, highly effective, quad core CPU, not to high-priced, runs cool. I purchased this to replace the Athlon x2 6000+ windsor in my GA M61p-S3 motherboard (badly in want of a upgrade) and this was it, in my price range, and just about the greatest CPU my motherboard would help. Its a very good, cheap quad, would definetly purchase once more. Stock heatsink appears a small flimsy, Utilized the 1 that came with my 6000+ rather. Stock most likely would have worked fine, but you know, it just felt cheap. For 质 I was expecting a lot more. Also, I thought all the other reviewers have been crazy, but I didn't get a case badge either, looked all over. Not a major deal though, its all cosmetic. Was a bit difficult receiving the suitable BIOS version installed on my motherboard, but thats a lot more gigabytes fault for making a lousy in windows bios flasher (@bios) but as soon as I flashed it the old fashioned way, it worked good, booted up no dilemma. I adore this CPU, yeah, its not a black edition, but I don't overclock, so its not a major deal. It tripled my bfbc2 functionality, with a WEI of 7.three. My brothers three.two ghz i7 quad only gets 7.4, would have thought it wouldve been greater then that if the i7 was so a lot greater, I recognize the WEI only gives you a general concept, but nonetheless. In any case, Ive never ever been dissapointed by AMD, I loved my 6000+, it was just time to upgrade into the quad core century, and this was definetly what I required, worth the cash. Also boosted my raid 1 array from WEI of five.3 to five.9, and raised my memory efficiency like four points as effectively. Fantastic obtain,My technique: AMD phenon II x4 945, M61p-S3 motherboard, 4 gigs Patriot Viper DDR 2 800, ATI 3870 x2, two 500 gig Hard drives in raid (formerly Raid 1) and a Coolermaster 750 watt PSU all inside a good CM 690 case. :D

- Blazing quick in comparison to the old X2 chips- Runs cool- Overclocks well- L3 Cache - Stock heatsink fan is very noisy This factor is an absolute steal at this price tag. Seems to run cooler with the 95W TDP, 24C at idle. Gets me 60+ FPS in Contemporary Warfare 2 with the highest settings and highest anti-aliasing. The stock cooler was a pain to put on. It was my initially AMD heatsink and I was disappointed that there's no method provided for lining up the bottom of the heatsink with the center of the CPU. Intel at least has pegs to hold the thing completely centered. The crank mechanism took a tremendous amount of force to push down (similar forces required on the Intel side in my encounter). On the vibrant side, you at least no when its cranked down appropriately. With my final Core2Duo E8500 not all the heat sink pins have been down enough and my cpu overheated in seconds and shutdown the personal computer. Just before deciding on this cpu I was searching at the lynnfield i5s. They are much better efficiency wise but there isn't a lot support for new characteristics like USB3 and SATA3 for LGA1156. Plus this was ๖ less costly.Phenom II x4 945EVGA GTS 450ASRock Extreme 3G.Talent 2x1gb DDR3 1600 Corsiar 550WRosewill Challenger

Superb stability in ASRock 880G Extreme3 MB. Overclocks nicely at stock voltage ɯ.5Ghz -- zero difficulties. Runs quite cool, hardly ever even spins up the cooling fan from lowest setting. Threading efficiency is amazing. Handles massive batch photo post processing without having breaking a sweat. none Great overall performance in technique, quite forgiving and operating with 4 samsung drives on a 350W seasonic PS. Excellent. Can barely tell the difference in sound level with case open or closed! Now that's quiet. Good job newegg on selection, delivery and service as always.

Quick Processor, simple to install, raised my windows 7 practical experience score from 5.two to 7.three processor and 5.8 to 7.five for memory. Run cool at 42c. Installed on a Asus M3N-HD HDMI, AM2 motherboard with bios flash to 2301, no issues. Upgraded from a Althon 64 5200+ AM2 processor, even though i do notice a slight speed increase in launching applications its not significantly more rapidly than my old one. Games do run quicker although :). None. Not a con but a dumb error on my component, i didn't prep windows for the upgrade. Soon after installation windows 7 only reconized 2 cores because there was a AMD athlon 64 5200+ x2 previously. Changing settings to get windows to reconize four cores brought on it to corrupt the boot settings and i had to reinstall windows 7. If you are a novice or new to constructing systems study up on what requirements to be done to prep you program before installing a new processor for a smoother upgrade. Fantastic CPU at a fantastic cost. No-hassle install, plug-and-play. Runs Windows 7 like butter, I'm in and out of intensive applications devoid of so much as a hitch. Almost certainly plenty of headroom to OC if I ever feel like fiddling around with it. Stock CPU fan is nice and quiet. Not actually a con, but if you want the complete force of this chip you will need to make certain you turn off Cool n Quiet. Operating complete speed doesn't make it also hot anyway with the 95W TDP. Coming from a dual-core laptop this chip feels like I can lastly stretch my legs again. If you haven't produced the jump to a quad-core however, it's totally worth it. It's like the way you felt when you initially moved to dual-core. And at this price tag point, who can complain?

Seems to be running fine so far, Installed Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 heatsink/fan with it rather of the stock 1, running about 28-32 C idle, and around 40-45 under load which i feel is quite great. none so far. I really consider AMD must package their CPUs differently they have the cpu on side of box with an opening in box so u can see wat CPU looks like but in all reality it doesnt look like the cpu is quite safe from shipping sitting correct there. Just a believed not really a con.

Incredibly quick, wonderful upgrade from my AMD athlon x2 dual core processor!Cool N quiet works good makes cores run at around 800MHz when they arent being employed then as soon as i start off in fact using the cpu (loading a program, game and so forth) it will kick into action immediately at 3014MHz Ɠ. GHz per core) none at all Not very as quick as i7 but honestly i dont see needing a lot more than a quad core of this speed for any cause truly, plus for becoming nearly as quick as equivalent i7 this processor is at least 100$ less expensive if not far more.
