AMD Sempron 140 2.7GHz Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Processor
Cons:
they don't all unlocknone really so far
Pros: cheap works well for testingfast for web surfinglow power usage Comment:
Got this cpu to test a mother board I got used Asus M4A78T-Eand it works fine for heck of it I tried the unlock all cores feature in bios it worked now a dual core grate been stress testing all day no errors yet I bumped up the fsb 250x13.5 3375mhz stock voltage seems stable but only been testing for an hour now I also put a better cooler on it the one comes with is tinyand I am going to shoot for 275x13.5 3712mhz and ill post back if it works when I purchased the CPU I did not expect the second core to unlock but it was definitely a welcome surpriseI had planned on testing the motherboard and buying a better CPU later but I think I'll keep this one now as it scores 6.7 in the Windows 7 index at 3.3 GHzwith a little know-how and luck you can get one heck of a bang for a buckbut definitely don't expect you'll get an unlocked CPU it would probably be worth it for 20 or $30 to just get a dual core cpu and you wouldn't have to fuss with BIOS settings or purchase a motherboard that unlocks cores |

AMD Sempron 140 2.7GHz Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Processor
Cons:
no weaknesses no weaknesses no weaknesses no weaknesses no weaknesses
Pros: Really good bang for your bucks if you're lucky enough to get one with a good second core. Comment:
Bought two of these. One of them I was able to unlock the second core and get it OC'ing pretty well. The second one was a little unfortunate. The second core on that really was defective and I wasn't able to make it run stable with it unlocked.Really good bang for your bucks if you're lucky enough to get one with a good second core. |

AMD Sempron 140 2.7GHz Socket AM3 45W Single-Core Processor
Cons:
None.
Pros: PriceValueRetail box - so comes with heatsink & fan. Comment:
I bought this processor to go in a cheap UnRaid build as CPU requirements aren't too high. I haven't bothered trying to unlock the 2nd core (yet) and performance for my use case has been all I could have expected for such a value oriented processor. |

Update
Comment:
Along with the Motherboard that I purchased, I am shelving the AMD Sempron until I can finish accumulating all the components that I need to upgrade an older XP setup. Your other feedback comments are helpful to alert me to driver updates, etc. that I will need. |

Good low watt processor
Comment:
I wasn't as lucky as some folks that were able to unlock their processors but for what I bought this for it works great. I wanted a media center system with HDMI. Used this processor with the MA785GM-US2H and it has been great. Turned out to be too big a motherboard to fix in my itx case so went back to big old Media Center box. Very nice setup though for a single core. |

Good processer
Comment:
Wish I would of stepped up to a faster CPU. It is fine for general web surfing and applications. The price was right at $39 and advertises 45 watts of power. Good CPU for light work. |

This is actually a dual core processor with the second core disabled. With a compatible motherboard (SB710/750) the second core can be unlocked and you have yourself a |
I purchased this for an Ubuntu NAS that I was building. Worked great, plenty of speed. I use the server as a software raid NAS for remote XBMC use, download client, TV recording and remote access to my network. I have even tried watching analog TV and 1080p movies on it and it works fine. I was unable to unlock the second core with my ASUS M4A77TD motherboard. Even if you can't unlock the second core $40 is a great price!
