Contains firewire and esata, and the right mix of PCI and PCIe slots. Decent cost for all the bells and whistles. Booted up fine, no complications. On-board sound problem! This board, coupled with an Athlon II X4 635, GTX460 and 4GB DDR3 1333 was getting difficulty operating Oblivion at 1280x1024, but only when on a horse. When not on the horse, the game ran great on highest settings. Turns out the on-board sound card just didn't know what to do with the game audio. I installed a low-cost Soundblaster five.1 card I had laying about and the game runs perfect now. I've under no circumstances had an issue like this ahead of. Then again, most motherboards I've utilized in the past don't use a By means of audio chip. Other than the on-board sound concern, I can't complain. The sound worked fine for watching video and other typical day-to-day tasks. One particular point to look at is the location of the hookups for the power, reset, LED, and so forth... It's not on the far ideal, but rather towards the middle of the board. Just make confident your situation has long enough cables.

So far so excellent with it even though I haven't actually stressed anything yet. The only gripe I have is that it desires to consist of a ATI crossfire interconnect cable, this is the initially time I have used ATI cards and all the nvidia MB i have bought in the past all came with a SLI cable so I knocked an egg off for that.

Properly...it's rapid...it homes my amazing Phenom II x6...most power effective MB I could come across...Oh and it comes with some really helpful software program bits for monitoring speeds and temps. Good MB. None. Installed on MB is the Phenom II talked about above + ATI Radeon HD 5770 + 2x 4gig Patriot G series RAM. This setup runs Crysis two on highest graphics with no performance troubles.

Basic, clean layout. Nice color scheme, there's nothing worse than yellow/orange/green expansion slots IMHO. This is negated by the truth that I use a windowless case as they're a waste of time and I'd rather have function more than form. Regardless, it wouldn't look like someone puked on your mobo if you do have a windowed case. Plenty of space around the socket to install larger-than-typical coolers, despite the fact that the mem slots could be a tight fit if you can't rotate your cooler to get past that.Very good BIOS with tons of choices and the potential to use OC profiles...core unlocking and all that jazz if you're in require of it. It's pretty significantly a no-nonsense board, which is how I like them. Could use a couple much more fan headers and SLI support would've been good, as has been noted in other evaluations. I'm finding a bit tired of people claiming high tech expertise when it's fairly obvious they're lucky they can in fact get their Pc to boot. Any Pc tech worth their salt would be loathe to claim high tech knowledge thinking of anything there is to know in this field. The persons who design these boards have high tech expertise, the rest of us are somewhere below that.

-good layout-good capabilities-simple set up-OC is straightforward with this MOBO -One of the memory slots malfunctioned -screwing the mounts appear like I am bending the board quite harsh setting the motherboard up was extremely simple, rapid, took only 20min, pressed energy, system hanged.Re-plug every thing 1 at a the time, turns out the a single of the memory channel slot on the black side, was not function properly.I was hoping soon place one more 2x2gb ram onto my Mobo for 8gb ram but with that one particular slot out, i'll be stuck with just receiving oen more stick.

Quite fantastic board. Fits best in my HAF full tower case. Lots of room for pretty substantially any heatsink fan setupMy 8 gigs of G skill ripjaws ddr3 1600 went in flawlessly with only minor bios tweaks.Overall good layout of the board. None of the sata ports are blocked. I have two 5770's in crossfire no issues there. four pin cpu fan and three other 3 pins. allowed me to energy all my HAF's fans with the boards three pins so now none of my wires are showing. This issue is loaded with bios capabilities. Id advocate this board to anyone. Absolutly none.

It.... Yeah, I got nothing. -Does not support more than 2 sticks of 1600 ram, ADVERTISED TO DO SO-Barely supports 965 BE, can\'t modify WHATSOVER with out BSoDs all over the location. (I want to anxiety this, it implies NO overclocking, no virtual machines, no multipliers, only the out of the box settings perform)-No POST speaker, had to dig a single out of an old machine-Does not POST soon after reboot. Will only cold begin. DO NOT Obtain. ABSOLUTE JUNK!

