three.five GHz Quad core for 赔 !!!Good Heatsink/Fan included . Performs excellent with no overclock required .Produced me a FORMER Intel user !Price + Overall performance = Happy AMD User ;) Possibly not of cpu , but right here goes ... aid if u can please .In a Gigabyte 870A-UD3 board .. F4 Bios (which now supports 970 officially) .. rev 2. .. Hyperthreading only shows about 2000 MHz as an alternative of the 4000MGz advertised . Don't know why . Don't know if it affects my efficiency which is out of this globe , so not also worried . Heatsink cleaned with arctic silver cleaner and prep , then AS ceramique applied per specs .... runs at 34C idle (with AMD CoolCore enabled) and 56-57C Prime95 torture tested ɭhr all cores . Individuals that say they overclock on AIR and have 40s or sub 40s stressed are lying or they have personal computer in an igloo in alaska somewhere, I don't want to put on a winter coat even though trying to benchmark or game !!!!

Runs cool for such a strong chip, mine peaks around 42 with stock cooling. Highly effective, BE if you want to OC, recognized instantaneously upon set up. Hope you've got powerful muscles and a robust mobo because you may have to call in a favor to the Hulk to get this heatsink on. I believed I was gonna break the board, most of the newer ones have been less complicated but this 1 was crazy challenging. Wonderful chip, would suggest to anybody!

Highly overclockable with a great cooler, runs excellent even if you dont want to overclock it. Cost-effective compared to the Intel answer. NONE Truly like this procesor, I have an i7 and this and honestly for your run of the mill applications (like crysis on ultra graphics in complete high def with 8x AA) the Phenom works just as properly as the i7.

good chip. able to chug away all day at 100% running simulations. typical temp for me is 47C, max is 61C. affordable cooling fan sent with the chip sounds like a freaking jet. seriously. it's in my bedroom and i can't sleep with the pc on. you'll probably want a nicer 3rd celebration fan

Great All-Rounder. four cores at three.five ghz each, 8mb of cache, painless installation, max temp in a super cramped garbage situation only hit 57c. For 赙, it's an awesome processor. It's overclocked, the stock heat sink is 1 LOUD mother. I've heard loud fans just before but this assume SCREAMS like a woman when the cpu is performing something that needs mass calculations. Unless you can bear this, you will require to get a 3rd celebration heat sink. I wonder why our president's last name is word-filtered?

3.5 ghz PER core...four cores...great cache...whats not to like? Truly remarkable cpu for the price tag. Do NOT acquire intel unless you have a entire bunch of dollars just sitting around. Yes Intel does provide a far better experience, but the value differential is obscene for the distinction you get. Pins had been slightly bent when the cpu arrived. Not a major issue if you know how to unbend them with no causing other pins to bend but a slight issue with excellent manage there. Not going to take off an egg for the item itself though for such a minor thing. With my old cpu, a AMD x2 3. ghz core I could NOT run Civ5 on a significant map without having the end game lag just KILLING me. five-ten min for the computers turn is NOT gonna cut the mustard with me. I got this cpu and now it requires much less than 1 minute for the turns to sort themselves out on a huge map. The memory has one thing to do with this as effectively, but a huge portion of the credit has to go to the cpu.

Rebuilt my computer system following 3yrs. I had an AMD X2 6400+ CPU and all I can say is WOW. This Phenom is so a lot quicker then what I had. It cut a 7GB extraction from 10 minutes to 4 minutes! I also encode a lot of movies and a regular 90 minute film would take 45 minutes and now it's like 20 minutes. I'm not a gamer but I'm certain it could handle all the current games out there really effortless. I would extremely recommend this CPU. It does run a bit warmer then my other CPU. I have very good situation cooling so I know that's not an issue. With no Cool "n" Quiet enabled I get 38c idle and with it enabled it's 30c. Now don't get me wrong, even 38c is quite acceptable but it a small larger then my X2 6400+ but considering that this CPU is also far more more rapidly I think it's to be expected. Make certain you have quite very good case cooling with this. I would suggest nothing less then two 120mm intakes and one 120mm exhaust. I also removed the stock thermal strip that AMD put on the heatsink since I favor to use Artic Silver 5.

Excellent, particularly for the price tag. Support for multicore processors has gotten considerably far better more than the final couple of years and this runs in Windows 7 x64 and runs current games with multicore support and devoid of a hitch. It runs reasonably cool - it's constantly in the mid 40s (celsius) even underneath high load. With 4 cores and the specs this issue has, unless you're performing mathematics study or truly heavy duty graphics rendering, this CPU will manage anything at all you throw at it. The way the included fan attaches to the CPU is totally lame and the directions are baffling for a incredibly easy approach - I spent about ten minutes attempting to get the fan on my MoBo devoid of breaking anything at all. You might want to wait a couple of months to obtain a new CPU if you can - both Intel and AMD have new CPU lines coming out in 5 months or so and the prices on everything ought to drop.I haven't messed about with overclocking it yet - I'll update this if I do.

