ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:-no usb3
Pros:-Excellent price-does 8x/8x PCI-E-supports newest phenom 6-cores-eSATA Comment:
Overall an excellent and stable board. No issues upon install whatsoever. Bought for ~$80 as compared to $50-$100 more for a board that includes essentially nothing more than USB3 and a few other features. |

this is a really nice quality board, but it's a little bit outdated. but if you're not worried about sata3 or other features, then it should be fine. |

Bought along with a AMD P II x4 965 for a cheap gaming build, and it does the job. Haven't tried overclocking with it yet, but have read reviews its easy and compatible. |

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
Features don't work well together
Pros: Lots of featuresCPU unlocking ability Comment:
I bought this for a personal build based on unlocking and overclocking a Phenom II x3 720 BE. Unlocking a core (either a working and defective core) was easy and painless. Overclocking was just as easy.I used the fake-raid capabilities of this board to stripe 2 500gb drives for my primary drive. This causes the Asus Express Gate to fail to load and needed to be disabled in the bios. When attempting to boot from the raid drive the motherboard will say that no hard drives are detected but then boot. This adds about 3 secs to the start up time.If I connect a HDD to the second SATA channel the motherboard will attempt to boot from that drive and fail without attempting to boot from the raid drive. |

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
Not for smaller casesTidy wiring a must
Pros: Great lookLots of options (BIOS, overclocking)Plenty of portsGood SW support Comment:
This is a great looking board (black board with blue/black plastics and stylish blue heatsinks) and has great support SW and options to overclock or just fine tune your settings for your system. It's a full ATX board so not for all cases but great for the price considering the options you get. I only had two concerns: making sure my wiring was as tidy as possible (why wouldn't you anyways) to reach where I needed it to and and that the Q connector (for the front panel wires) doesn't connect snugly to the MB.The Q connector was the biggest annoyance, with my front panel wires running down the side of my case (HTC case, MB lays flat) and anytime I moved the case cover (u-shaped so putting it on or taking it off) it moved the Q connector too. The front panel wires stayed connected nicely to the connector but the connector just didn't ever seem tight so I'm always checking it anytime I adjust my case.Other than that, I've been impressed by all the plusses this case provides and would recommend it highly, especially for a standard oriented case. |

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
unless you update to latest bios then limited to cpus and functions
Pros: very reasonably priced board. crossfire readyeasy to install with upto date bios cpu list and functions are great Comment:
for the price ,this crossfire ready board is real contenderand the use of ddr3 ram speeds things up considerably. the only draw back i have with board is not being able to utilize the pci-x 1 slots due to location in proximity to graphics ports |

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:
None that I can see
Pros: Price to feature ratioTypical Asus qualityCrossfire Comment:
The only negative was had to flash the bios to get it to work with the 1100T chip. Also had to adjust the bios to get it to recognize the 1600 ram. Outside of those two very minor instances this board has been absolutely rock solid. Very impressed |

Rock solid quality, with pretty good price Great performance with my Phenom II 955 By the way, Dual 8x PCIE is enough for Crossfire Almost no difference with Dual 16x in actual application |

I have purchased 3 of these boards - 2 for friends and one for myself. All of them are using AMD Black Edition CPUs, and work very well as budget gaming rigs. I can't recommend this motherboard strongly enough. |

Cons:
Dual 8x PCIE isn't ideal for a board that advertises CrossfireX
Pros: CheapSmall Comment:
Really good board for the price. Lots of connectors on the back, doesn't take up much room in your case, and has a fair number of PCI slots. |

BIOS update For X6+No Triple Channel
Pros: PriceFeaturesPerformanceCrossfire Comment:
A pretty good performer for an affordable price, a decent combo with the 1055T. It has all the bells and whistles minus triple channel support, which doesn't matter too much at all.The only thing that bothered me about the motherboard was the fact that it needed a BIOS update for the X6 series, download the firmware from another comp and load it onto a USB key or CD/DVD and do it from BIOS.Also, it's required to change the RAM voltage from AUTO to whatever your RAM is set at because I don't think it "knows" how to properly asses certain voltages with the 1055T. |

Pros: -Price-XFire Comment:
Good quality for a fair price. I haven't tried overclocking yet but I've poked around the bios and it appears to be quite thorough. Not much else...it has what I need, I trust the brand, and the price was good. |

Love this board
Comment:
Visually appealing, sturdy, and comes with loads of overclock features. It also unlocked 2 cores on my dual pII 550. Can't imagine using another board, I'd recommend this to anyone who seriously wants to Overclock, or just someone looking for an extremely reliable board. There was a slight oddity where it will not give me a POST beep, but everything still worked, the guy at Asus support said some of their boards do that. (Ok...) |

best board ever!!!
Comment:
been building systems over 5 yrs now and this board does exactly what it says. a lot more than what I can say for others such as DFI. DFI has been left in the dust by this board for awhile now I have been reviewing ASUS and they have out did themselves with this board!!! congrats ASUS!! finally a real board with simple operations !! I have bought 3 more of these boards for my customers and 2 of them are extremely satisfied while the 3rd is being built.you can add and add to this board change peripherals and no problems in the least.so if you really really want an excellent board this is it!!! |

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO ATX AMD Motherboard
Cons:None so far
Pros:PriceStyle/LookEasy to work withEasy setupExcellent BOIS settings Comment:
I've bought 2 of these mobo's over the last 2 months, the first was for a budget system build with a Phenom 620. After the ease of setup and the look/style of the board I bought a second one for myself with a Phenom 945 C2. In a CM 690II Advanced (Black Interior and Blue LED Fan's) this board looks amazing, include some G.SKILL F3-10666CL8D-4GBRM Ripjaws (Blue and Black) and it looks all the better. I would highly recommend this board for anyone looking for a decent board with great looks, ease of setup and of course a lot of little extra's |

Very Easy Build Platform
Comment:
The instructions are very straight forward I guided my son on his first build, 965BE, 4GB DDR3 ram, 5770 video card. No biggie, just a little more work than buying a prebuilt and decrapifying it. 3dmark06 at 16,000 plus rating stock. Win 7 ratings 7.4 plus except for the WD drive |

GREAT MOBO
Comment:
It's just what i was looking for. I was looking for a MOBO that would support my AMD phenom II X4 965 BE 3.4GHZ without any problems with the bios. It works great and supports my DDR3 1600, could even go up to 1800 O.C. if wanted. |

Asus does it again
Comment:
Like Asus boards before me the smoothest start up running Atholon II 250 3.0ghz processor started up as usual no complications. This board is advertised at 125W processors but came in box sporting 140W processor support. So if i needed to I can upgrade to the 140w 965 quad core. I running 2 1gig matched pair of corsairs 1600mhz dual channel dual path heat exchange ram. Cool and quiet settings work flawlessly |

Genuinely amazing stuff. No complications with instillation. Board instantly recognized my AMD 6core with no difficulties. I've been employing ASUS for 6+ years now and I really like them. every little thing mounted onto the board very easily. Anyway, it's a fantastic board. Not positive if I have any yet..
