Actually fast, works via whatever I throw at it, I was forgetting to close programs immediately after minimizing, then opening other individuals as properly, didn't noticed till I was done for the night that counter-strike, contemporary warfare two, fear, and require for speed had been all operating. Cool. Very best I've owned. Reminds me of the old amd days Loud fan If your thinking about getting the 955 or something less than this, don't. Its worth the additional couple of duckets.

This was my 1st make and im glad i created this choice! Super quick clocking around three.5. No require to get the six core this is Entirely capable! You even get to cut back on the budget a little! All around 120% fantastic! I play games such as black ops and this baby barely has to operate above 20% capacity! Great for anything! Bent the cpu pins on the installation, luckly i bent em back :) Deneb for the win!

Runs exceptionally quickly, gets every little thing I require it to do with out overclocking. The heat sink/fan was the absolute toughest factor to install. Would not appropriately latch onto the board without having truly pushing it. Undoubtedly thinking of getting an aftermarket heat sink and fan for this CPU as my program runs incredibly hot with the video card.Phenom II X4 970 BE three.five GHzG.Skill Ripjaw 4gƒx2GB) X two 1600MHzASUS M4N98TD EVO AM3 NVIDIA nForce980aSLIASUS ENGTX470 GeForce GTX470Antec TruePower Blue 750W

Upgraded from X2 4200+ (dual core) while keeping all my other components the very same. Just undertaking this significantly enhanced the efficiency of my games like Mass Effect 2. Virtually doubled 3DMark06 score from 8000's to close to 15000's. I kept the very same video card - which is an ASUS NVidia GTS 250. Run's "Loud 'n' Not" in my smalllish midtower case when using the stock fan - close to 60C under load. Only a mild efficiency improvement noticed when running everyday Windows stuff (like Workplace apps) or browsing the world-wide-web. Genuinely, my old Athlon 4200+ dual core performed additional than sufficient for that purpose. Just swapping the CPU enhanced my WEI scores for Processor and Memory from 5., 7.1 to 7.four, 7.four. But like I stated, I actually notice that additional processing power in my games. With the stock fan, my PC was NOT quiet especially under load, but I swapped it out for the Cooler Master Hyper 212+ and at least now the noise is tolerable and the CPU is cooled much a lot more effectively. To earn the 5th egg from me, AMD ought to actually offer a far better stock fan. The one integrated does the job, loudly, and absolutely nothing a lot more.

AMDPhenom II AM3stock 3.five GHzIt simply OC'd to three.6 ( This is incredibly light OC'ing and i havn't had time to push it further but i believe this chip will make it to four.o GHz quickly.Good Cache size None赔 but thats nonetheless less costly than any Intel chip at the very same level of compute power. I have mine cooled with a Coursair H50 sealed water cooler. With this it idle's at 35 C (@ three.6 GHz)

Installed this processor on my old AM2+ board until I can upgrade to a newer 1, worked like a charm. Processor wasn't listed as supported under the Motherboard manufacturer but I figured I'd at least attempt as the x4 965 is supported.Bumped my processor and memory score from 6. up to 7.4 in W.E.I None at the moment. I haven't touched the O.C capabilities but, waiting on newer board.Cost went up a few dollars right after getting it.

-Cheap-Quick out of the box-Faster with overclock -None I just picked this 970 up to replace my aged AM2+ X4 940. I was only able to get my 940 up to 3.4Ghz stable with an AC64 cooler cooling it. The 970 out of the box is already three.5Ghz, and along with my new Hyper 212 with a Ultra Kaze attached I began correct away with a 4.0Ghz setting and have noticed no issues however. Upped the voltage to 1.45v to be stable. Have but to play about with it to squeeze that added 100-150Mhz out of it that I know is there.I'm amazed that this 970 @ four.0Ghz with the Hyper 212 and Ultra Kaze is idling 6c cooler than the 940 @ three.4Ghz with an AC64 with modified Ultra Kaze setup. It also assists that I have yet another Kaze feeding from the front directly in line with the Kaze on the 212, and directly to the rear, a different Kaze venting out the back. A good 3 in a line Ultra Kaze train of cold air.Final initial setup of four.0Ghz @ 1.45v with 31c idle and ㅞc load. I'm pleased for a 赔 investment, until Bulldozer comes out.

wonderful quad core for the cost. Upgraded from a AMD Phenom II X2 555 Callisto 3.2GHz. Runs Black ops a complete lot far better. I read an article that gave it greater stats than the I7-950. as always if you plan to overclock buy a new heatsink

Cons:not the fastest not all cool saying to your friend what ur cpu is

Pros:budget good for any build
Comment:
If on a budget amd is a great thing to know of. i picked up on of these and put it into my build. If all u want is a gaming rig amd makes what u need for a good price. It may not be as fast as i7 but its the money u save what matters. most games don't need more then 4 cores and for the price can't beat it. overclocking is easy and stable. I have had this cpu since May 2011 and no problems so far. this cpu is one of my favorites that i have used i have and i7 but thats for video editing... but gaming wise i like the amd 970

Quite quickly processor that never holds me back. Gaming, Mapping, CAD programs all run incredibly smoothly without having maxing out my processing abilities. it also helps that i have 8GB of RAM....Stock cooler also works ideal. Save you funds and don't buy a diverse heatsink unless you strategy on doing some over clocking. None however Look for promo codes before purchasing, I saved 10%