OC to four.0Ghz on stock voltage utilizing the MSI NF980-G65 Mobo by merely rising the multiplier; CPU ID 1693749 as reference. I am keeping it cool with the Corsair H50 watercooler. Temps idle at 31c on all cores, full load utilizing the most current Prime95 temps rest at 51c. This is not the finest cooling resolution, my intent on getting the H50 was temporary. Just since I was in a position to get to 4.0Ghz stable with out rising voltage does not mean it will do the exact same for you as many of us do not have the exact same precise setup. You won't be in a position to OC with it, it is loud, and it can be a discomfort in the rear to place on.Unless you have a better HSF and know how to OC your rig, do not use DDR3 1600 RAM. I have no want to overclock this processor but. It handles all of my games really well. Idles at 34-35c and 40-45c at complete load with the stock heatsink (I did replace the thermal pad with Tuniq tx-2). Heatsink doesn't install incredibly simply... It's challenging to clarify the locking-in-location mechanism via typing, but the way I have it latched on there: it is locked, but I will have to use wire-cutters to cut off the metal clamp thing if I ever eliminate it so I will never ever be in a position to use it once more. This is because there is a plastic pivot-thing that slides when you clamp it that didn't slide when I clamped it, so there is no way for me to move the latch to make it loose enough to come off.I realize this possibly makes no sense but I tried the greatest I could. The fan is quiet enough till the CPU gets over 42c or so, when it begins sounding like a 747 attempting to take off or some thing. I can very easily hear it over my 3 stock 120mm case fans, 1 200mm case fan, and both fans from the heatsink on my graphics card 񣕂). It seriously makes a whining noise like a jet engine spooling up or a thing. Noise isn't an concern for me at all, but I know it is for some folks so I talked about it. No eggs off for the not-so-fantastic heatsink and fan (although it really does a wonderful job at cooling) because acquiring any right after-industry heatsink and fan combo will solve all of the issues and the actual processor is wonderful.

Really rapid, effortless to OC if you're into that type of stuff. I've heard the stock heatsink is downright terrible, and immediately after opening the box, I could see why. 1 of the smallest heatinks for a modern day CPU I had ever observed. Thankfully, I read/thought ahead and bought a beefier heatsink. Exceptional overall performance per dollar - that's why I chose AMD on my initial computer, and why I chose AMD on my new computer as well.

Runs awesome, Full DDR3 speed at 1600 is allowed in each sets of ram slots. I appreciate this processor and it tweaks and runs beautifully benchmarked really well and the a lot more it gets utilized and stressed the far better it's performing. Initial one had a bad memory controller but these issues take place. NO actual cons on the actual processor itself. Newegg did a Return RMA and I have the new processor in the machine and running perfectly. I purchased this processor and a couple of other items with my Girlfriend as an intended upgrade from her rather beneath performing and not so hot intel C2D program. hands down she's enjoying this better than any other intel pc she's owned. I've built and worked on Several systems which includes intel based systems and it's just not worth going with anything less than an AMD system.

Processor is fast! Stock fan is truly awful. As a initially time builder, I wanted to maintain things basic and figured I'd just go with the stock cooler. The fan is actually whiny and is the loudest point in my case by far.The biggest dilemma with it (and this is my fault for not seeking at the critiques much more carefully) was finding the fan installed. The diagrams on the directions are difficult to realize at finest. This factor needs an unbelievable (and I mean that) amount of force to install - I had to hook the lever side in initial and then push down with a ton of force to get the other side to hook in. I was concerned at how significantly the mobo was flexing, but apparently that is what it needed.Searching at other evaluations, it seems that maybe I have a dud, but it's tough to say. I would have taken off far more eggs for the fan, but it seemed silly simply because what you're actually paying for is the processor, which is outstanding. If you decide to get this, don't use the stock fan - it actually is junk. I removed the stock thermal pad and replaced it with Arctic Silver 5. However, due to my harrowing combat with the fan installation, I think I messed up the paste, so points appear to run a little warmer than they really should.Idle: 38-39CLoad: 42-49CMy create:ASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3. Insane efficiency. Overclocks with ease, and runs extremely cool with an upgraded CPU cooler. I'm overclocked to 4.1GHZ and running 29C idle, and 36-37 under full load! I will thank the Tuniq Tower 120 extreme, but the manufacturing method with the CPU nevertheless plays a vital function in this. Gaming is a laugh for it. Running every single game at 1920x1200 with highest settings and getting extremely high FPS. Win7 rates it at 7.five with my ASUS M4A87TD mobo. Umm, none. I got it at a neighborhood shop for 赀 plus tax. With tax, Newegg is about the similar. I would have bought the 970 right here as well but I was carrying out two builds and just purchased the 965 by means of newegg.I guess I wish Cool and Quiet worked more than 4GHZ but aside from that this processor simply can not be beat. It's either this or the 965. I wouldn't look at anything else right now for value. Both are wonderful chips, but the Phenom II 970 is absolutely the chip to choose if you're trying to OC over 4GHZ. It's much a lot more widespread for a 970 to pass 4GHZ, the majority of 965s top out in the three.8-3.9 range.AMD Phenom II 970 BlackTuniq Tower 120 Extreme CPU CoolerASUS M4A87TD EVO USB3/SATA6 MoboXFX Radeon 6870 GPUOCZ Vertex2 90GB SSD Boot DriveWD Black SATA6. 1TB Storage DriveG-Skill Ripjaws Series 8GB DDR3 Ram ƒx4GB)NZXT Digital Artic-Camo Tempest EVO CaseSunbeam RHK-EX-BA 5.25" Fan ControllerXION 90+ Gold Series AXP-700W14FG 700W PSULG DVD±RW DriveWin7 Pro 64 bit

It is a quickly processor. I haven't ever seen this get above 65% load for any extended period of time even when operating the most up-to-date games. The best part is that this CPU can still be OC to obtain much more performance. The stock heat sink CPU fan is fairly noisy when operating at maximum RPM. Its a lot more noisy than my four case fans, GPU fan, and my energy provide fan. It nonetheless isn't obtrusive but you do discover it. It is a small price to pay for its efficiency.
