This is the best unRAID CPU, at least until the Atom is sold on Micro ATX mobos. Not the fastest, but for the price tag it is a great!

Good CPU. Unlocked 2nd core instantly and ran stable. Fan/Heatsink may well be fine for stock CPU but I clamped on a larger Thermaltake unit just cuz the stock a single looked a little cheesy (voids warranty. who cares at 38 bucks). At this price you get a dual core proc running simply over 3ghz? Gotta like it! Ummm... Lots of other thoughts, but they have nothing to do with this processor...

Great Low Price Answer for most computer system wants. I've bought 3 of these and they're reliable, efficient little workhorses. None of mine unlocked an additional core but I'm not taking off any eggs for that of course. Nonetheless, a bit disappointing seeing as others report success with it. Seattle for the Super Bowl Win!

Initial of all, I purchased that CPU for my parents, I needed to replace the aging P4 which is now serving as a DVR server. Sadly, I lost my /roll on the 2nd core, it does unlock but it's not stable. On the other hand, I knew precisely what I was buying and this is just ideal. This factor IDLE AT 20 CELSIUS. This CPU is as quick as some older dual cores. For now it's perfect and because I have purchased an AM3 motherboard, I will upgrade it anyway in a year or so. The thermal paste was a bit dry on the heatsink, no biggie tho, I had some spare left.

Unlocked the 2nd core making use of MSI 785 MBHave overclocked to 3.two with stock coolerุ for 贶 efficiency None. Won't go past three.2 with stock? Not truly a con. Probably an aftermarket cooler and some great silver would push this beyond, but 3.two is plenty for me. Very best processor for the income I have ever purchased and I have bought a handful of in my days. Excellent way to save cash for other parts in a mid-range/value machine.

Unlocked to a dual core with no effort. Runs extremely cool and has plenty of power for all HTPC tasks (including Netflix HD which doesn't at present have hardware accelerated video decoding). Total price for this processor, an A880G+ motherboard and a Radeon 5450 video card was competitive with the new Zacate boards, but substantially far more capable. The stock heatsink fan is too loud for an HTPC in my opinion. I'm at the moment working with a fan controller to slow it down, but eventually I'll replace it. It seems the unlock percentage is very high, but even if it doesn't unlock this processor is nonetheless a great value for HTPC use.

I have applied this processor on stock settings for several months, and it ran perfectly when I utilised to play FFXI with my girlfriend, in truth although also voice chatting and occasionally playing music. It would lag for a handful of seconds whilst opening/closing significant programs. But that's expected for a Single-Core. I just bought a second one of these processors with an ASRock N68C-S w/ a core unlocking function, and I was NOT ONLY in a position to unlock this unit into a dual-core, but also have been in a position to overclock each cores to three.4GHz, entirely stable. I was surprised with the stability, mainly because of the 2nd core, but I've just spent the last couple of days testing it, and it's great! I even think I can overclock it a bit far more. All in all, I get a 3.4GHz Athlon Dual-Core for ิ; In all probability a 贄 value!Really satisfied.

Contemplating total technique cost would have been about 赎. would be great for htpc or a great upgrade for facebook stalkers

This was supposed to hold me over till I had the dough for a quad. Turns out I've kept this processor for numerous months and Still haven't the urge to element from it, since it's performing everything I tell it to do (light to moderate gaming, internet surfing, and so on.).Bumped it up to about 3ghz because day 1 and all has been nicely. Mine didn't unlock, but what's it to ya for ุ. Heatsink may possibly be little, but it gets the job accomplished with out becoming very loud.I can't get more than how cheap and properly performing this processor is.