Easiest overclocking from a board I've ever observed so far. I put a Phenom II x4 965 BE and effortlessly oc'd it to 3.eight on air. I'm certain it'll go to 3.9 or even 4. since I put a fat Thermaltake fan on it. Lovely board layout. Have had zero troubles. In the past I had two DOA Asus boards so I was very reluctant to give them a different go. I'm glad I did. So, no cons so far. Technology evolves so quickly its pretty much scary. Seems like parts get redesigned ever 6 months or so to the point that acquiring an upgrade means replacing more than just 1 portion. But generally you'll want to upgrade them all anyway. :)

Almost everything besides the BIOS that came with it I built a Pc for my friend employing this board and anything went smoothly. This was a handful of weeks ago and as far as i know he nonetheless hasnt had any problems. I decided to upgrade my technique to support DDR3 so i bought this board. I put almost everything together and installed windows 7 64bit and did all the updates and every thing was fine. Then i installed Gentoo linux and when i got the kernel installed and booted back up the NIC seemed to not be connected. Then i booted into windows to see if the very same thing happened and sure enough the NIC said i required to plug in a cable. I thought the NIC was negative already which would have created me actually mad due to the fact i got it that day, soon after hours of testing specific items i lastly tried to flash the BIOS to the newest version on ASUS' site and voila everything is operating appropriately now. It came with BIOS 2001 so if you have this challenge attempt updating the BIOS before you RMA it.

Fantastic excellent and looks nice. Unlocked all 4 cores quickly. Appears to work excellent when I really got it working...which was a bit of a hassle. It had no dilemma recognizing my G.Ability DDR3 Ripjaw memory. Some difficulties as noted by other reviewers. Wouldn't boot up Windows XP Pro...I had to erase and do a clean install prior to it would operate and lost tons of stuff such as thousands of songs. Hopefully I'll be in a position to retrieve them from from my back-up hard drive. Also, as noted, the power/HDD/reset leds are situated at the bottom left of the board...it was a discomfort receiving mine to even reach in my Antec 900 case. It's a fantastic board when working effectively but can be a true discomfort to troubleshoot if it doesn't. Troubles with XP Pro forced me to ultimately upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit...sort of a good thing in the end I suppose...ended up ordering an added four gigs of memory. Asus boards are prime of the line, and I've by no means run into a challenge with them in the past. They're well built and worth the cost. I would have liked to see USB three. and SATA 6 on it. I know that in the description it says that it is not USB 3. or SATA 6, but by now I would be liking to see the switch made to USB three and SATA 6. But honestly under 贄, this is a fantastic board and you're acquiring great quality and a strong brand backing you for the expense.

The attributes of this board are immense. Fantastic value for high quality board. Several hundred users on other forums are reporting that the power switch on their computers forces the laptop to carry out a challenging reboot. It has been determined that there IS a motherboard hardware defect. I have not heard any word from ASUS on this, but I am experiencing this everyday. Not when has the power switch worked properly. Good thought, just needed a lot more testing ahead of released to the public.

NONE two boards in a row. Fans spin mobo gets power. Front panel on the case works. NO BEEP AT ALL. Cleared CMOS. Same problem NO BEEP NO POST. Power supply excellent. CPU very good. Graphics card great. HDD superior. MOBO is not, TWICE. Just gonna refund at this point and get a board locally. Newegg Need to Actually DISCONTINUE THIS MOBO. It's not just me if you read by means of the evaluations you will see others with this same concern and do RMAs MULTI Occasions. I also went to the ASUS site and read threads on this model mobo and there are individuals having this identical concern so it's not just Newegg buyers. This is just sad at this point and incredibly frustrating. What actually sucks is I have to pay for the shipping back to Newegg @ 12 bucks x 2 so generally I added ศ to the cost of the mobo I didn't even use. Newegg ought to refund the shipping charge as nicely then DISCONTINUE THIS MOBO. I have other ASUS builds that have no issues at all. Granted they do not have this model mobo but ASUS none the much less. I actually feel in my own encounter and from what I've read from other reviews and threads on this identical model mobo, ASUS must cease shipping and Newegg need to discontinue this mobo. Newegg censured what I would genuinely like to say relating to this mobo...

Incredibly nice board. My 1st time developing a new technique and almost everything worked flawlessly. Excellent high good quality product with a lot of connections and a nice BIOS setup. I have not tried unlocking added cores on my CPU however but I'm confident this board will do it just fine. I wish they put a 3rd PCI slot rather of two PCI ex1 slots.