Unlocked to dual core running stable at three.45ghz working with a spare stock cooler from my phenom II X2 thats now an x4. AMD makes yet another awesomely cost-effective cpu None Purchased this for a htpc/home server develop so wasnt also worried if it didnt unlock. Went into bios on my MSI 880 board and set cores to unlock, saved and re-entered bios pleased to see two fully functioning cores. Each amd cpus ive bought from newegg have unlocked on msi 880 series boards. This a single and a phphenom II x2 BE. Was waiting to see if this unlocked just before purchasing a second for a home workplace pc for my gf. Will be putting the order soon and saving the ฤ that an the athlon x2 charges (which ive applied for two other builds in the past three weeks)

inexpensive, performs not genuinely a con, I got what I paid for so can't knock AMD (read below) Regrettably my CPU doesn't unlock, when I try it just gives me a black screen and won't even post. This CPU was only purchased for a household member so they can check email and transfer photos from their camera. That isn't a "con" due to the fact I got specifically what I paid for, just sucks to be one particular of the few that didn't have good results but in all honesty, the program this CPU is in they won't notice the distinction anyway. This cpu combined with a Biostar A880+ and 4GB Geil ƒx2gb) for about 贄 to replace their old items is a night and day distinction and effortlessly worth the small cost tag. (using on-board video)

I like the fact that with the motherboard I purchased, i saved dollars, I enjoy the reality that it only took 24 hrs. to get from Memphis, TN. to my home (Newegg has warehouses all more than the U.S., so they employ alot of Americans), large props to UPS. now onto my critique, I bought this as element of a combo package with the BIOSTAR A770E3 motherboard for my incredibly very first method develop, I have been reading all the evaluations right here and abroad on the net and made my alternative as this would be my initially new processor, even though at the time i was gonna go dual core later on, I see no need now. This cpu will be kept single core because i dont like having instability concerns. Runs all my games like Resident Evil 5, Crysis two and warhammer 40k (the complete series) to name a couple of, without having a hiccup. note: with the assistance of a Galaxy Nvidia Geforce 210 also purchased right here months ago (never used). As usual internet browsing is rapidly and stable on windows 7. 4.5 wei rating none (thats a joke correct???) 500 persons are not wrong. Paid ร.25 at a competitor sale for two of these; have had three and all three unlocked to dual core and oc'd to 3.24, the final two with my Biostar A880G+. Running as XII 4400E @ 3.1Hz. I took them up to three.5 but couldn't preserve stable, tho I wasn't adjusting voltage and prob shoulda. None. Zero. Nada. I use this cpu in may major Computer at property and it does everything I want like lightning. Honestly, till I'm video editing once again or some thing, there's no require for something else, and I honestly picture with a bit o voltage adjustment I could take it incredibly stably to three.6 or higher. That my good friends, processing wise, will also manage just about any game out there. Gorgeous. Paying beneath ฤ on sale, I believe it is the very best cpu value in history, hands down. Nothing comes inside a thousand miles value-smart. I am completely and utterly impressed.

This is the least expensive AM3 processor i could discover (at least on Newegg). It performs so nicely it could effortlessly be mistaken for a a lot greater finish processor. None. Got this with a motherboard combo truly low cost for a laptop or computer i built for my mom. It is very easily sufficient power for something except intense gaming/applications. Also the heat sink/fan is a bit noisy, but it keeps the processor truly cool ; the BIOS health monitor shows it at around 22-30c.

This factor is ridiculously low cost! Runs Ubuntu ten.10 nicely with 2 gigs of ram. good for internet browsing and watching youtube, can run HD video without having skipping paired with a fairly affordable ATI HD4670 card. Can't complain at this value. Affordable motherboard can't unlock other cores so I don't know if that would have worked on this chip. My technique doesn't appear to need to have it even though.

My encounter mirrors some of the other individuals on here, just wanted to add an additional effective unlock paired with a Biostar A880G+. No overclock, Prime95 passed. My make would have been fine single core, but the unlock makes me smile. Absolutely nothing I can assume of, but if I had essential a dual core from the get go I wouldn't have bought this with just the "hopes" of an unlock. My heat sink/fan had a green sticker on the outside. This can occasionally indicate some sort of adjust from the factory but I don't know sufficient about it to guess.
